Use the strategy for catching latios, find it, if you cant catch it the first time, track it on your pokedex.

thats bad..if you track it down and let it run away....itll take like 24hours to find it again..besides if you change to a route near it..it would change to a route way farther than where u are.so i suggest you catch it the first time you see it.

There is no tips for catching them. You just have to get lucky and come across it. However, always be ready. It can happen anytime.

I caught latias with level 55 crobat..and i do agree that crobat is good.eeks..golbat could be good too..but make sure ur pokemon has a quick claw so at least it has a advantage to use mean look before suicune could even try to run

I never thought this was a problem, the dog is the one you should use the master ball on, because it flees, Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, MewTwo, none of them runs and you can easily catch them with Ultra balls. Didn't mean to be rude. use the master, unless you are so lucky to have a shot on the other legendaries obtainable through Nintendo events.

Why do people hate Entei?? BTW, the Entei in that movie was not the real Entei, the real one was terrorizing people in Goldenrod City when the movie was made! It was a copy! A clone! Weaker than the real thing! Don't let it decieve you!

BTW, a Master Ball is always good for those pain-in-the-necks that flee

After you encounter Entei, Raikou, or Suicune once track it using the 'dex. Then fly to the nearest town of where it was. Look in the dex again and the dog moved to a new location so keep on flying to that one town over and over until you look in your 'dex and it is surrounding the city you first flew to.

Example: Suicune is next to Celadon City. So fly to Celadon and watchSuicune on the 'dex move to a new location. Then take your pokemon and fly to Celadon again and keep flying to Celadon or any other city until Suicune is around.

Hope that Helped

I spent ages searching for my {raikou} in the grassy area next to Vermilion-but the first pokemon I came across in one of the grassy areas near silent bridge was {raikou}! Yahey! Now, like I was searching for the dog, I'm searching for some shiny pokemon!

Why don't u try teaching gastly/haunter/gengar, hypnosis and mean look and let it hold a quick claw.
Have ur ghost use mean look then put it to sleep using hypnosis.
Then have a syther use false swipe to take down its HP down then throw ultra balls.

Um, I did it the easy way - I got Colosseum and traded them over after I beat it... Saved a lotta time and angst that way... Does that count?

There's a lot of back and forth about good movesets to keep it from fleeing vs. just using your darn Master Ball. I say, just use your darn Master Ball. It's what you were saving it for anyhow, isn't it? All the Mean Look and Shadow Tag in the world doesn't measure up against a good Master Ball.

Anyhow, it would be interesting to know if there are any outside areas or routes where {raikou} , {entei} and {suicune} definitely DO NOT appear...

Train your togepi. That's how I found my Raikou. When you don't think about trying to find it, that's when it appears.

I have a question about suicune too, what are the odds of finding suicune if you're in the same area with it?

When you find suicune and you are in the same area with it,he?she will appear then when you get near it it will run away.
I you find him three times go to the tin tower go at the top and you will see entei, raikou and suicune.

You need to have picked charmander first then run like a little lad around water.

Changed the title slightly to make it more appropriate.

Please remain on topic, and do post only if you have constructive comments to offer.

Also, please do not post new topics to ask for tips regarding catching these dogs. Do so here. Thanks all :D

I think people've said this more than enough...Raikou, Entei, and Suicune's locations are random. They don't appear more in one place than another, unless the computer chooses so.

What I suggest is something with Soundproof (If ze Suicune knows Roar, haven't met mine for quite some time) and Mean Look. Then just whack away at it's HP, then throw ze Pokeballs.

For Entei and Raikou, yes you do need a soundproof trapper. Suicune, however, can't learn roar in the advanced generation.

Save your Masterball for your Legendary Dog. You don't need it for anything else, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres all stand still, so you can save right before fighting them, then reset if you mess up, and keep trying with Ultraballs until you get them. That way when you finally do find your dog, and you don't have a sleeper or whatever at the front of your team, you are able to just throw your Masterball and catch it. Trust me, this is by far the best way.

If you don't want to wait for it to randomly appear, here is a way to make it happen a lot sooner: Buy 100 Max Repels, and put a level 49 Pokemon at the front of your team. Find a place with some tall grass and a building you can enter. NOTE: The building must be in the same "area", or "route" as the tall grass, you can't leave to a new area or town to go into the building. Then simply use a max repel, and wander around through the tall grass until your max repel wears off. Then enter the building, and exit back out of it again. Use a max repel again, and repeat. Eventually you will get into a fight with your legendary dog, and just throw your Masterball at it.
