Yeah, it's coming out on the GCN (Gamecube) September 1st, about a month before the MLB playoffs begin. I played the demo at Wal-mart (for about an hour) and I have to say I was pretty impressed. The graphics are nice, although the characters seemed to move quite slow in the outfield, at least compared to games such as Mario Power Tennis, where going across the court took a very little time. Anyway, here's a list of some of the playable characters.

Yes, Mario is a reserved character created by Nintendo, and plus, the only kid-friendly games on the Xbox are Lego Star Wars and Psychonauts (both great games by the way! too bad most Xbox users are Halo fanatics).

Yes, I suscribe to Nintendo power, and pratically all of what Sneaky_Sneasel said is true. There's also going to be a Mario soccer game... later this year!

Back to the main topic of this thread, this game is going to be awesome. With so many characters like Sneaky_Sneasel said, teams can be customized greatly. Also, when two characters that have a rivalish history together step up to bat and pictch, there's a cool VS. moment where it's like a baseball duel. An example would be Donkey Kong pitching to Mario.
Even more: Characters have unique stuff too, like Yoshi's wild egg that substitutes for a baseball when the dinosaur steps up to pitch.

I'm pretty sure that Diddy will make it in since he's been rather prolific as of late. And I hope that King Boo replaces the plain old ordinary Boo.

To get a bit more discussion, I decided to change the topic to "Mario Party/Sports Games Discussion". And to start it off, which game is your favorite out of these. I personally enjoy Mario Party 1, and Mario Golf (N64 version).
