which is better, once 3 comes out? i think gears for online, unless they give Master Chief a sprint button. i hate plodding around like a dinosuar!!! 'specially when you need cover

Halo. Gears is for hardcore shooter people, Halo is for a more casual gamer type until you reach the higher levels. If you need to reach cover you deserve to die; you have alot of weapons at your disposal, use them. He||, they even gave you a bubble shield. Turn around and shoot them !

Basically a super-fast, but incredibly small width laser that you can use to blow up vehicles on the other side of the map; if you can hit them.
They shoot at you? "Laser" them.

halo 3 fo sure i saw the trailer and played it in my friend house and its the best game ever

okay, now that it is out, can give a proper comparison. as has been said, GOW is really more for an advanced player. especially if you are playing ranked on LIVE. can be easy to get raped much, untill you get the hang of it. esp. if you playing against a team that plays together all the time (clans). those are the guys i hate most. they think they are SOOOOOOOOOO good. i mean, really, if i played with the same people all the time we would win 7-2 all the time too freakin idiots. well, Halo is better for a beginner. like if your girl is at your house and says ohhhhhhhhh, i like you 360, lets play.

+ it is easy to play w/ friends
+ can play split screen ranked
+ campaign rocked (GOW was good - but come on you don't 'finish the fight')


anyway, that is what i think. and, if you were wondering, spartan laser<hammer of dawn. except the warning the hammer gives. the SL is silent

I say that the Halo series has been, and always will be, better than Gears of War. Especially since Halo 3 is totally awesome!

Gears of War is for the people that have some experience in FPS games.
Because of the killer AI and the fact that you really need to use cover to survive.

Halo 3 is really for a person that is an ordinary kind of guy.
And yes I agree, Master Chief is the slowest person I have ever seen.

And since I own a Playstation 3 I don't think I am considered a 360 fanboy.

I just played both of those games.

This coming from someone whose never played Halo on anything but Easy. Try Heroic or Legendary and you'll quickly realize you're 100% mistaken about Halo.

And Halo 3 is far better than GOW. Mainly Because four player co-op. And Forge (A multiplayer map mode that either lets you create a custom map LAYOUT, like placing extra bunkers, making vehicles spawn in different areas. You can even adjust where weapons spawn and how much ammo they have already in them.) You can also play WHILE you're modding the map. I've had a fusion core dropped on me in combat playing Forge. I've experienced GOW and it left hardly any impression in view of what I knew Halo 3 had, and that was before I actually played Halo.

actually, Forge isn't that good. maybe if there were more options. but almost every map has the same edits available. this is coming from a fan of both games, mind you, not a fanboy of either. i think the cooliest feature of H3 is the theater. it is awesome. i've seen so much cool stuff on there!!!

1)some guy (i think TJ Ramirez) won a free-for-all (every man for himself to 25) without dying, AND he was owning - only got close to death 2 times.

2) double headshot w/ sniper. went through 1 and kept going through the next

3) guy throws grenade across the map at enemies. grenade goes into grav lift behind enemies and launches in the air, bounces OFF THE WALL, and STICKS THE ENEMY ON THE SHOULDER!!!! it was FREAKIN SWEET.

I can't stand any Halo game. I hate the whole series! I would say Gears is better. I even enjoy playing that game. To be honest though I'm not a big fan of first person shooters.

Well, here is my input. Multiplayer wise, I like Halo more. There are several reasons why. The main one being I have never played multiplayer Gears of War. I do like the Gears of War story mode better. I find it better. Yes, I have played story mode on Halo.

Lol well of course Gears has a better single player. Halo's single player has sucked since Halo 2. (but 1's was good!)

What you posted there is one of the most retarded things I think I've ever heard anybody who has ever played an FPS say. Have you EVER played another FPS before in your life online? Ever? I highly suggest you play Gears online, or CS:S or Quake, ANYTHING. PLEASE before you broadcast your ignorance further.

I do believe every online FPS gives you a good selection of weapons, and the selection of weapons does NOT rob you from needing to run to cover. As for the bubble shield, I don't even care what that means, but I daresay that a BALANCED fps does not drop items into a game that allow you to take fire from too many different sources and say, "haha!"

Penny Arcade is the best at cutting to the very depth of an argument, and that comic basically shows you what Halo teaches Halo "exclusive" players.

In short, I like Gears. I was a BIG fan of Halo 1, and I played Halo 2 for a while. But the piss poor job they did with the campaign (in 2&3) ruins a bit of the experience for me. I think Halo is way overrated.

Mind you I don't even own a 360. But I have played these games a fair bit. So I dont consider myself a fanboy either
