I have a DS with no power supply due to a teething puppy, although a new one coming in the mail off of eBay, and a broken hinge due to late sleeping habits. Sadly, because of the broken hinge, my wireless antenna thing is no longer working. If my eBay sales go well this summer, however, I due intend to buy a DS Lite, alongside a Wii and PBR.

Onyx DS Lite

More people should call the DS Lite a DS Lite or just Lite. Light is different. A DS Light would be a DS that is used to brighten a dark area, not as a gaming console.

I have a normal DS, sadly....All my friends, and I mean all of them in real life, have a DS Lite.

i have a regular ds but i like it way better than the lites because the gameboy advance cartridges fit bettter.

Sorry, it's just one of those things that I find strangely annoying, like when someone calls a LAN a LAN Network - that would mean a local area network network. It's just somehow annoying to me

ive got a standard ds, i got it about 5 days before the lite came out

then again, i got it preowned, but it was still boxed

the lite is far better but not nesesary

The original ds for many reasons:

1 - Smudge marks on the ds lite, makes it look tacky
2 - the buttons on ds lite, rounded upwards so its hard to feel comfortable
3 - ds lite looks to modern/flashy, mite get stolen
4 - its just not original
5 - i think its just a ripoff
6 - Annoying cus when my frends hav a ds charger i cant charge cus

althogh ds is best i have a few errors in mine and my friends
1. the stylus won't stay in so you have to blu-tac it in
2. my younger brother has gone though 3 YES 3 ds's

I have never heard of a DS Lite Phat. Something made-up I would presume. Could be wrong though. I have no self-confidence.

DS Lite is well, a DS Lite.

DS Phat is what some people refer to the older DS as, because lite (light), phat (fat)... haha...

DS Lite Phat is the result of people getting confused between the two, a.k.a. it doesn't exist to my knowledge.

Either way, I have the older model. The only problem I've ever had with it is the stylus keeps falling out. I find it eventually, though, and er... part of it might be my fault for chewing on it during straining moments in a video game. :/

I don't see what's so great about the Lite. Bigger stylus that doesn't fall out, good, but the brighter screen...? I can see fine on my old DS. And the size of the regular DS is fine with me, I don't see why they made it smaller.

I got the original DS shortly after it came out and have not felt the need to pay for what is a smaller version of something I already have. Unless my DS breaks (which seems unlikely at this point as it has surprising endurance), I'll be keeping it.

Same here. I got my DS at launch, and 2 weeks after the warranty expired the L button quit working, but Nintendo replaced it for me anyway!!

I'm a little angry, however. Since the DS Lite came out, you can't buy accessories for the original DS anywhere.
