I have to know if anyone else out there even knows about these two DS games. They're old-schoolish 3D dungeon crawlers where you draw your own maps on the touch screen. Good schtuff. Anyway, apparently, there weren't many copies made. My local Gamestop only had one copy of the sequel on its release day, which is a dang shame.

Has anyone played either of these?

A friend of mine is raving about this game. Says it's really hard, but absolutely brilliant.

Might pick up a copy, since it's for the DS.

There was some mention of Etrian Odyssey by Mr Saturn and me in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=22228

The first was good, and judging from the reviews I've read the second game has kept the same formula and improved on several gameplay aspects, so I'm looking forward to getting the game. Basically I would say the EO games are "love it, hate it" games - you either adore the game or can't stand the tedious nature of the gameplay. As such, it is likely that only more hardcore RPG fans will truly enjoy the game.
