The subject pretty much sums it up. Who is your favourite member of the legendary Beatles?
My favourite member is, and has probably always been, Paul McCartney. He was one half of the main creative mind of The Beatles. When John started losing it near the end, Paul was the only one who kept a cool head, and continued trying to make good music, and not deliberately weird music, which was all John was after. Also, after The Beatles broke up, Paul continued with an amazing solo career, with and without various bands (Wings being his most successful). He's the only Beatle who could properly function musically until this day. He was still just as great at Live 8 last weekend.
John is my second favourite, because he was the second half of the main creative mind of the Beatles. He got a little weird near the end, but in a good way (most of the time). Some of his weird things were brilliant. And while he did lose control near the end of The Beatles, he sort of got it back for his solo career, and wrote some more great songs. Too bad he was murdered
George is my third favourite, and far behind from Paul and John. He was a talented guitarist, and was an inseperable part of the Beatles (he even wrote some great songs, like "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"). But after the band broke up, his solo career was an ultimate failure, even though he produced a few hits here and there.
Ringo was always my least favourite. He didn't do much in the band, besides drumming, and he wasn't anything special at that, either. But he was cute, and the band used him for vocals on most of the funny tracks (Octopus' Garden, for example). Nowadays, his "solo" career is a joke, and he's pretty much a big loser.
So, what do you guys think? Who is your favourite Beatle?
