VladimirMacHolzraum: So the writers put things in the show just so they can read our screwed-up fanfics? That explains everything

I can't say that I'm too surprised, I remember something similar to this when Diamond and Pearl first came out. Some people may look down on Pokemon, but they really don't understand just how big it is, and sales like this just prove it. Pokemon, as a franchise, just gets bigger with each new generation.
Seriously, though. I assume that this is saying that Mario Kart 7 is the fastest selling Mario game? Is that this year, or of all time? Still though, it took one day to match Mario's fastest selling record, where Mario has fifteen years on Pokemon? That's big.

I think stats like these make it safe to say that Pokemon is pretty much Nintendo's biggest moneymakers, as opposed to what most people might think.

I'm very impressed but not quite as much shocked by these figures. It feels good to be a Pokemon fan!

OOOOH MY. That's quite a bit, and only in a day. It makes me wonder how fast all the other Pokemon games sold. Perhaps it was partially the novelty of Pokemon being in 3D that helped. I myself saw one of my friends playing Y, and was impressed by the graphics. Gardevoir looks wonderful, as always.

Since the games on the 3DS are now horribly expensive, and most of them are not that great sincerely, it's only natural that such a great game was sold so much.
People buy mario games because they are mario games, they are not that great anymore, while XY improved over Black and White.
