I live in Ipoh,Malaysia and pokemon is actually not popular here anymore. People rarely play pokemon here. Only me and a few of my friends still play pokemon. I actually feel quite sad about this because pokemon is stiil very popular in place like Japan and America. If anyone live in somewhere where pokemon is not popular anymore, they can freely post here.

Hell yeah it's still popular. I live in the U.S and people are still obsessed with pokemon, pokemon t.v. show, pokemon trading cards, etc. As am I.

Depends on how old you are, if you're younger I.E. <13, then perhaps it is popular, but in the US, it's not all too popular, not as popular as before at least. ;o

It's still popular here, although the players around here aren't the greatest.

I now live in Canada. But when I lived in Lebanon, not many of my friends were interested... Only some of'em. It wasn't that popular there.

In my place I first thought Pokemon isn't popular anymore but when I search in Friendster I see more pokemon trainers. So it's still popular but people are like spread everywhere (those who like pokemon).

From experience, people will say that Pokemon is stupid, regardless if they play it or not, unless there are a bunch of people playing it together, in which case they aren't ashamed at all. (At least, that is the case around where I live.)
People (around where I live) are weird and cowardly.

It seems to me that people round here aren't interested anymore, but some people do still play. The games are more popular than the anime.

That's true for where I live also. It's difficult to tell how popular the games are because no one wants to say they are a serious player unless they're speaking to several other serious players. Although people might discuss pokemon, it's more for making fun of it instead of actually considering competitive strategies, etc.

If you are playing/watching Pokemon and are older that 7, people will either
a) Look at you and scream out loud "ZOMG PEEKACHEW THUNDERSHOCK"
b) LOL at you
c) Call you a immature chicken
Well, that's the case here.

Here, when I tell people I'm playing Pokémon, I usually get the following, ranked from most likely to least likely:
1.) Semi-interested "that's cool" response
2.) "What version?"
3.) "ZOMG PEEKACHEW THUNDERSHOCK"
4.) Talking authentically about Pokémon; this person plays too
5.) "What are you, 8?", "f*g.", laughing, etc.
Pokémon isn't really "popular" where I live, but it's surprising how many high schoolers play the DS games. Many of my friends are obsessed in a way similar to myself, but we're quite a minority. I know of no one who still watches the anime (besides reruns for fun on occasion) and those of us that play the cards only play with digging out our old cards and playing for fun, not true collecting and buying and such.

To be honest, I have no idea if it is popular still or not here. I mean, I don't see anyone playing the games, but then again I don't really see anyone at all. My job requires me to drive all the time, making deliveries, so I don't have much time for anything else. I love the game, but I am trying to organize a Nintendo DS meet-up out here so I can find out whether Pokemon is still great out here or not. I don't go to school anymore. Most of my friends are older now and don't have the time or money to play Pokemon. I have a lot of friends, but about 6 people altogether I know still play. And I can barely keep in contact with half of them.

Not at all. Where I live, over 50% of people are superficial freaks who only care for the physical aspects of people and rarely do they care for intellect or emotions, otherwise known as "preps". And a select dozen or so are friends with me, some cheat off of me (I'm in High school and VERY smart), and others make fun of me. And guess what, only two poeple I know might play Pokemon, one became an Xbox fanatic (that's a NO), and the other is some kid that's a stranger to me.
Long story short, NO, IT IS NOT. But, Smash Bros is VERY popular, and so will Brawl. I play it, and excellent as Samus.

Where I live, pokemon will never be popular again with kids my age. All the little kids still play it though.
