You ARE kidding about Groudon, aren't you? I think he sounds like he's saying 'gu-raaaaa-don', which is his Japanese name. And Zapdos sounds awesome, I think it sounds crackly, like a storm.
What about Goldeen? That sounds like a doorbell.

haha Ghostguy45 has a good point..whenever I play {when the sounds actually on} I never noticed any of them sounding like their names, but there are some that sound alot better then they would if they DID say their names

Anyone else notice some pokemon share cries? Like Rhyhorn and Charizard, and Goldeen, Poliwag, and caterpie?

I noticed that too, and most of those Pokemon are from the 1st generation. I think they got very similar cries because of the sound limits (not enough technology) back then.

Two in the second generation that I know share similar cries are Porygon 2 and Girafarig. Two pokemon from the forth generation that share similar (a bit of a stretch, though.) cries are Infernape and Carnivine.
