Gengar is the defenition of a ghost type pokemon.
Gengar is probably the best ghost type to use in battle becuase of his special sweeping ability.
Back in my pokemon stadium days I used to always have a hard time taking down a Gengar but then agian when people played agianst my Gengar they would have the same problem. Being immune to Normal types really help this pokemon alot alot since (In my opinion) normal types are used the most.
Heres a good contest moveset for Gengar.
Item: Green Scarf
- Mean look
- Confuse Ray
- Destiny Bond
- Shadow Punch
And here are the Nine anime episodes Gengar has appeard in.
Episode 001: Pokemon! I choose You
Episode 023: The Tower of Teror
Episode 074: The Ancient Puzzle of Pokemopolis
Episode 113: Hello Pumello
Episode 114: Enter The Dragonite
Episode 123: Illussion Confusion
Episode 183: A Ghost of a Chance
Episode 184: From Ghost to Ghost
Episode 229: For Ho-oh The Bells Toll!
My Gengar Moveset:
Gengar Lv100 @leftovers
Nature:
- Thunderbolt
- Confuse Ray
- Toxic
- Shadow Ball
Final:
9.5/10

I find Gengar great at opening battles, because of his wide movepool. He is very powerful when EVs are put into the Sp. Att. stat. He also gets a plus in his score becuase he's Poison ;p.
9.1

I agree with Batman 100%.Gengar`s an awesome pokemon.I would just replace Confuse Ray with Psychic in the battle moveset since I`m not a big fan of Confuse Ray.

Gengar's cool. I use him all the time. ^.^ He has a decent movepool, but unfortunately his weaknesses and resistances alter in a negative way due to being both Ghost and Poison. He's still a kickass pok

Gengar is one of these greatest pokemon out there.
Gengar can effectively counter MANY pokemon including CB and SkarmBliss.
Gengar also has 394 Sp.Atk when Max'd. That makes it a brilliant Special Sweeper. It has extreme-type coverage as well with IcePunch, Thunderbolt, and Giga Drain.
Gengar has enough Atk that with few EVs it can smear other Ghosts with Shadow Ball and KO Blissey with Focus Punch.
Normal, Ground, and Fighting Attacks fail at Gengar. This pokemon can sometimes be the resistance a team needs to be successful.
Its Defenses are on the weak side and Jirachi and Celebi along with any other high Sp.def/Ghost-Resistant pokemon carrying Psychic/Shadow Ball. One of the greatest Gengar counters is Hypno because of Insomnia and its rugged Defenses.
Solid 9/10

d00d, j00 gotta love t3h 'cross!
![Heracross {heracross}](./images/smilies/214.gif) is definitely a favorite of mine... though i wouldnt scale it up there with tenta/skarm/typhy, on a 0-10 favorite scale, 'cross's probably around 7 or 8

I love Heracross,he`s one of my favorite pokemon of all time. His Atack rocks and everything else is pretty good except his Special Atack which sucks, but who needs that stat on a pokemon like him.
The unfortunate thing is his 4x weakness to Flying atacks, also the defensive typage of Bug types is very odd how the Bug type isn`t resistant to Psychic but is resistant to Ground and Fighting which doesn`t make sense to me.
Anyway, weaknesses aside this pokemon is awesome.I have an Adamant one on my Emerald version and I use him in almost every important battle I have.He has Bulk Up (bettter than Sword Dance imo because it makes up for the little lack of Defense),Brick Break,Megahorn and Reversal (I know it`s better paired with Endure but it`s just as effective).
I also think Rock Slide is good on a Heracross so it doesn`t totaly get demolished if you find yourself fighting a Gengar with him.
![Heracross {heracross}](./images/smilies/214.gif) Overall 9.5/10 (the best possible score imo because I find it silly to give scores like 9.7 or 9.9 and nothing is perfect). ![Heracross {heracross}](./images/smilies/214.gif)

The Heracrosman!!!!! Great, fits perfect.
Heracross is a great pokemon to raise. Cross has a great movepool and some very strong Physical attacks to help dish out a major assult on your oponets.
Heracross has appeared in 28 anime spisodes and 1 feature Movie.
Celibi: Voice of the forest.
The basic moveset for a good Hereacross looks like this........
Heracross lv100 @Salac berry
- Sword Dance
- Rock Slide
- Brick break
- Megahorn
You could actually replace sword dance with any other move and then add a baton passer to your team to help heracross pull out his arsenal.
How about a a contest move set? try this.
This works good with the cool contest (lonley, adamant, naughty, brave)
Heracross lv100 @Red Scarf
- Fury Attack
- Horn Attack
- Hyper Beam
- Brick Break
Overall Heracross is a major pain to deal with but also a ''must have'' to your pokemon collection.
- 9.1

Heracross?
I have used it on my regular team and found it that is quite useful as a psycial sweeper.
Also, if you're feeling bored of just OHKOing opponents with psycial attacks, try out the endure-reversal combo.
It works well at lower levels then 50, I think.
Just beware of the flying moves that are TIMES 4 effective for him and you will have a great sweeper on your team.
I give it 9.8/10

Aww, ![Grumpig {grumpig}](./images/smilies/326.gif) is so cute! And it has overall good stats, except for Attack. Besides, it can learn moves to cover its weaknesses. Nice psychic piggy.

I agree with the stats part, but overall, I just don't like Grumpig. To me it's nothing special. Sure, psychic swine are awesome, and Grumpig brings a new meaning to "when pigs fly". ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif) But I just can't find myself to like it, or carry it.

This is a Grumpig in the UU/BL Metagame:
Grumpig: 8)
Sp.Sweeper: FEER. *Casts Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Flamethrower/Psychic*
Grumpig: lol, my fat > j00 *casts a sub*
Sp.Sweeper: HAX!1!!ONE
Grumpig: n00b. *casts CM and then owns.*
Sub Piggy can be an evil thing to face in UU/BL. They need more Pigs becaues Piloswine, Primeape, and Grumpig are the only 3.

I have never trained a spoink.
Therefore I don't know much about grumpig except for its a Psychic type pokemon. I also know that Evil Pikachu loves this pokemon.
From what im looking at statwise, it seems grumpig could be very usefull in battle if you use it wisely.

- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball

Yes I do!
<--- Look here.
Yay! Grumpig's the POTW this week! I'm training a female one named Pearl in Emerald (if you ever went to the PsyPokeEC you should know). It's currently Lv. 50 and has a horrible moveset, basically because I'm waiting to earn more BPs to buy the Punches. Yes, I'm doing the moveset Snow suggested (though I thought of it long before this). Also, this is the very first Pokemon I have EV trained.
I give it: 10/10!
Bet you couldn't see that coming. ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
