I was hatching Dratinis for the right nature and good IV's and I came across my first shiny.
But its DVs are bad and its nature isn't the right one either. In fact, it's one that hurts my cause.
I wanted a neutral Dratini, but I got -Sp atk and +sp def.
Do you think it's worth it to just place all of its EVs into Sp Atk to make up for it? Or will it still suck?
However, its Atk and Spd IV's are pretty good, which is what I was going to put some EVs into anyway.
It's HP is bad and it's Def even worse.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So basically it will end up like this:
(I wanted a mixed sweeper)
Thunderbolt
Icebeam
Brick Break
Return
HP - bad
Atk - Good
Def - Bad
Sp Atk - Decent (nature brings it down, but 252 EVs bring it up)
Sp Def - Good
Speed - Good
So I'll put 252 into Sp Atk, and maybe 252 into Def or HP?
Please tell me your opinions on this. Is it an okay decision, or am I just a shiny-crazy fool?

I don't really use a team. I just mix and match the Pokemon I have trained.

I wouldnt sacrifice its use in battles just for shiny qualities. I think you should keep searching for that perfect dratini, but evolve your shiny one to dragonite anyway, just for bragging rights about a shiny dragonite!
There is my views on the subject...Congrats on finding the shiny in the first place btw.

Consiering the probability of a pokemon being shiny, I woul keep my dratini no matter what.
But you could always make it a choice bander or something like that cause Dragonite's special attack isn't to high and a disadvantageus nature just sucks at it.

Just use it as a physical sweeper and in P/D you can do good.

Dragonite has better Attack than Special Attack anyway, and it's advisable to use it as a Physical Sweeper instead. As such, I see no problem at all with using the shiny Dratini that you have.

I know Nite is better as a PSweeper...
But I needed him to have Boltbeam to help my team's weaknesses...
So now Idk what to do.
Where does -10%, but 252 EVs put the stat at?
Worse, better, or equal to base?

Yeah, that helped.
In this sort of situation, I would preserve it, and turn it into some kind of a tank. Max out its HP EVs, then split the rest between Defence and Sp. Defence.
When PD comes out, it can learn FeatherRest, which is a Flying type Recover. Give it Feather Rest and then a load of sweeping moves like EQ and T-Punch etc, and it will be somewhat powerful, but very difficult to get rid of. You could even include Fire Punch to stop the ice types from getting you. Actually, Fire Punch and Thunder Punch would save you. Fire for ice types, and Thunder for Water types that carry Ice Beam (most of them then.)
You could even throw Toxic in if you really wanted to whittle away the opponents HP, while you recover with FRest.
Don't know, that's what I would do at least.

Yep, use it. If it has good speed, you can make it a CBer (4 of these: TPunch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, AAce, Dragon Claw, Brick Break) or you may use it as a plain PSweeper.

They're right, all you have to do it replace ice beam and thunderbolt with thunderpunch and icepunch and your dragonite will be good to go. That would pretty much make it perfect if you put the EVs into HP.
