I was walking around, hatching my precious Illumise's eggs, and then the first one hatches. I was expecting it to be an Illumise of course, seeing as Illumise is always female, just like Chansey and friends. And what came out of the egg? VOLBEAT! C'mon, I almost had a heart attack when I saw that male, stinky bug coming out of the egg. I was like and I am still like oww well, has this happened to anyone else? I guess the odds for hatching Volbeat or Illumise are 50%-50%, though the first two eggs were Volbeats. C'mon, I want a girl, Illumise, not a boy Volbeat! Aww...

Yeah, it stands to reason that you have a 50% chance of getting either a male or a female from an egg made with Illumise, which would then give you either a Volbeat or an Illumise.

It's also the same way for the nidorans, for those who don't know...

Ah, ok then, thanks for that. Now I will avoid further surprises when hatching an egg. Or not. Why, I could put a chansey and a ditto in the day care and eventually get a male Jynx if I am lucky. :roll: I see no use for a male Jynx, though, but I will keep trying, and some day this could work. Or not. Ah, the surprises from Pokemon Emerald! :roll: :roll:

I cant get ilmuse, can you get ditto in sapphire?

You can find Illumise on route 117, and in Sapphire the odds of encountering her are very low, if I can recall. Ditto is only obtainable in Sapphire through trading.
