A liberal St. Louis MO private school's Junior and Senior class are attending a Seven Deadly Sins themed prom this year. What do you think? Is this sacrilege? Is this poor judgement of parents? Is this an ironic joke? Does it even matter?

Me, I believe that the students are intelligent and smart enough to treat this as irony, parodying the flagrant debauchery of local public schools in the area. In my opinion, this isn't a blatant attack on any faith, simply an original idea for a prom theme, and the students know better than to celebrate and worship the devil.

So yea. What do you think?

A prom where the main theme is lust, sloth, and gluttony...

Sounds like a blast, count me in.

Don't see why they would want to do it, but don't see why they can't.

It doesn't matter what you theme it, attendees will generally dress and act the same. My prom had some Harlequin theme for the after party, and people still came drunk, blew coke in the bathroom and had sex afterwards. It mostly sounds like a decorative theme anyway.

That actually sounds like a really interesting prom theme. I'd go.

Prom is pretty much the same everywhere; the theme is just to give it decoration. Or sometimes for a little fun. Senior year the theme was Hollywood or the Red Carpet or something of that sort. We always do two Grand Marches; a serious one with all the dates/groups together all fancy like, and then a silly one for anyone who wants to to be silly. Generally it's just a bunch of the girls borrowing jackets from the guys and carrying eachother, doing a tango, or pretending (or not pretending) to kiss. In keeping with the theme, I was the last person to do the silly march. In my V for Vendetta costume.

Audience reaction: priceless.
