What would you do if you were told by a doctor you had three weeks to live? Me and my friend Bryony had a conversation like this a while ago. She said that she'd do all the life-endangering activities she'd been too worried to do before, like parachuting or bungying. I think personally, I'd spend most of the time depressed and not enjoying myself at all. I think knowing when I was going to die would be awful.
How about you?

Oh, man, what an AWFUL scenario.
I agree with your friend Bryony - I'd go to places that I've always wanted to go to, do stuff I've always wanted to do, and spend a lot of time with my family/friends.
Still doesn't make it not an awful scenario

PS: some of your posts are pretty deathly, huh.

Wow, that's hard. Hmm, I would probably do things I don't normally do. Like, getting bad grades , flipping a teacher off stuff like that.

For myself, I wouldn't see any value in having experiences which would disappear when I die. Instead, I'd spend three weeks planning the most badass wake and funeral ever. Let those who live on (and who are sober enough afterward) remember the pyrotechnics - especially when they're told that my ashes are intermixed with the fireworks.

I'd probably plan a great funeral ("I put the fun in funeral") and sort out who gets what of my stuff.
I know I'd spend a lot of time with friends and family and make sure we get lots of pictures and videos of us having a good time.
I wouldn't tell them.
I wouldn't tell anyone.
Not until the night before or something.
I just realised, if it was three weeks from now, I probably wouldn't see my family or my friends from back home again. Maybe I could visit them for a weekend or something.
Though I'd prefer to come back here, this place is lovely, a nice place to die. I have friends here too, so I can have fun with them too.
I think I'm putting far too much thought into this.

I'd be responsible, but also a bit dirty.
#1 - Life insurance - not sure what the rules are, but I'd try to get insured for 2.5 million dollars.
#2 - I'd make sure that my genes would survive - banks, woman of my life.
#3 - Make out a will - leave my stocks, bonds, savings, etc to the ones I love.
#4 - Go to a whole bunch of places I wouldn't dare go if I would still live. Greece, Germany, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Arizona. Any place that is expensive, and make sure that I enjoyed everything.
#5 - Try and work hard to make some lasting contribution to science - even if I could steer them in the right direction for something, like cheaper energy, theoretical physics. Do something that is too dangerous for a normal person to do (ie, maybe do a nuclear test - that might actually save me)
#6 - Tell very few about my impending doom - just the ones that I can trust for a cheap burial that will go against everyone else's desires. I don't want to be in a casket, an eternity in a box. I want to be cremated, but not scattered. My mind was scattered, but I want to be in my trophy - my favorite trophy from the Dept of Energy competition I led, and a massive sapphire put on top.

...dear God. D:
I probably wouldn't go around telling people. It would get annoying because I'm sure they would treat me differently. Maybe just a handful of close people..
It would be fun to try some new things that I hadn't, but in all honesty that's really not going to matter. So for the most part I would live normally, though I would probably not have a very positive outlook on life.
As for a funeral...my family probably would only be able to afford the most basic of funerals, so nothing special there, which is perfectly fine by me.

1. Tell no-one
2. Dump loser boyfriend
3. Run into arms of ex-boyfriend
4. Quit UNI!
5. Give all money to charity
6. Thoroughly enrich lives of small children in Sister-Act-2-esque film montage manner
7. Get pee-pee out in front of a tank for photo-op (oppose war in process)
8. Arrange a surprise funeral-party-thingy with video message for friends and family
And you know, all that cool exciting stuff like base-jumping. If you only have 3 weeks, it just means you have to squeeze a lifetime's worth of crazy deeds into a short short time!

So... isn't the point to just go ahead and do all that crazy junk now, because there's no point in waiting until you're gonna die?

hear, hear, cellblock.
I wouldn't care. i'd just tell people, and enjoy the caringfulness and attention and have some relly kickass last words.
pretend to die in front of everybody on the 20th day and be like hahahahaha suckers jk jk lol.
I'd probly do something like that.
Why would I want to do crazy things? that'd be boring.
Why not tell people? you get lots of attention and people treat you better so you're happy. Better to go out laughing than crying and emo.

I wouldn't tell anybody. I don't like attention or pity.
I'd just try to make those three weeks the best possible.

I'd live my life. Exactly the same as I am right now.
Because if I radically changed, my friends would know something was up. And then I'd die. And it would suck to hit them with the sudden realization that I was acting that way because I knew what was coming.
No, I'd live my same old life, still having fun when and where I can. And then, the day of my death, I'd get my friends together and we'd hang out. And then maybe I'd tell them. I suppose it would be mean to just kinda die while sitting on their couch without giving them a heads up.
Oh, and I'd insist they all go out to a good bar to celebrate after I'm gone. No pitiful mourning; have a party on my grave.

What I would do?
1. Advance on life insurance.
2. Catch all the Pokémon in my Sapphire Version.
3. Break the world record for completing the PokéDex in a Pokémon game without cheating (if there is one ).
4. Meet Tim Allen.
5. Get married.
6. Die if the life insurance fails!

What idiot insurance company is going to grant you a life insurance plan which would pay off in the event of your termination by illness?

I think if I were old enough to get into serious debt I would, and in my will I'd leave it to my german teacher

As I just stated in the post previous to yours, you're not going to get covered for your preexisting condition.
Also, debt isn't transferred or inherited in most countries which follow a common or Napoleanic legal code. Instead, debt is paid out of the estate in a priority established by the court, and any remaining estate value is distributed as best fits the circumstances.
