There's too many serious discussions, so I'm going make a topic about when we were kids (or in some cases still are kids) and how we had imaginary or invisible friends and/or stuffed animals (don't lie, we all had one or the other at some point.)

After all when you were 6 and that mean 3rd grader always picked on you but your parents never listened to your incessant whining about it, who was there for you? That's right, Fluffy McSnugglebottom. When you got a bad score on your spelling test and were grounded for a week, who did you talk to? That's right, Steve...or whatever you named your imaginary friend.

Anyway, do you remember them? Do you still sleep with that teddy bear under your pillow? Share your thoughts.

Also, I found this really cool point-and-click game related to the topic. Basically you're a therapist for personified stuffed animals that are psycholgically broken.

http://www.parapluesch.de/

Don't worry, there's an English option. Go ahead, have fun, and Peace Out!

Well.

My main stuffed toy that I held dear to me were my Super Mario plushies. I always used to pile them next to my pillow, and I'd talk to them before going to bed and such. Bowser always told good jokes, and Mario always had good advice to share. We all made fun of Luigi of course. :P

I also had an imaginary friend. He was the same as me, except he was all badass and stuff. His name was Derek. :x

And mine even wore a vest. To this day, he's sitting on a shelf above my closet.

I also had an excessively large collection of stuffed 101 Dalmatians dogs and a whole bunch of Snoopy in all sizes, including one that was about 3 feet tall.

Didn't you make a thread with the link to that site forever and a half ago? I seem to remember it, I played it not too long ago.

ANYWAY.

...I have several plushies. The ones I care about the most are my Mew and Toon Link plushies. (shut up they're cute.) I also want more plushies. The next time I play international shopper I'm going to get a Kirby plushie. :3

Uh, I think my imaginary friend's name was Mark. He never really responded to any conversation I tried to start. So he was basically an invisible deaf-mute. He kind of disappeared when I was seven. :(

I never had an imaginary friend as far as I can remember, and while I have plushies I don't talk to them and stuff, just treat them as huggable material to snuggle with. My favourite huggable material isn't a plushie though, it's the pillow I used to use when I was a baby heh. It's way too small to be a pillow for me now. It's almost too small to hug, in fact =p

My friend told me this recently: "Humans are disgusting. That's why kids have imaginary friends". I thought it was kinda funny.

Oh, boy. When I was little I used to play with my stuffed toys till I was in the 3rd grade. My best friend and I used to play with our monkeys around the house almost everyday I came over.

My favourite was Diddy the monkey, a small bean stuffed monkey. I remember crying when I brought him to school one day, and when my friend wanted to see him I refused and we accidently ripped his head off. I got the name from my favourite game at the time Donkey Kong Land 2 for gameboy.

I'll make a note to take a photo of my toys very soon.

S'pose in French I've got a 'poubelle de nounours' (Bin of teddys :P) that I've never been able to get rid off since I was young.

I still have Tigey. My tiger teddy. I got him when I was two, and I used to chew his whiskers, so they're kinda curly now. :X

I never had an imaginary friend. ;-; I just don't think I really needed one.
Actually wait. Just as I typed that, I remembered one. He was called Norman (lol) and he was on my hand, and when I'd wash them, I'd tell him to 'hold on tight!'. He disappeared about three days later. :P

My friend's brother and sister had ghost friends when they were small, though. They were aged four and two, and they kept talking about two friends who would play with them in their rooms, but their mam never saw them. Their mam asked where they lived and they brought her to an old, abandoned house on a hill. This was in Melbourne, Austrailia.

Also, I would cry when giving away my teddies, lol.

I used to sleep with about 20-30 toys in my bed when I was up to 9 years old.

I used to talk to them and hold false birthdays for them (choosing any random day as I could never remember the actual day).

I usually named them after the manufacturing company written on the tag. Eg, I had a Beaver toy made by a company called Gund, so that was its name.

I had about 35+ stuffed penguins and they all slept on my bed with me. I've been in love with penguins since at least kindergarten, and I collected them for a while. I think my mother made me get rid of them when I was in middle school. I was pretty upset. I think they all had names, and some of them had occupations like Bluey who was a lawyer (needless to say, a lot of people were sued). One of my uncle's favorite things to do was to take our stuffed animals and give them psychotic, perverted, or abusive personalities.

The first instance of this was "Mohany," a stuffed tiger my brother would sometimes claim to be his wife. My uncle turned her into an alcoholic man-beater and went as far as to take pictures of her passed out on the floor with a fifth of Vodka and showed my brother. He was really pissed. Then there was Attempted Murder Bear, who threatened and kicked the **** out of you, but never actually went all the way ("Big Erns," my cousin's Ernie from Sesame Street would play a similar role but he actually held a knife from time to time and almost seriously threatened to cut us).

One day my uncle was asking the names of some of my new stuffed animals, and I showed him a penguin I don't remember the name of, but my uncle said, "No, I think his name should be Enis." Of course, I didn't think that was a very good idea, but still, I showed him Enis' friend, a seal I named "Schroder," and my uncle responded asking, "What was that? You named him "Scrotum?" Since then my uncle would tell stories of Enis and Scrotum ladened with sexual innuendos. I think I was like 10 or 11 at the time.

All of this was very amusing to me. Apparently so much so that I live with my uncle now.

I HAVE THE MOST CUDDLY TOYS OUT OF EVERYONE ON PSYPOKE.
Seriously, I have several hundred. I used to love them, and I can't bear to throw them away or anything. I just leave them on the top bunk of my bunk bed. Up until about a year ago, I slept with a few favourites in my bed. One large one I used as a kind a large pillow though, and the other ones just lay near the reading lamp attacked to the wall by my bed.
I never had an imaginary friend though. At the age you have them, I had a really good best friend anyway. She used to come round to my house like, three times a week and stuff.
I'll take a photo of my top bunk to prove the fact stated at the top of the post when I can be bothered.

Did anyone used to really get into playing with their toys?

When I was little, I would have all my Star Wars toys and I would make up actual stories and stuff. One would be best friends with the other, then they'd be walking along and one would kill the other, then revenge would be taken and then Princess Leia would be all crying. Then someone would fly the ship around unnecessarily, etc etc.

I really got into it! And I loved my toy cars, too.

I tried picking up some toys a while ago and seeing if I could have the countless HOURS and HOURS of fun I used to have, but.. it wasn't the same.

Yes, I used to spend countless hours playing with action figures, cars, and toy animals. Back in the day, I could probably entertain myself for days by playing make believe and acting out stories that I made up.

I've never had imaginary friends, so I can't really comment on that. Although I thin that I might have once pretended that my best friend was still around after I moved away.

I still sleep with my stuffed animals.

I used to have tons and tons of 'em...but I 'lost' a majority of them, all at the same time. Let's just say I was having one of my crazy moments.

I loved giving my barbie dolls and animals hair cuts..I had this one monkey with velcro on his hands that I named 'Afro Monkey' after doing a poor job of cutting his hair. I don't know what happened to him. One of the stuffed animals I still have whose 'hair' I 'did' is a nameless yellow duck (I'll call him Ducky for now). He has one of those long, stretchy bandage things that you put over large wounds tied around his neck. Ducky was separated from his friends and family long ago, and all he wants now is just to get home again..I made up his story years ago, and I still follow his adventure(s) today. :D

I own a giant (and I mean giant) caterpillar, and he's one of my favorites. I won him at a ring toss game when I went to Worlds Of Fun quite a few years ago. He's really long...if I attempt to make him 'stand', he's taller than me. His fur is in a pattern of different colors, and he's missing one antennae (which made me upset when I noticed it). I also own a stuffed corn snake who isn't nearly as long, and he's missing his tongue, but he's pretty. My sister tried to name him Blaze, but I didn't like that name, so we just call him Snakey. I bought him at Exploration Place.

I play games with my stuffed animals and my sister occasionally, and I still enjoy sitting in silence, making towers, words and patterns with building blocks. It really wipes me out when I do, though; when I started playing with them again for the first time in years, I couldn't do one thing without resting for a few minutes afterwards. D: It hurts your brain.

As far as imaginary friends go..I've had a number of them. The one I remember most vividly is this guy who oddly looked just like Link..and I didn't even know who Link was back then, which is weird. He had a bunch of clones/relatives and they were all really good musicians. I should make a new one, imaginary friends are so cool..

I liked playing with bugs, too. Pill bugs were my favorite. My friends and I would often go out into my yard and lift up the huge logs around our 'garden' (which was just a bunch of weeds), and just hang out with whatever we found.

Yeah, I know, I'm insane. You don't have to remind me. ;-;

I had loads of cuddley toys that lay in my bed all day. (changing sheets was a nightmare)
My favourite was Jaja Binks (sp?) I now understand peoples hatred for him.

As for imaginery friends I was really lame. One night my brother said something about imaginery friends,
and I claimed I had like 5. All unoriginally named after fellow students.

I once had a "fun time" with a stuffed animal. I was 13 and just blossoming. Ahh...the memories.

I still have almost every stuffed animal that I ever owned. There aren't that many of them, just a small regiment of my most trusted companions. Snakey the Snake, Toucky the Toucan, Guinea the Guinea Pig, Rabby the Rabbit, Snakey II (you'll note that naming has never been my forte; most likely, my children shall be called Sonny and Lassie). I'll be frank and admit that I slept with them well until I was 11 or 12 (though I never went quite as far as KOL40).

I didn't have imaginary friends per ser, though I suppose the legions of enemy robots and allied soldiers that I envisioned for my intricate war games when out on family walks might count. I was quite the visionary; I was able to imagine whole fleets of spaceships waging intense dogfights over the English countrside in near-3D detail. Though that ability has diminished somewhat in my adolescent years, I still retain a glimmer of that imagination.

Thankfully for my parents, I was never one to proclaim that my fictions were in fact real; for that matter, I did not vocalise them much either, except when my dear cousin joined in my grand battles (always as the subordinate officer, by his own wishes; I do not intend to speculate whether this is a reflection of his persona as a whole). Had I been a little less tactful, I would likely be typing this from the inside of a rubber-lined cell whilst being injected with a mixture of drugs.

Edit: Apparently, the Adminship of Psypoke are racist against our fowl friends, and to a lesser extent the common barman.

Some of my favorites. Cherrim and Shoyru are recent additions, but the others are all mostly pretty old.

And yes, that is Buttercup from PowerPuff girls. She's my favorite of the three. <3

I never had imaginary friend but i talk wiht my plushies even these days, it just makes me feel better to have someone who listens and wont talk before you have said what you had to say. Most of all i have been talking with my Pichu, he is just so cute and that helps me to talk with him and second one is my plushie Darkrai, he is quite new one in my plushie family so i havent been talking with him much yet but i always take him with me where ever i go, i cant take Pichu with me coz he really doesnt like to go out. He says that it's more fun to talk in side the house. But that's why i have my Darkrai with me ^^ People do tease me in school coz i have plushie with me but it doesnt matter it makes me feel better and gives me extra power to keep something i like a lot with me ^^ i think every people should have their fav toy/plushie/or something with their work or in school, it really helps a lot ^^

I had both my own and my younger sibling's plushies carefully arranged in small places around my bedroom, but he took his back a few months ago. I still have his Jigglypuff on its original cardboard platform. My favourites are my Eevee <3 , my large Pikachu and my brothers large Greymon. Cuddling or naming toys has never been something that I have been interested in, but I find myself carefully arranging Eevee's fur when cleaning my bedroom has failed, (it can be quite a daunting task).

I never had an imaginery friend because I never saw the point in friends as a child, although I realized they could be useful to share the misery. I spent my time tidying my bedroom and making those dumb shoebox bedrooms for candy-trolls. Due to my sweet-tooth, I had a lot of these trolls - five a week for two years. I threw the last of them away two years ago.

Oh, I also had a mostly stuffed doll when I was 4-6 years old that i absolutely despised. It was a boy in powder-blue overalls, with a 'jaunty' cap, effeminate hands, brown eyeshadow-like rings and pink hair. I used to lock it in a toy-bin - it was so freaky. Was it a boy, a girl, a monster trying to replicate the human form so it could attack whilst I was sleeping. :!:  I finally got rid of it 5 years ago but it turned out that my mother had saved the blasted thing - she gave it back to me 5 months ago. It is currently sitting in a box on my floor, turned to face the wall so that it does not creep me out at night. (Yes, I am a whoss.) One of these days I will chuck it out, but only when its guard is down ...
