POKEMON SNAP WALKTHROUGH
River

The River starts off with three Poliwag in the bank to the right, and past that, three Bulbasaur hiding in the tree stumps on the bank to the left. You'll start noticing some water Pokemon that will jump from the water, such as Shellder and Cloyster. Incidentally, there are some vacant-looking Slowpoke on the left. A cloud of noxious brown gas rises from a sleeping Vileplume on your right as you round a bend in the River course.
You might notice a Psyduck swimming around. It'll lead you to where four Metapod hang from the growth above. Further down, on a clearing to the right and in a clearing with a large red switch, you'll spot some suspicious moving objects inside the wall - upon closer inspection, they'll reveal themselves to be Porygon. Finally, near the end of the course, you'll see a Pikachu poking its head out of a tree stump.
Note that on the River course, the direction you face will influence the position of the Zero-One. Face left and you'll move off in that direction; face right and you'll move right. Use this to your advantage to get closer to Pokemon like Bulbasaur, Slowpoke and Vileplume.
The River's Pokemon Sign is a Cubone. When you approach the Vileplume, play the PokeFlute to wake it up. Doing so will stop the noxious gases and give you a clear view of the rock formation behind it - a Cubone.

In order to progress to the next course, you'll need a Pester Ball. You see, in plain view, a switch on the right side of the river, as well as something moving in the walls behind it. Throw a Pester Ball into the wall, and a Porygon will jump out, activating the switch and granting you access to the Cave.

Pokemon Details
Magikarp |
By throwing items into the river at any time during the course, you might be lucky and a Magikarp will jump out. Same as before, you'll get good Pose points if you catch it doing a Splash attack.
Poliwag |
There are three Poliwag on the bank to the right as you start the course. Throw a Pester Ball at the first one, and it'll run to the second. Throw a Pester Ball at the second, and both will run to the third. Throw another one, and all three will scurry down the bank and into the river. Your best shot will come just as they're about to dive into the river, so try to Dash right in front of them as they're about to do so. Once they're in the river, they'll continue to splash in and out of the water a few times, but pictures now won't be as good as the one before.
Bulbasaur |
On the left, throw a Pester Ball at the Bulbasaur hiding in the tree stump to make it come out. Throw an apple to lure it closer to the river and in front of the middle stump, and it will be joined by another Bulbasaur coming out of the log. You can try to lure the both of them to the third stump, where you can chase another Bulbasaur out with a Pester Ball, but you might run out of time. Snap a picture of Bulbasaur as it flips for good Pose points, and try to fit in the other Bulbasaur for Same Pokemon points too.
Shellder |
Shellder can be difficult to capture. When you see the Slowpoke and the Shellder sign, start aiming into the water in front of you. Three or four Shellder should float up out of the water and back in - that's your chance to snap a shot. Size and Technique can be difficult to score in, so try the best you can. Don't forget the Same Pokemon bonus too.
Slowpoke |
There are two Slowpoke on your left by the Shellder signs that are vacantly staring (as they do) into space. Throw them some food and snap them as they feed. You can also get a pretty good shot by leading them to the Shellder signs with some Pokemon Food - you'll need to throw well in advance because they're quite slow! They'll turn around and start fishing with their tails; soon after, it'll get a bite from a Shellder - snap it now and you'll get some good Pose points.
Slowbro |
Of course, when a Shellder bites a Slowpoke tail, you get a Slowbro! Again, lure the Slowpoke to the Shellder sign as soon as you can so you have ample time to get a Slowbro shot. When it evolves, play the PokeFlute and Slowbro will face you attentively, or you can throw more food and it'll scurry over to feed.
Vileplume |
After the first Slowpoke, you'll see some noxious gas rising from a white-spotted red plant on the right of the river. Play the PokeFlute and the Vileplume will spring to life and dance for you!
Psyduck |
As you come around the bend, they'll be a Psyduck wading around. Knock it with some Pokemon Food and it'll sink into the water. Throw some more Food into the water, and hopefully, a Psyduck will splash out of the water. If it's sparkling, you'll get more Pose points. If you miss this Psyduck, there's another just after the Metapod. It seems throwing apples into the area where that Psyduck is swimming will get more Psyduck to jump out of the water, so you can try for a Same Pokemon bonus too.
Metapod |
You'll see four Metapod hanging from a large tree over the river. Aim a Pester Ball at the last Metapod, and it will descend close to the river. Run the Zero-One into it (the direction you are facing will determine the flow of the vehicle), and you'll halt. Throw Pester Balls at the last three and grab a photo for some good Same Pokemon points.
Cloyster |
After Psyduck, you'll start seeing some Shellder rising up out of the water, but this time, up to three Cloyster may join them as well. Cloyster can be hard to capture, so your best bet is to Dash when you see one and follow it until it starts to sink towards the water. Grab a picture of it when it is close to the water and is facing you.
Porygon |
You'll see two weird moving objects in the walls just after Metapod. Throw a Pester Ball at them and Porygon will emerge. Throw another Pester Ball, and Porygon's Camouflage will disappear. Lure them together with some Pokemon Food and grab a picture as they happily munch for max Pose and Same Pokemon points. There's another Porygon further down, next to a red switch, but driving that out of the wall will automatically end the level.
Pikachu |
Just before the end of the level, you'll spot a Pikachu popping in and out of a tree stump on the left. Hit it with a Pester Ball and it'll bolt out in a flash of sparkles. Snap it racing around for the Speed Pikachu Special bonus.
