POKEMON SNAP WALKTHROUGH

Beach

You start off by the coast of the Beach, moving down past Pidgey, Doduo, Pikachu and Butterfree. Out in the ocean, you'll spot a Lapras, before heading inland past a sleeping Snorlax, more Butterfree and a Meowth on a hill. Past that is a field of flowers where a Scyther is thrashing about. You'll see more Butterfree flying about. A Meowth will chase a Pidgey out of the flowers and down to the coast. You'll pass two tree stumps and cross a bridge over a stream where you might for some Magikarp. Beyond that, there is a clump of tall grass where another Scyther is thrashing about. A Doduo and another Meowth chasing a Pidgey will bolt out of the grass as well.

Further on, on the left side of the track, an Eevee will be playing with a curled-up Chansey. On the right, a Kangaskhan will be flailing around about a patch of flowers. As you enter the rocks, look right and you'll see two Pidgey corner a Meowth and use their Gust attack. You may find some more Magikarp in the pool to your left as you approach the exit portal.

The Beach's Pokemon Sign is a Kingler, which appears on your left as you pass the surfboard on the right. Look back as you pass the crate/rock structures, and they will align in the formation of a Kingler.

In order to progress to the next course, you must take pictures of six different Pokemon.

Pokemon Details

Pidgey

Pidgey will be the first Pokemon you see. If you don't have Pester Balls or the Dash Engine yet, the best Pidgey shot you can take will be near the end, where you'll find two Pidgey attacking a Meowth with Gust. Snapping this will earn you the Gust-Using Pidgey Special bonus.

Once you do get the two aforementioned items, you can drive the Zero-One into the Pidgey to halt, or stun them. Either way, you'll make them fly behind you, getting good Pose points.

Doduo

There are two Doduo on the course: one at the start just after the Pidgey and another one that will emerge from tall grass with Meowth and Pidgey. Again, without any items, you won't get a very high score. When you get the Pester Ball, use it on Doduo and get a picture of it recovering from the gas for extra Pose points.

Pikachu

A Pikachu will be standing on the sand just after Doduo. If you have Pokemon Food, you can throw a few and lure it towards the nearby surfboard where you'll get the Surfing Pikachu Special bonus. If you have PokeFlute, play it and Pikachu will let out a few bolts of electricity for extra Pose points.

As you approach the patch of flowers further on, throw Pester Balls to try and flush Scyther out. Doing so will cause two Pikachu to run out onto the tree stumps just after the flowers. Snap a picture to get the Pikachu on a Stump Special bonus. Again, play the PokeFlute to cause both Pikachu to jolt some electricity.

Butterfree

There are several Butterfree flying throughout the course, often in groups of two; however they don't fly very close to each other, meaning Same Pokemon and Size are a trade-off. None of the items you have will affect your pictures either, so the best approach is to try and predict its movements and hold your camera ready.

Lapras

A shy Pokemon, Lapras can be found floating out in the ocean as you pass Pikachu and the surfboard. Taking a picture now won't earn you a good Size score, but do so anyway. Lapras will reappear near the first patch of tall grass; snap it again. It'll eventually see you're no threat, and when you encounter Eevee, look towards the ocean and you'll see one surface close to you, with two friends on the horizon. A relaxed Lapras (it surfaces with its head bobbed, then levels it) will grab a lot of Pose points.

Snorlax

As you start heading inland, you'll pass by a sleeping Snorlax. Taking a picture won't do anything - Oak won't even be able to identify the Pokemon. You'll need to return with some items.

A Pester Ball will wake Snorlax up long enough to grab a picture of it scratching its tummy, but the PokeFlute's tunes will wake it up fully. Change the tune and Snorlax will dance! The third song will get you the most Pose points.

Meowth

You'll find four Meowth on this course, one is one a ledge above the track, two of them will emerge from tall grass chasey a Pidgey, and the final one is raiding a Pidgey's nest at the end of the course. You can hit the two chasing the Pidgey with a Pester Ball for a funny Pose bonus, and you can save the final Meowth from the Pidgey at the end to get it to dance, but your most points will come from the Meowth on the ledge. Knock it down with a Pester Ball for some unique poses, then play the PokeFlute and it'll dance for you.

Scyther

There are two Scyther, one hiding in the flower bed just after the Meowth on the ledge, and one in the tall grass on the left as you cross the bridge. You'll notice a flurry of grass shavings flying out from these two areas. You will need to throw Pester Balls into the grass to flush it out of hiding. If you're having trouble, use the Dash Engine to collide with Meowth or Doduo to buy more time. Once Scyther pops its head up from the grass, it will chop itself loose, slash around for a moment making a fighting stance, and then fly away. Your best bet for pose points will be when Scyther stretches out and slashes its scythes through the air.

Magikarp

The Beach isn't the best course for Magikarp photography, but if you want one anyway, you'll need Pokemon Food or Pester Balls. Throw them into the water as you cross the bridge past the first Scyther, and one may emerge from the water and do a Splash attack for extra Pose points. For better Size points, throw your items closer to the Zero-One. You can also throw items into the pond near the end of the course, but there's not a lot of time before you're sucked into the portal.

Eevee

As you pass the second Scyther, you'll see an Eevee rolling a cute pink ball around some rocks. It'll be too preoccupied with its toy to take a good picture, or even react to items, but you can throw a Pester Ball (MEANIE :[!) or an apple at the pink ball to reveal Chansey. You can now feed Eevee or make it dance with the PokeFlute, but you'll get the most Pose points for its reaction when Chansey unfurls.

Chansey

As mentioned before, the pink ball that Eevee's rolling around is in fact Chansey, and will remain unrecognisable to Professor Oak as a pink ball. So throw an apple or a Pester Ball to make it unfurl - aim early so you have more time. While unfurled, it'll react to both food and Pester Balls, but you'll get the most points for playing the PokeFlute and making Chansey do the fabled Chansey Dance :3

Kangaskhan

Kangaskhan is across from Eevee and Chansey and to the left of where you'll see Lapras if you've been tracking it; this makes this part of the Beach very busy, and you probably won't be able to get good pictures of all four Pokemon at once, so venture here for good pictures of these Pokemon separately. Once you get PokeFood or Pester Balls, throw one at Kangaskhan, who will turn around from the ocean to come next to the Zero-One and roar at you. Roaring will get you good pose points, but you can play the PokeFlute and it'll dance happily for you for some extra pose points.
