POKEMON SNAP SPECIALS AND POSES
Poses
Most decent poses will earn you a cool 1000 points for the Pose category when Professor Oak rates your photos. Certain poses of Pokemon in action will earn you a good score over 1000. You can get an average Pose score by throwing a Pester Ball, and you'll get 800 points for a Pokemon's stunned or knocked-out face unless otherwise stated.
 Bulbasaur
| Oh! What a happy face! (1200 points)
River: Throw Bulbasaur some Pokemon Food for this pose. |
 Charmander
| Oh! It looks happy! (1200 points)
Volcano: Throw Charmander some Pokemon Food for this pose. |
 Charizard
| Oh! What a flame! (1250 points)
Volcano: Hit Charizard with a Pester Ball and it will use its Flamethrower attack. |
 Squirtle
| Oh! It's happy! (1100 points)
Valley: Throw Squirtle some Pokemon Food for this pose. |
 Pidgey
| Oh! It seems to be screeching. (1250 points)
Beach: Snap a good picture of the Gust-using Pidgey at the end of the course. They should be screeching at the same time. |
 Pikachu
| This pose zaps even me! (1300 points)
Beach, Tunnel: Play the PokeFlute and Pikachu will use a Thundershock attack. |
Oh! This is very lively! (1250 points)
Beach: Throw some food at Pikachu and take a picture as it does a backflip. |
 Sandshrew
| Oh! It's about to pop up. (1350 points)
Valley: Snap a picture just as Sandshrew emerges from the ground. |
 Sandslash
| Oh! It's about to pop up. (1400 points)
Valley: Snap a picture just as Sandslash emerges from the ground. |
Oh! It's happy. (1050 points)
Valley: Feed Sandslash some Pokemon Food and snap a picture of it jumping with glee. |
 Jigglypuff
| Oh! It's singing cheerfully! (1400 points)
Cave: If you save at least one of the Jigglypuff, it will be at a purple stage near the end of the course, singing. Snap a picture of the one singing (the other two just float around). |
Oh! That's a shame... (1200 points)
Cave: Hit Jigglypuff with a Pester Ball and snap a picture while its eyes are swirly. |
 Vileplume
| Oh! It's rockin'! (1200 points)
River: Play the second tune on the PokeFlute. |
 Meowth
| Oh! A dancing Meowth! (1200 points)
Beach: Hit the first Meowth (just after Snorlax) with a Pester Ball and when you see it just around the corner, play the PokeFlute. |
 Psyduck
| Oh! What a jump! (1200 points)
River: After hitting Psyduck with a Pester Ball, throw some items into the water and sometimes it will jump out with sparkles. |
 Mankey
| Oh! Mankey got blasted! (1250 points)
Valley: Throw a Pester Ball at the Mankey on the ledge just after Sandslash and take a picture of it tumbling backwards. |
Oh! It's Mankey in the sky! (1250 points)
Valley: Throw a Pester Ball at the Mankey by the switch and take a picture of it while it is off the ground. |
 Growlithe
| Oh! Tons of embers! (1300 points)
Volcano: After chasing one out from the magma hole, snap a picture of it shaking off its embers. |
 Arcanine
| Oh! So many of embers! (1200 points)
Volcano: After chasing one out from the magma hole, snap a picture of it shaking off its embers. |
 Poliwag
| Oh! It's about to jump in! (1150 points)
River: Snap a picture just as they jump from the bank into the water. |
 Victreebel
| Oh! It's about to leap out. (1300 points)
Cave: Snap a picture just as Victreebel emerges from the water. |
 Graveler
| Oh! It fell. (1200 points)
Valley: Throw a Pester Ball at the two Geodude by Sandslash. This will cause Graveler to fall - snap a picture of it while it's recovering on the ground. |
 Rapidash
| Oh! It's neighing. (1200 points)
Volcano: Throw an apple in front of Rapidash (don't hit it) and it will stand on its hind legs and neigh. |
 Slowpoke
| It got a bite! (1200 points)
River: Take a photograph of Slowpoke just as it has caught a Shellder. |
 Doduo
| Oh! You hit em'! (1300 points)
Beach: Throw a Pester Ball at Doduo and take a picture while it's passed out. |
Oh! It's about to wake up (1300 points)
Beach: After hitting it with a Pester Ball, snap a picture just as it is getting up. |
 Grimer
| Oh! It's happy. (1200 points)
Cave: Toss a Pester Ball at Grimer and snap it as the Pester Ball hits. |
 Electrode
| Oh! It exploded! (1200 points)
Tunnel: Take a picture just as Electrode turns white while exploding. |
 Chansey
| Oh! It looks jolly. (1200 points)
Beach: Toss an item at it to make it unfurl. Then toss an apple and it will jump up and down gleefully - snap a picture of Chansey while it's doing this. |
 Kangaskhan
| Oh! What an interesting pose! (1050 points)
Beach: After getting its attention with a Pester Ball or an apple, play the PokeFlute and it will dance. |
 Goldeen
| Oh! What a splash! (1200 points)
Valley: Occasionally Goldeen will sparkle when it splashes out of the water. Take a photo of this. |
 Scyther
| Oh! This is a fighting pose. (1300 points)
Beach: After chasing it out of the tall grass, it will slash its scythes around before flying off. Grab a photo of it slashing its scythes. |
 Jynx
| Oh! What a jolly dance! (1200 points)
Cave: Play the third tune on the PokeFlute. |
 Electabuzz
| Oh! It looks yummy! (1200 points)
Tunnel: After releasing Zapdos from the egg, throw some Pokemon Food at the two Electabuzz in the next room. Snap a picture as they feed. |
 Magmar
| Oh! It looks hot! (1200 points)
Volcano: Get a picture of Magmar using Flamethrower by making it compete for an apple. You can make it compete with Charmander or the other Magmar. |
 Magikarp
| Oh! What a splash! (1200 points)
Beach, Tunnel, Volcano, River, Cave, Valley: Occasionally Magikarp will sparkle when it splashes out of the water. Take a photo of this. |
Oh! It's splashing! (1200 points)
Valley: Hit the Magikarp in front of the first Mankey, and Mankey will boot it to where the Graveler trio are. Snap a picture while it's flailing helplessly on the ground. |
 Gyarados
| Oh! How powerful! (1350 points)
Valley: It will let loose a Water Gun attack after it emerges from the waterfall. Take a picture of this. Alternatively, throw a Pester Ball for the same reaction. |
Oh! It's furious! (1200 points)
Valley: Snap a picture of Gyarados as it roars. Listen for the audio cue. |
 Ditto
| Oh! It's happy. (1150 points)
Cave: Throw a Pester Ball to cancel Ditto's transform. Then throw some Pokemon Food and snap it as it feeds. |
 Eevee
| Oh! It's happy. (1250 points)
Beach: Either snap Eevee's reaction as it watches Chansey unfurl (it will jump up and down) or feed it some Pokemon Food. |
 Porygon
| Oh! It sure is jolly! (1400 points)
River: Hit Porygon with one Pester Ball to make it come out of the wall. Hit it with another to break its Camouflage. Then feed it some food and take a picture. |
 Snorlax
| Oh! What a jolly dance! (1200 points)
Beach: Play the third tune on the PokeFlute. |
 Articuno
| Oh! How beautiful! (1350 points)
Cave: Take a picture of Articuno just as it breaks out of the egg. |
 Zapdos
| Oh! What a Thunder Jolt! (1350 points)
Tunnel: Take a picture of Zapdos just as it breaks out of the egg. |
 Moltres
| Oh! What a wonderful pose! (1350 points)
Volcano: After breaking out of the egg, Moltres will fly over the Magmar and shake some embers off. Snap a picture of it doing so. |
 Dratini
| Oh! What an amazing jump! (1200 points)
Valley: Occasionally Dratini will sparkle when it splashes out of the water. Take a photo of this. |
 Dragonite
| Oh! It's Dragonite! (1200 points)
Valley: After rising from the whirlpool, Dragonite will float into the air and roar three times. Take a picture of it while it is roaring. |
Specials
Certain Pokemon, when doing a particular extraordinary action, will give you a set number of points that Professor Oak will award in a category outside of Pose. The following is a list of such specials.
Pidgey
|
Beach: Gust-using Pidgey (500 points)
Near the end, after encountering Kangaskhan, you'll find two Pidgey attacking a Meowth with Gust. Snapping this will earn you the Gust-Using Pidgey Special bonus.
Pikachu
|
Beach: Surfing Pikachu (1000 points) and Pikachu on a Stump (1300 points)
On the Beach, you'll find two Pikachu specials. Firstly, at the beginning of the course, just after Doduo dashes in front of the Zero-One, you'll see a Pikachu and a surfboard further on. Throw some Pokemon Food to lure it closer to the surfboard, and it'll get on and start doing some poses. Snap a picture for the Surfing Pikachu Special. Later, when you encounter a large flower patch after meeting Snorlax, throw some Pester Balls in and if you're good, you'll hit a Scyther. It'll fly out of the patch and chase two Pikachu out onto the stumps just beyond the flowers. Snap them for the Pikachu on a Stump Special bonus.
Tunnel: Pikachu on a Ball (600 points)
At the start of the course, take a few pictures of the Pikachu standing by the emergency telephone pole. It'll run away and hop onto the Electrode that's rolling about. Snap a picture for the Pikachu on a Ball Special.
River: Speed Pikachu (800 points)
Just before the end of the level, you'll spot a Pikachu popping in and out of a tree stump on the left. Hit it with a Pester Ball and it'll bolt out in a flash of sparkles. Snap it racing around for the Speed Pikachu Special bonus.
Cave: Balloon Pikachu (1600 points) and Flying Pikachu (2000 points)
You'll find two Pikachu specials in the Cave. After encountering Weepinbell, you'll descend past a water curtain where you'll see a Zubat holding a Pikachu. Using your awesome aiming skills, bombard the Zubat with Pester Balls and hopefully one of them will hit. Zubat will drop Pikachu, and Pikachu will deploy a several safety balloons before floating to the ground - take a picture of Pikachu with the balloons to get the Balloon Pikachu Special bonus. Once Pikachu reaches the ground, it'll run over to the giant crystalline egg. Play the PokeFlute, and the Jynx nearby will sing and dance, causing Articuno to emerge. As you pass the Jigglypuff stage, look back and you'll see Pikachu riding on Articuno - take a picture (make sure it's of Pikachu and not of Articuno) to get the Flying Pikachu Special bonus.
 
Jigglypuff
|
Cave: Jigglypuff on Stage (500 points) and Jigglypuff Trio on Stage (1200 points)
After the Bulbaditto, you'll see three Koffing, each with a hostage Jigglypuff. Toss Pester Balls at the three Koffing to liberate the three Jigglypuff. They'll float off happily into the distance. Near the end of the course, look to your right at a purple area and you'll see the three Jigglypuff, singing and floating about, so make sure you snap all three in one picture for the Jigglypuff Trio on Stage Special. If you only manage to save one or two of the Jigglypuff, you can still get the Jigglypuff on Stage Special.
Graveler
|
Valley: Graveler's Group Dance (500 points)
Near the waterfall, just after the first set of rapids, there are three Graveler clinging to the rock wall. Play the PokeFlute and watch them dance!
Magmar
|
Volcano: Fighting Magmar (800 points)
There's one on a ledge with a Charmander, and you can throw some Pokemon Food between them to make Magmar use its Flamethrower attack for the Fighting Magmar Special bonus. You can try again just after the Moltres egg, where there are two Magmar on the right. As before, throw an apple between them and they'll start fighting, plus you'll get a Same Pokemon bonus if you fit both into your picture.
 Mew
|
Rainbow Cloud: The Rare Pokemon Mew (2500 points)
Any picture of Mew will earn you this Special bonus.
