POKEMON RUBY, SAPPHIRE AND EMERALD FEEBAS GUIDE

Finding Feebas

Feebas's location is one of the most peculiar in the entire game. To find it, you have to go to Route 119. Feebas can only be obtained through fishing, but you can't fish in just any spot. Out of the estimated 400 squares of water on Route 119, Feebas only appears in 6 of them. These 6 squares are entirely random, so asking somebody else where they got Feebas from won't help much.

In addition to this, every time you change the "Trendy Phrase" in Dewford Town, the 6 squares are randomised again. There isn't really a method to finding the six squares. If you fish in one place at least six times with the Super Rod (The chances are a lot better with the Super Rod), and you haven't encountered a Feebas, then most likely you are not on the right square. On the bright side, once you find the Feebas squares, you will discover that it is quite common. Feebas appears approximately 60% to 80% of the time in those 6 specified squares, so be sure to catch more than one.

Evolving Feebas

Just like finding Feebas, evolving it isn't very easy as well. Feebas evolves in a unique way: You must get its Beauty rating to 170, and then have it grow a level. The main problem is that there is no numerical representation of your Pokemon's Beauty rating. The only way to raise Beauty is by feeding Feebas Blue or Indigo PokeBlocks.

PokeBlocks are used to raise five different aspects of your Pokemon: Smartness, Cuteness, Coolness, Beauty and Toughness. These aspects are used in the contests, a side-quest in Ruby and Sapphire (see our Contests guide for more information). As mentioned before, only two types of PokeBlocks raise Beauty: Blue or Indigo. But before making the PokeBlocks, you should check what your Feebas' nature is. Certain natures accept certain colours of PokeBlocks, while they reject others. If your Feebas is Rash, Quiet, Modest or Mild, you're in luck as these natures love Dry PokeBlocks (which is what Blue and Indigo are). If your Feebas is Impish, Careful or Adamant, don't even bother trying to evolve him, as these natures hate Dry PokeBlocks. If your Feebas is any other nature, it should still evolve as long as you feed it high quality PokeBlocks.

To make Blue and Indigo PokeBlocks you need certain berries. The following is a list of all Berries which make either Blue or Indigo PokeBlocks:

~ Lv 10
Chesto Berry
Oran Berry

Lum Berry (Lilycove)
Bluk Berry
Wepear Berry (Lilycove)
~ Lv 25
Wiki Berry
Kelpsy Berry
Hondew Berry (Lilycove)
Cornn Berry
~ Lv 50
Pamtre Berry

As mentioned in the Contest section of the site, the higher the level of the PokeBlock and the lower the Feel, the more effective the PokeBlock will be. In order to get the smoothest (lowest feel) PokeBlocks, I recommend you blend your Berries in the Lilycove Contest Hall. The Berries in the first group won't do any good, so do not use them for evolving Feebas. The Berries in the second group are all good for evolving Feebas, though Pamtre Berry (3rd group) is definately the best Berry to use for this cause. Your PokeBlocks should be at Level 23 or above. If your PokeBlocks come out lower than that, try using a different Berry. If you feed Feebas 12 PokeBlocks (the maximum), all above Level 23, then he is sure to evolve once you raise him by one level.

The Results

All those hours spent on catching and evolving the Magikarp-wannabe pay off. Feebas evolves into Milotic. Check out Feebas' Pokedex page and Milotic's page for their stats and abilities.
