POKEMON RANGER MANAPHY'S MISSION

Manaphy is one of the new special event Pokemon of Diamond and Pearl, and this special event involves Pokemon Ranger. Manaphy is programmed into Pokemon Ranger and can be accessed through unlocking a password screen and then entering the password. After the password is entered, you'll have to complete a new mission to recover Manaphy's Egg. It can then be transferred to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl by the DS' wireless functions. Click here for Manaphy's Psydex page.

First of all, the password screen can be unlocked by going to Ranger Net and holding R, X, and Left. If you don't have Ranger Net, you have to beat the main storyline first. Anyway, once that's done, the game will tell you that you've unlocked it, and you can check it out. Now, at the password screen, enter the password "P8M2-9D6F-43H7" for the US version or "Mg35-Cpb8-4FW8" for the UK version. The game will then tell you that you can access a new Ranger Net mission, so turn off the DS and go check it out. And now, here's a quick summary of the mission:

To start, Cameron finds the Manaphy egg washed up on Summerland's beach and gives it to Prof. Hastings. The professor gets excited and heads over to Ring Town to show the egg to everyone. On the way, he's attacked by some Go-Rock Squad grunts. So instead of presenting the egg to you, you have to go retrieve it with your usual partner, Lunick or Solana.
You'll start off in Lyra Forest, and your objective is to find the Go-Rock Squad before they get away with Manaphy's egg. First off, head to your left and capture the Politoed. You can also capture a Torchic for its Assist later. Continue through the path until you reach some Graveler. Use Politoed's Soak on one to reveal a grunt, and you're in for a battle with the three Graveler.
Carry on to find a the grunts with the egg, and you'll be attacked by four Rattata. Capture them and head to Krokka Tunnel. On the way is another grunt with four Zubat. Again, capture and continue. Also on your path is a Swellow; capture it for a little later. The next grunt has two Rattata and a Meowth. Now, you'll notice a Parasect that the grunts mistook for a mushroom. Use Swellow to reveal Parasect and force it to move to point to another path. Follow the grunts again, and yet another grunt has a Scyther. Go to the entrance to the tunnel to see the grunts with the egg go the wrong way.
You get to face a few more grunts on your way through the path. The next grunt has a Politoed and three Zubat, and the one after has three Rattata. Now, if you didn't use Swellow on the Parasect yet, you'll start going in circles until you do. If you didn't at first, there's a last grunt with a Pupitar. Anyway, when you finally corner them, you'll have to face a Venusaur and two Scyther. To capture them, use the Torchic's Assist if you have one or just try focus on one Scyther at a time with your partner's Discharge. Then you can go for Venusaur, which shouldn't be very hard once it's alone.
They'll run away, and you'll see Gordor. Luckily, he's caught the grunt with the egg, and give it back to you. Return to base to receive your thanks from everyone else. After some talking, the professor will hold the egg until you can transfer it to a Diamond or Pearl game.

So now after you're done the mission, you can recheck Ranger Net and find a new option called "Check the Egg." This will also let you send it to a Diamond or Pearl game when you get the opportunity. It also gives instructions on how to do the transfer, so just follow those. You can also try to do the mission once more, but unfortunately, you can't. All that will be shown is you checking up on the egg with the professor.
