POKEMON RANGER CAPTURE CHALLENGES
There are three special mini-games in Fiore and are called Capture Challenges. As the name implies, they all center around capturing Pokemon in a timed challenge. These are called the Marine Challenge, Grassland Challenge and Capture Arena. They are located respectively in Summerland, Ringtown and Fall City. They are also run by three brothers.
Some Pokemon are only found in these areas, so it is essential to do these if you feel like completing your browser. Also, some of the Pokemon in the challenges are only available by beating another challenge's high score. Furthermore, in the Marine and Grassland Challenges, some Pokemon will only appear if there are certain Pokemon captured first. These usually run up two or three levels, so you'll have to be quick if you want the chance to fill up your browser.
All of these challenges are run on time and points. For the Marine and Grassland, the concept is running around and capturing as many Pokemon as you can in three minutes, but for the Arena, the concept is much different. Skip ahead to the Arena section if you want to read about it in detail. Either way, these challenges also have high scores, and like many preset high scores, they are not too difficult to beat. Also, the challenge will only last as long as your Styler's energy does, so don't think that time is your only enemy.
To pause the challenge, simply press Start or wait for a point that requires you to touch to continue (the clock will be stopped then). In the Marine and Grassland Challenges, another great way to put off your challenge is to listen to the advice of the person that appears in each respective one. They like to give you help by hinting what Pokemon are available in the Challenge and by what means you can get them, by a special chain, for example. There are also some people outside of those challenges that can give these hints, too.
Here is a detailed overview of each challenge and the Pokemon found in them:

The Marine Challenge is run by MC Fisher and can be accessed immediately on arrival in Summerland. He's located on the pier beside the Lapras, and just talk to MC Fisher to get started. The starting high score is 3500 and shouldn't be too hard to take over after you get used to the concept.
In this challenge, you are riding a Lapras around the Safra Sea to try and capture as many Pokemon as you can in three minutes. As most Water-type Pokemon live underwater, you will only be able to see they're shadows as you approach them. Fortunately, you can sometimes tell which Pokemon it is by the shadow itself. This is done by noting the size of it (small, medium or large), and how it reacts to your presence. For example, you can tell apart a Remoraid or Octillery when it sees you because it ducks down further underwater, where you can't get at it. The difference between those two is that Remoraid's shadow is small and Octillery's is medium. There are some Pokemon that you can see though, so don't worry too much. Staryu is one, for example.

Also, there are some Pokemon that are rarer than other ones. Although it may appear that Octillery or Seadra appears as a result of capturing Remoraid or Horsea, they are just less likely to appear in the area than the Remoraid or Horsea. This just means that you shouldn't count on a Pokemon always appearing, and it might take a few tries to get one there.
Here is a table of all the Pokemon that you can find during this challenge:
| Magikarp | 100 | Small | Various | |
| Gyarados | 2500 | Visible | Top-left corner | Capture five Magikarp |
| Horsea | 400 | Small | Various | |

By talking to MC Fielder in the upper-right corner of Ringtown after you finish your fifth mission, you can access the Grassland Challenge. This challenge takes place in the Kisara Plains, and its starting high score is 5000.
This time around, you're riding a Doduo across an open field, and fortunately, you can see most Pokemon before you come upon them. The exceptions are if the Pokemon is in tall grass or if the Pokemon is a Kecleon. There are only a few Pokemon that appear in the grass though, so it isn't very significant.

Also like the Marine Challenge, there is some randomness involved in the Pokemon's locations inside the challenge itself. However, it's a lot more random and spread out, so it would be hard to try and pinpoint every single place they could appear. Also, some Pokemon, like Bulbasaur and Donphan, may not even appear at all during a challenge because they are so rare.
And here is another table of the challenge's Pokemon:

The Capture Arena that's run by MC Arena in Fall City is available only after the game is completed. It is very much unlike the other two challenges and has a totally different system, including scoring. The high score here is 50000 points and shouldn't be too hard to beat.
There is no running around or any of this overworld stuff here; the arena is all about capturing, capturing, capturing. Pokemon just drop into the field of view, and you capture them. Multiple Pokemon can appear as well, and this makes capturing difficult.
There are three major things to focus on in the Arena, your score, time and health. Scoring is an easy process: just capture a Pokemon. There are also multiplying bonuses when you capture multiple Pokemon at once, so if you get two Pokemon simultaneously, the resulting score is doubled. With three Pokemon, it's tripled, and so on. Time starts out at two minutes, but you receive a slight bonus every time you capture a Pokemon. This bonus can be brought up to ten by drawing extra loops around the Pokemon. For health, you can capture a Pichu, Pikachu or Raichu to recharge your energy. These appear occasionally every level. The way it works is the same way as receiving a time bonus; just draw extra loops. Both time and health are rather significant for getting to higher levels.

And on the subject of higher levels, there are ten levels. Obviously, the higher the level, the harder it gets. Also, more Pokemon can appear at once, which, although it makes it harder to capture them and avoid their attacks, can allow for big bonuses. To advance a level, just capture the level's boss after capturing a certain number of Pokemon before it, and this number also rises with the level.
And finally, here's an exhaustive list of Pokemon found in orders of the challenge's levels:
