POKEMON PUZZLE CHALLENGE PLAYER MODES

There's lots of modes in Puzzle Challenge to play around with. If you're a beginner, I highly recommend the Training option to get used to how the game works.

1 Player

There are several different modes to keep you entertained:
- Marathon Mode: You just keep playing and playing and playing until you quit, or your screen fills up with blocks.
- Challenge Mode: Compete against Gym Leaders and the Elites by using chains and combos to cause damage. Earn new Pokemon for battling here.
- Time Zone: You're given a set time limit to get the best score you can possibly get.
- Line Clear: Clear the rows of blocks as fast as you can in six rounds and two bonus battle rounds against Morty and Clair.
- Puzzle: Put your skills to the test by solving puzzles that Prof Oak has set. You're given a set number of moves to clear all the blocks on screen. Beat all the rounds on normal difficulty to advance to star difficulty.
- Garbage: Have some practice with Garbage - you can set your speed as well as the size of the garbage. Try 99 and really get those chains sky-rocketting. You'll get a neat summary of all your chains and combos when you get a Game Over.

2 Player

Here you can play with a friend in:
- Battle Mode: Go head to head using as many chains and combos as you can to cause garbage to fall on your opponent's screen while you prevent your screen from filling up with blocks. The blocks where the damage bar usually is indicate the number of visible rows on your opponent's screen.
- Time Zone: You're given a set time limit to get the best score you can possibly get against your friend.
- Line Clear: See who can clear the rows of blocks the fastest. The blocks where the damage bar usually is indicate the number of visible rows on your opponent's screen.

Training

Here you can practice on super-slow mode to get used to the game, or you can watch and learn from Prof Oak as he teaches you how to create combos and chains. Could be very useful for obtaining new Pokemon in Challenge Mode. You'll also the get option to execute the moves yourself if you press [Start].

Controls

Views the controls. Hooray. [A] switches two blocks; [B] reverses your decision in Puzzle Mode, or raises the block platform in other modes; [Select] gives you a Hint in Puzzle Mode; [Direction Pad] moves the cursor in the desired direction. [Start] pauses the game.

Records

The place that holds all your records for bragging rights against your friends. If you put your cursor over any of the options in the main menu (Your Data, Vs Data, Other) and then press Select + A, you'll be taken to a new menu where you can view records for chains and combos executed. Here's my best chain :) *bragbrag*

Options

Your standard options where you can change settings for sounds and such. A nice feature here is the gallery, where you can view the images you've earned by completing certain modes in the game. There are some very nice pictures of the Johto Gym Leaders here. You can also view the data for all the Pokemon that appear in the game, including those used by Gym Leaders and Elites.
