POKEMON PLATINUM - ALTERNATE FORMES

One of the first changes announced for Pokemon Platinum is the inclusion of new Formes for two Pokemon; Shaymin and Giratina.

Little is currently known about Giratina's Origin Forme, other than that the Pokemon is central to the plot of the game, and that the frome change occurs when moving between the Ruined World and our own.

More is known about Shaymin's Sky Forme. A Shaymin was given out as a promotional Pokemon in Japan. Once this Shaymin is imported into Platinum, a special flower can be obtained in Floaroma Town. This item will change Shaymin into its Sky Forme. It is unknown at this time if the change is permanent or can be reversed by sending the Pokemon back to Diamond or Pearl, or by means of a different item.

In addition to these two, there is also another promotional image of five silhouettes of previously unseen Pokemon. These five are believed to be alternate formes, but their identities have yet to be confirmed. More info has been promised following the Japanese release of the game.
