Dear RS fans,
Here are your Ruby and Sapphire remakes, named Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, set for a November 2014 release on the 2DS and 3DS. Featuring new forms and/or new Mega Evolutions for Kyogre and Groudon as seen on the cover art?
Definitely excited but once again reminded by the disappointing activity level here with only 2 people responding to this aside from me. Oh well, I'm sure the games will be great!
Was going to respond earlier but there's really no information out so you cant really tell what the game will be like. Sapphire was the first pokemon game, and any handheld game for that matter, where I put over 2000 play hours on it.
I just hope they dont do like HGSS/FRLG and add the newer pokemon into the game. Some might want it like that but there should be an option to turn it off. Would just like to see a remake without pokemon like garbodor and klinklang that make me facepalm at Nintendo's lack of creativity.
First off, I'm so glad to get these games are finally confirmed. We've waited for so long and it totally makes sense for gamefreak to release it now. It's the perfect timing, because if they would've come out during gen V, it would've been a little too less of a difference from the original games. So now was the perfect timing. And Gamefreak never makes me disappointed about the names. ( Not that it matters too much, but still.) Awesome names, I thought it would be something like that, 'cause HG/SS names were pretty unpredictable too.Really looking forward to November.
Anyway, @Misca, then don't catch those garbodor or klingklang. Just move on in the story. That's like the whole thing of Pkmn games, you choose which ones you want to train. I'm almost certain of that they will include newer pokemon in some way, but we will see how. Maybe it would make sense to get the possibility to get them after the Elite 4?
One thing would be interesting to include. Like in G/S originally, to get to travel to another region. Like Kalos or Sinnoh. Or just some islands like in FR/LG. And R/S were also in my eyes two of the easiest games to clear up to the Elite 4. So it would get you to play more if they would include another journey. And they haven't done such a thing since G/S/C and oc in their respective remakes. Would be awesome anyway.
@Misca FRLG and HGSS are great games so I don't understand your complaints about them. Also, the new Pokemon added to the games are only obtainable after you get the national dex so you can still complete the major storyline choosing from the same 151 (FRLG) or 251 (HGSS, plus 5 but still) Pokemon as RBY(RG) and GSC. So I imagine ORAS will have the same or a very similar regional Pokedex of 202 but once you beat the Elite 4 then you will be able to obtained an assorted amount from the other remaining 500+ Pokemon before having to trade with X and Y or older generations to catch them all. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Besides calling Garbodor and Klinklang unoriginal just because they're inanimate objects is pretty dumb because we've had inanimate objects such as Voltorb, Magnemite, Grimer, etc. as Pokemon plus we've definitely had more Monkey, Frog, and Fox Pokemon than we've had gear Pokemon.
