Keep voting for your favorites as Round 1 draws to a close and we start getting ready for Round 2!
@mudkip eez awsome Hey I'm not shocked Lapras is like the most famous Ice pokemon but yeah Abosasnow is cool he was in my Platinum team but I guess its 7 weaknesses was a huge turn off.
Right, I've voted. Gave quite a few 5*'s this time, to: Aipom, plain ol' ordinary Arceus, Charmander, Lickilicky, Lugia, Manectric, Mareep, Pichu, Pidgey, Quagsire, Rattata, Roggenrola, Sawk, Sentret, Timburr, and Vigoroth :) Gave 2*'s to the other Arceus's, to Hydreigon (simply 'cosI hate it), and to Zoroark! I was reserving my 1*'s for the Unown's, but did mine eyes deceive me?! There were no Unown this round!! O.o Kind of surprised that Mew topped the poll last time, didn't think it was that popular imo :P
o·pin·ion [uh-pin-yuhn] - noun 1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. 2. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal.
@Frost don't take it se-ri-ous-ly (dOnt-tAk-it-see-ree-us-lee) 1.I was just saying those pokemon are cool, which they are. 2.it's nothing personal. I was just expressing MY opinion 3.I'm aware that people have different likes and dislike 4.Regardless, Zoroark and Hydreigon still rule and if you ask 100 people, at least 60 will agree. Majority rules. 5.So not meant to start a conflict.
@vaporterra 1. They're only cool in your opinion. 2. You were expressing YOUR opinion in a way that did not seem considerate of somebody else's OPINION at all, what with calling him a "jerk" and acting like it was mandatory for Hydreigon and Zoroark to earn 4/5 stars. 3. It sure didn't seem like that based on your original post. 4. Why do I give a hell about what a "majority" thinks? The majority of people in the world don't care about Pokemon, does that mean I shouldn't too? 5. There wasn't really a conflict until you made this numbered list of a reply.
Let's all calm down people. The real issue here is, DON'T LET LUGIA WIN AGAIN! Give someone else a chance. Yes Lugia, you are an awesome pokemon, but please step down this year.
There wouldn't continue to be a "conflict" if you hadn't responded... Not to mention with a list of your own which you claimed was what started it. And no, "jerk" shouldn't have been said, but was it necessary to say "hell"? I'm not going to say I agree that Hydreigon and Zoroark are super great - I'd be lying. However, I doubt this "conflict" would have escalated to this had vaporterra's comment just been dismissed. I'm sure both of you could justify what you said, but from a third party viewpoint, neither should have been said...
On *kind of* another note, does putting "So not meant to start a conflict" or "^_^" at the end of a post count as passive-aggressive?
Wow :P it continues! Cos I started this, I should probably say that both you guys have valid arguments, but Frost has authority, so you should probably listen to him xD Don't hate on me though! :P I don't really mind that you're all fighting over my opinion, but (and it's none of my business really, but still), do you really want this played out on the first post on the main page? Where anyone can see?! It's not my place to say, but calm down guys ^_^
And now, back to the Pokemon discussions, as we await the next update and news!!!
Really, really sorry for the second post, but I also agree with frenchhorn95, thanks for trying to resolve this. And just for the record, I'd probably "like" this too xD And, no I don't think it'd be passive aggressive, but, again, that's just my *opinion*.
Frost - remember the big fight months ago, which prompted you to temporarily give up on the Black/White walkthrough? That was all started by your reply to a silly post, and another person pointing out (quite rightly) that the reply came across as rather rude.
Perhaps it's better to say nothing at all. If somebody posts something stupid, don't reply - just ignore it.
People really need to grow a thicker skin if posting the definition of opinion with no additional commentary or insults is considered to be the new gold standard for "rude."
Also, ffLoink, the last thing I want is people deferring to me just because I have "authority." I have never punished people for disagreeing with me - I want everyone to share their opinion, but also in a way that doesn't alienate others, which is why the implication that Zoroark/Hydreigon should just get 4/5 stars, and that the person who gave them 2 stars was a "jerk," lit my fuse. It's cool if you like them, but don't act like your opinion is the word of god is all.
I'm going to have to side with Frost on this one. Don't think you can infer any malicious intent from a definition. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But you have to remember that this is just a popularity contest. You might hate the popular kid in school, but he still is going to win.
Posting the definition of opinion here was an obvious suggestion that another person didn't know what the word meant. In other words, you were treating somebody as an idiot. That's why it was rude.
Clearly, Frost, you do not suffer fools easily. But if you want to spend time chatting online, you're going to have to learn how to deal with fools, because there's no shortage of them on the web.
I agree that the comment you were responding to was absurd. (And I gave Hydreigon a 5.) But why didn't you simply say "Just because somebody disagrees with you, doesn't mean they're wrong"?
My defence against stupid is to laugh at the unbelievable idiocy of the person on the other side of a distant computer screen, and tell myself that their absurd remark is not even worthy of being acknowledged with a reply.
This approach means I get to have the last word, and it doesn't create any unnecessary drama. :)
I'll just say what a mod on PO said: (23:02:26) +Professor Oak: But again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. (23:02:30) +Professor Oak: Just not shitty ones.
God doesn't have to be capitalized. If I'm talking about a pantheon of gods, or a water/w/e god, then I don't have to capitalize it. And for pete's sake (u c wat i did thar?), it's not like it couldn't have been a typo. This is the internet after all.
I would keep blabbering on and on about this, but then I'd be doing the same thing as everyone else: not letting it just fucking go already.
Let's just settle down everyone! This is geting out of hand (I.E. language, proving people wrong etc. etc....) It's one of our rights as Americans to free speech and press, so let's get over someone else's opinion! Their opinion matters just as much as your's does! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If you don't approve of someone else's opinion, you don't have to make a scene of it. Thank you for reading.
In the words of Mewtwo in the first movie - "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." - In other words "Let's all be friends!"
Ok look, I don't mean to get pissy or yell at you guys, since you all seem to have quite a bit going on and everything, but are you guys even going to update before the next round begins?
Because all the children can't handle it, I think you should stop this year's Psypoke Idol. They are just going to complain about all the Arceus in the finals, and how their favorite didn't win. And in the end we all know that Charizard, Lugia or one of the new legendaries from BW is going to win because the game is out right now. So in order to stop this nonsense and teach the children a lesson, take away the problem and stop the Psypoke Idol.
^Uh, what's wrong with complaining about Arceus being in the next round (not the finals)? I've seen plenty of people that are older than I am doing that. And then you would have to deal with all the whining about how it did get stopped.
"one of the new legendaries from BW is going to win"
That would be a SURPRISING outcome if anything considering there's always going to be a loud minority of the main fanbase who thinks everything after 151 (251 since HGSS) sucks. There's not a single Unova Pokemon in the entire top twenty and the highest one isn't a Legendary, also.
That, and the Unova legendaries aren't really that original. They're great for battling, as all legendaries are - but you can tell the Pokemon Company is running out of creative avenues.
Some of the new Pokemon designs are very clever (I've got twelve favourites that I'm raising for this reason)... but others leave a lot to be desired.
The three monkeys and their evolutions are so similar, you have to wonder why they bothered making six Pokemon like that, rather than two. And WHY did Alomomola have to look so much like Luvdisc, when it was supposed to be a completely new and unrelated Pokemon?
@darkariados i couldnt agree more with u on Alomomola. if they weren't gonna make a luvdisc evolution, why did they make a pokemon that could've been a luvdisc evolution but isnt? but still at least Alomomola's better than Luvdisc.
