Owners of the 3DS are reminded to update their system. Nintendo has provided a summary and a guide to assist users in the process. Simply connect to a WiFi network, open the System Settings, and from the Other Settings menu, select System Update.
The update adds more online functionality, including an internet browser and the eShop store. As part of a promotion, the Pokedex 3D is available for free through the eShop. This app features a Unova-Region Pokedex, including full 3D models for all Pokemon, excluding the 3 still-unreleased legendaries.
A new game for the 3DS has also been announced. Super Pokemon Scramble is a sequel to Pokemon Rumble (the WiiWare game). Like Rumble, it features wind-up toys fighting in a free-for-all battle setting. The new game will be released in Japan at the end of next month.
E3 has come and gone, and all the vendors put on quite a show. Nintendo's upcoming hardware, the Wii U, features a tablet-style controller and a beefed up set of Wii hardware, backwards-compatibility included.
Some analysts were hoping for a bigger show from Nintendo, and others have expressed concerns over the potential costs of the next-generation console. Only time will tell, but from what we know right now, the console seems like it could support quite a few Pokemon titles.
Lastly, don't forget to keep voting in Psypoke Idol. It's still a pretty close race for the last few spots this week.
Do you own or want a 3DS? What about the free Pokedex app? And what are your thoughts on E3 2011 and the Wii U?
I don't own a 3DS. It would be nice to have one, but I just think they're far too expensive, and as of yet there are no 3DS exclusive games I want to play. Even once some do come out, I'll likely wait for a price drop for the 3DS before getting one.
This Wii U thing is gonna cost like $900, and it has a stoopid name. And yes, the 3DS looks cool, but it's too expensive for me right now. All the 3DS games now look stupid. Call me picky.
Hey guys I know this may be off-topic a bit but I was wondering if someone could tell me where it is possible to buy an action replay in Europe? Every time I go to a game shop they give me the cold face and say "we dont sell it -.-'' and I really need one for wifi battles. Thanks! Oh and I already have a 3DS :D
I own a 3DS and the 3D doesn't make me sick... I have the free Pokedex app and its cool; they totally animated each Unova pokemon in 3D. you can make it do an attack stance too which makes me wonder if "Pokemon Battle Revolution 2" is coming out?? the wii u is definately a cool idea just kinda wondering how much the controller will be... probably at the least $60 :(
Yeah, I have a 3DS and love it, but my niece has glasses and can't look at it..which is too bad because those games with the cards that use the cameras are flippin tight. Can't wait for OoT =D
A 3d pokedex? Does this mean they'll finally make a 3d stadium game for the 3ds? Whatever they decide to do, I hope it's better than that lazy cash-in, Battle Revolution.
Maybe we might have a 3d Pokemon Ranger or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game with Oshawott, Snivy, Tepig, and Zorua as starters. :D I really want a 3ds too.D:
