As you may know, Frost is our resident TCG guy. Over several years of collecting cards, he's gotten a lot of duplicates that are just taking up space. So, to make room for more new cards, he's auctioning off 5800 extras. If you're a TCG collector, you might want to check it out and see if he has some cards you're looking for. The whole collection is one big lot, and you can find a list of all the cards here.
Have you ever played the Pokemon TCG? How much did you play or collect? Let us know!
5800?! O_o Wow that's a lot of cards. I never really got into playing the TCG, but I collected a little bit when I was a kid. Not much, like I said - probably less than 400 cards total.
I collect a little. I have about three tins full. I have some organized in evolution. Also, I got some Unova sneak peak tins (Snivy and Tepig! WOOT!)on my way back from the mall tour (Drove 6 hours!) .
I stil collect the TCG. There was a few years where I didnt get any, mainly because I couldnt find any. Once I started back up, the first ohh 5 packs I got had 2 rares in em. Now im buying the 5 packs from my local dollar store.
Um yeah, the packs werent fake, considering I bought the packs from zellers and walmart. And one of em had a dialga(G) LVL X
Someone must have goofed on those packs.
I do check the cards I get from the dollar store, since the 5 packs are 3rd party, and I havent seen any fakes yet. I also do check the pokemon TCG website card picks, every once in a while. I did however get a German(I think) starmie from one of those dollar packs.
But Jiggz is the one doing the videos. I'm the one doing the walkthrough, and for that file I only have Emboar, Simisage and Simipour. Originally I only wanted Emboar and Simipour (the bare minimum I needed for HMs), but I started training the Pansage that I got for free in case of triple battles.
Anyway, Tepig was fine, but all of my Pokemon are overleveled anyway since I have only three. When I start the game for real, I'll pick Tepig again and use a full team.
@wickedwizerd22 I'll agree with Frost and say "not Snivy." After playing through the end of the first gym with all three, I can definitely say Snivy is the worst to start with.
My reasons are pretty simple. Look at their stats; Snivy has the lowest Attack out of all of the starters, and his Special Attack is just as bad. He's built for speed and taking damage, not dealing it. But, in the early game, that's completely worthless.
Also, look at their moves. Both Tepig and Oshawott will get more out of Tackle, and Oshawott's higher SA makes Water Gun even better.
Sure, Tepig's SA means Ember's nothing special, but both Water Gun and Ember are stronger than Vine Whip.
Finally, Snivy is limited to Physical attacks until Level 16. In the early game, every opponent has either a Defense- or an Attack-lowering move to use against you. After a couple Growls, Snivy is worthless in battle, while the other two can fall back on their (more powerful) STAB Special attacks.
@Jigglypuff, NOT NICE!!!! SNIVY IS THE BEST STARTER *EVER* I'M A GRASS TYPE TRAINER AND I COULD CRUSH YOUR POKEMON ANY DAY ,ANY TIME!!! I CHALLENGE YOU!
Really, I'm pretty sure that Jiggz didn't even say anything negative against Snivy, other than the fact that its stats are poor(er). But if you guys do battle (doubtful), please post a video so I can laugh at Poke-piper getting his ass beat.
Snivy is easily the worst of this Generation's Starters. The only buzz about Serperior in battle is from its DREAM WORLD ABILITY, which revolves around getting a +2 SA boost from Leaf Storm and then sweeping with an awesome moveset of... Grass and Normal moves + Hidden Power. Yay?
AUGH!!! OFFENSIVE!!!! Snivy CAN WRECK YOU!! And @rex09....Oh boy did you cross the line....ooooo hoo hoo... did you cross that line... And @Jigglypuff, If we do battle... you will PAY. Same for you too @rex09...
Listen I started out with snivy and used it to beat the elite four and snivy isn't a great starter, but it isn't worse than Torterra. @Poke-piper NO ONE cares how much you love or want to make love with snivy. Stop over hyping it. It's not even strong with brute force or anything like that.
wow, that's a lot of cards. i still collect a bit, but i stopped playing years ago and i'm sure the tournament scene has left me behind. still, this whole post has gotten me thinking about the game again, and i have an almost clean record (only one loss at an official event, less than ten losses total), so maybe i should start up again.
also, at the above: i gotta agree than snivy is a lackluster early game starter. i chose snivy, and i like the pokemon fine, but that's because i really love the design. but once i get onto dreamworld, i'm probably gonna retire my starter for one with the better dream world ability.
Don't fight, he only pointed out that Snivy isn't the best at battling. There's nothing wrong with liking a less-than-perfect Pokemon. I love Combee but I can still admit that in battle it goes down faster than a cake in front of Oprah :D
Ok...@Rex09, A Lvl 100 Snivy, decent fire attacks? I don't think so. And @Biosci, FINALLY A SNIVY USER! But I do NOT WANNA DO THAT TO SNIVY!!!!! And @Manafi, you are sensable. ESPECIALLY about Oprah.
Snivy has nothing on the other two starters, in stats OR moves. Samurott and Emboar can take out both starters with some STAB attack and X-Scissor (Samurott) or Wild Charge (Emboar). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Snivy/Serperior ever having an attack to combat Emboar. Maybe Aerial Ace??? And anyways, just because your Snivy is level 100, it doesn't mean it's any good. You kind of killed it's stats by doing that. Just saying...
@WickedWizerd22, you may say what you wanna say (About me or Snivy), But you words have COMPLETLY NO VALUE! So it's stats aren't as good as Tepig's and Oshawott's, but you are WRONG...@Rex09, I breed Snivy and leveled up 3 Snivy to have all 3 evolutions.
