First off, the Official Site for Black and White has updated with the Pokemon revealed by IGN and ONM UK previously, as well as information on other game aspects, such as Team Plasma and the story, the Dream World, Pokemon Musicals, and more!
Up next, you'll notice that the Events list has been updated with Europe's Celebi distribution; the exact store and dates vary from one country to another, so check the official Nintendo site for your country to get the specifics.
Finally, IGN has published a Q&A on the 3DS which states that Pokemon Black and White, while not fully 3D, will feature some sort of enhancement when played on the upcoming handheld.
Do you plan to get a 3DS when they come out? Will you buy one for the inevitable next Pokemon game that will come out on the new handheld?
I will eventually get the 3DS, just probably not when it first comes out. Money issues and all that. Not to mention the fact that it would probably be only a matter of time till the next version comes out (3DS Lite or something like that).
I'll upgrade to a 3DS when they make a cartridge slot for the older games. I'm still trying to understand why they decided to eliminate the feature in the first place, especially because Pal Park was the best thing in my opinion that they have included with the game.
I must say, the guide was very helpful. If I hear of a new version of the 3Ds before christmas, though, I will wait for the newer one. At the moment I am happy with my DSi XL, thanks.
Libra: We're now two generations away from the GBA. Surely you aren't suggesting consoles should be backwards-compatible that far back when they were using much bigger carts back then?
I'm assuming you have a DS that will accept GBA carts if you're whining about this. Play that if you want GBA games. In any case, you'll need it if you want to transfer anything over to B/W.
yep, after 15 years, Ash is 'still' 10 for no adequately explored reason... A lot of people have complained about the US opening but I think it's better. I know it's super short but hopefully CN cut it just for the premiere : I think having all the pokemon colored and not as vague black blobs fading into the background is more aesthetically pleasing.
Ash is still ten after fifteen years for the same reasons that Bart Simpson is still ten after twenty-three years. Animation doesn't have follow a real-world time scale.
At least Pokemon hasn't done anything to destroy the continuity of the show with its floating timeline, unlike the Simpsons.
I'll likely get a 3DS eventually, but I'm more curious about that Celebi event... Since I can't find -any- information regarding it being around in the Netherlands T_T Granted, I suck when it comes to finding stuff, so's anyone willing to help me out with that?
@Frost I know cartoons don't follow real-world time. It's just funny because you naturally assume a character has aged at least a little but then the narrator goes and explicitly says Ash is 10 :) @Leotrak they'd probably announce it at http://www.nintendo.nl/
No, Black and White are DS games. They have a couple of extra features (social connectivity stuff) with the DSi (and possibly the 3DS), but everything else can be done with the regular DS.
@Manafi Doesn't look like they're announcing any of the sort on the main Nintendo site... The 3 Legendary Dogs event wasn't announced there, either -_-"
and i watched the b/w episodes! i am sooo happy that they brought back who's that pokemon. i was furious that they took it away in d/p, but now its back! and i still have my regular DS, and i'm saving up to get an Itouch, so i am not getting a 3DS, i'm fine with what i have got now!
I've had my DS Lite since they first started selling them, not getting a new DS (whatever model it is) until after my current one breaks.
The Anime has made so many references to that fact that Ash has been journeying for more than a year. In fact Team Rocket said they've been chasing pikachu longer than dawn's been alive in DP.
Don't get me wrong, I like how BW has opened. They clearly show that Ash isn't fully matured yet and how Iris constantly refers to him as a kid (sounds like Misty...). The animators did an outstanding job bringing the series as close to square one as possible, and this will be the first time since Jhoto Journeys I'll be actually following the series.
Frost, I want to here what you think of the fifth gen pokes, too. I'll be greatly looking forward to when that thread starts.
A lot of the references to time in the anime are dubbed added. Like the Earthbadge episode and how Ash says it's been "a whole year" since the group were last in Viridian City.
And I think TR's line about Dawn was really just metahumor for the fans. Even if time DOES pass in the anime (and now with BW we know it doesn't since Ash is still ten), ten years clearly hadn't passed from Kanto to Sinnoh.
Happy Valentines Day everyone! I might buy the Nintendo 3DS. If I Get one, I might get Pokemon Black and White, since I did pre order Pokemon White. I would also like to go to the Tour in New Jersey.
There are a few malls in NJ that they are visiting. I saw their mall tour truck driving by in Vincentown on Sunday heading towards either the Moorestown Mall or the Cherry Hill Mall.
@TheIceMan The Mall Tour is in Paramus. I don't know how much the 3DS will be when it comes out. That's why I did not pre order it. I don't know why you had to give up your DSi.
I'll need to save up some money - but I'm almost there...! :D Sure, I'll get it one day... Maybe when the rush is over and the price starts dropping a bit... 2.000 DKK (350 USD) is a lot of money...
Just looking forward to see which names they have thought up for the games XD
