In addition to these, Incinerate, the berry-destroying Fire-type attack, keeps its Japanese translation. We also know that the 7th Gym is in Icirrus City, and that north of the city lies Dragonspiral Tower.
Then, the IGN network has begun running an ad featuring Triple Battles, which reveals several more Pokemon, seen in this article. The Official Nintendo Magazine UK has also posted more screenshots revealing even more names. From these, we get:
Herdier the Loyal Dog Pokemon and evolution of Lillipup, the Puppy Pokemon. It can use Retaliate. Purrloin the Devious Pokemon and Liepard the Cruel Pokemon, the early-game Dark-type cats. Curiously, there is a screenshot showing a wild Liepard using Round, which it can only learn via TM. Pansear the High Temp Pokemon, finally confirmed as the final elemental monkey, with Panpour confirmed as the Spray Pokemon, with the signature move Scald. Audino the Hearing Pokemon, the first "special" encounter Pokemon you'll find in the wild. In conjunction with its abilities, the Heal Pulse attack can make it a powerful healer. Yamask the Spirit Pokemon, which evolves into Cofagrigus. Its Hex can deal extra damage to opponents already suffering status effects. Cinccino, the evolved form of Minccino, seen only in the ad so far. Sawsbuck the Season Pokemon, the evolution of Deerling, which still changes appearance based on seasons. It learns Horn Leech. Emolga the Sky Squirrel Pokemon, which uses the speed-based Electro Ball attack. Galvantula the EleSpider Pokemon, a tarantula-inspired Pokemon. Fraxure and Haxorus the Axe Jaw Pokemon, who are evolved forms of Axew.
These Pokemon may have the new Regenerator or Unnerve Abilities.
There's only 4 weeks left until these games are released around the world. From what you've seen so far, what are you most looking forward to?
Galvantula for Denchura?? It seems kinda odd, but cool. Like all these names, I guess it'll take getting used to. Although, I really like Haxorus and Fraxure - those are epic!!
I love them all. I don't care what anyone says about the names! Maybe they aren't clever enough for you, but I feel most of the names are very fitting for the Pokemon. I can not wait for these games. And I think I'm most excited to see how the seasons will play in, and also for the Global Link and Dream World.
@rex09 We've known these names for a month when all of them were leaked. I agree, Axew evos are epic xD And S(ummer)a(utumn)w(inter)s(pring)buck.
Wait Galvantula is "officially new" just now too? I thought it was one of the first few revealed, since I remember calling it that for quite some time by now.
@dragontamer1021: Yes, I did get that. I was just thinking there were other possibilities (not that I'm complaining). @Mitja: I know there was a "list" of leaked names, but I didn't look at it. I don't place much credit in the hands of the person who stole (yes, that's what he/she did) the list of names, nor do I want to really spoil them all too far ahead of time.
As I said earlier, I still like the names! I just said that Galvantula feels a little odd.
I've got a feeling I will be nicknaming a lot of Pokemon by their Japanese name, but I don't have any real complaints about the English names either. And in response to what I'm looking forward to most, I really think I'd have to go with Audino - that's what the English name for Tabunne is, right? - just because it'll be a pretty easy way to gain exp. :) I guess I'm anxious for the whole "special" Pokemon thing in general, with the splashing water and dusty cave and rustling grass.
All fine except Horn Leech...with so many possibilities they had to give it such a terrible name, why not Wood Horn, Drain Horn, Arbor Horn, Horn Drain, Horn Absorb -_-
I like those names. I like all the leaked english names from the list. I'm really getting used to them. Especially that Enbuoo is now Emboar, (almost the same). The only english names that I really HATE is the names for nageki and dageki, Trhoh and sawk. Terrible names. And, yeah, I know the list isn't fully confirmed, but I have a feeling it's true. Remeber when the starters evos was revealed? It was confirmed as a rumor and I think not many believed it was true. It turned out that it was true. So maybe the rumored list also is true......
FYI: the legendary dogs are being offered on the Nintendo WiFi not just in Europe, but in North America as well. I picked up a shiny Raikou off of the Nintendo WiFi yesterday.
@Camerupt--95 Don't relate whether past rumors turned out to be true or not, with new rumors.
Instead try to look at the information presented and evaluate it's possibilities individually.
Because from your logic, if the starters were fake, you would now doubt the leaked list, no matter if the names were real or not. That doesn't make sense. Unless we got the list from the same person who gave us the starters obviously.
@Diamonduser They are not dogs. They are cats with small dog-like features. But they are not dogs.
@frenchhorn95: I'm saying that it's highly unlikely that your going to nickname the Pokemon with their Japanese names. People go OH! THOSE ENGLISH NAMES SUCK! But as they go on with their lives, they get used to the names. Do you still no anyone who calls Lucario, Rukario?
@Impersonation - I didn't say the English names were bad, nor did I say I would be giving EVERY pokemon their Japanese name. I just stated that I was more accustomed to the Japanese names, therefore I would likely be using them. I'm sure I'll get used to the English names in time, and I'll probably only use Japanese names for my first play through. Oh, and I do *know someone who calls Lucario by the Japanese name.
@Impersonation - Hey, all my friends are Vietnamese. ;) They actually get pretty mad if you call them anything else... But yeah, I understand what you mean about people complaining about names. As unbiasd (is that a word?) as I try to be, I am prone to prefering names like Oshawott and Munna over names like Tepig just because they sound more foreign, if you understand what I mean. :) 26 - almost 25 - more days! :D
@Impersonation Just call them beasts, it saves you the headache ^_^
@frenchhorn95 in the case of Oshawott and Tepig it's understandable to use the Japanese names :) but foreign names aren't necessarily better sounding (there's no way PUSA was going to let Shikijika pass)
@TheIceMan I don't think there will be a rerun in the US for a while :
Okay, it's official, the Celbi will be available during the B/W tour, or at Gamestops from Feb. 21 to Mar. 6. You can get one for each Gen. IV game you own. Official site info here: http://pokemongoldsilver.com/us/#/news/celebi/
I'm looking forward to the entire game. Game Informer gave Pokemon Black and White a 8.75 rating and a silver star, which is pretty good since Game Informer, like all magazines that critique video games are fairly harsh. They did say the series is do for a reboot, and this is the reboot of the series, and they did give it a positive review. I'm so totally looking forward to this. Regardless of what Game Informer said. I've loved Pokemon since the fourth grade.
I'm excited for the whole thing!! Its been a while since the have changed up the game play & style. So far the videos & screenshots have looked really good. I also love all the events!!
