The Global Link has been officially announced on the English Pokemon site.

The Global Link is a system that allows Pokemon Black and White DS games to be synced up to an online account. From there, players can continue playing on the PC.

The Dream World allows players to design a home for their Pokemon, and features a garden where berries can be grown. Other Pokemon and items can also be found in the Dream World, and then transferred back to Black and White DS games.

The Global Link allows more connectivity to other players as well. In addition to visiting the Dream World of your own Pokemon, you can also stop by your friends' accounts for other games and to help them grow berries in their gardens.

The Global Battle Union offers online tracking of your battle statistics. You can view your battle history and compare your ranking on a global scale. If your ranking is high enough, you can even receive an invite to an official tournament.

The Global Trade Station also returns, allowing you trade Pokemon with players all over the world.

When will it actually be set up for the U.S.? Will we have to wait until the day the games come out, or will it be up in advance?

@frenchhorn95 Considering that the Global Link is useless without a copy of Black or White, there's no reason to expect it to be available before March 6th.

Hey, I just want you guys to know that I was at GameStop today and saw promo-cases for Black and White and on the back of them I saw a triple battle with Pansage. The two other pokemon with it (though not in the shot) were Pansear (the Fire Moneky) and Panpour (the Water Monkey).

I bet it'll be great! but won't it have the issues that the japanese GL had at first?

@Manafi They've had some time to work out the kinks, but considering the sheer volume of new players that will be jumping on during the March 4th-6th timeframe, it is likely that the servers may have trouble keeping up. We'll see.

@Majin Pichu, No it isn't. Farmville is more about growing crops and harvesting from animals. In the global link you don't grow or harvest any pokemon. It's more like the pokewalker, but a million times better. In the aspect of interaction with your pokemon.

I was worried that BW wouldn't have a GTS, but it's ok now. I can't wait for BW Versions! And for when I access the Dream World!

Well, it's about time. I'm so very excited for this, by the way, has anyone else set up a pokemon.com account in advance? I know I have, and it's kind of fun sometimes...

Oh. Wow. Global Battle Union sounds cool. Official tournament, huh? Awesome. I wonder if there are any prizes (probably not, but what if you get like, a star for your trainer card for winning?)


And I'm expecting the B/W GTS to be clogged up with 'offering lv 3 patrat for lv 100 reshiram'. I probably won't use it anyway =

DANG IT. I was in eb games yesterday and i forgot my ds... Hopefully ill be able to access them through WiFi (i will be able to get them over wifi right...right?)

Yes there will be a lot of that unfortunetly. I will still be using it, since it's the only way im able to trade.
