The list of Nintendo Events has been updated again. Now included are both a Zoroark and a Zuruggu for Japan, as well as a distribution of the Liberty Pass in Europe.
A few important things to note: this is the first English-language publication to use Victini's name - see Page 59. Also, all of these events will be conducted over WiFi connection. Due to the timing, the Zuruggu will only be available to Japan, but the Zoroark and Liberty Pass are likely to be available to all players, since the games will have released in much of the world by that point.
Other new events include the Legendary Beasts for Europe, also over Nintendo WiFi Connection, and a Celebi available at Spaceworld stores in Norway. The beasts will likewise be available to non-European players as well thanks to the nature of the Nintendo WFC.
That list of BW Pokemon names is old and has been posted in the Talkbacks several times now. It seems pretty legit and more and more names are being confirmed from that list but we've already said we're not updating the Psydex with new English names until we have official sources.
I was wondering, why are the japanese names for Gen 5 pokemon on this site different than what I've seen on other sites for the japanese names. I'm just wondering why that is.
@Biosci a lot of other sites have been taking Romanization into their own hands, I'm pretty sure. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Psypoke has been keeping the names the original Japanese names without 'paraphrasing'. Example, Wooguru is Braviary's name in Japanese, so a lot of people were just calling it Wargle because they knew that's where the Japanese name was trying to go with it.
@Biosci What Spoinkable said. In Japanese, there's the exact transliteration and the trademarked "what it's supposed to be." Charizard is Rizadon but it's officially spelled Lizardon.
Yeah, we've always gone with the straight translation without trying to fix anything. This is why I've always insisted on having Zorua's Japanese name as "Zoroa" despite the Pokemon being revealed in a Japanese magazine with the English name "Zorua," which makes no sense but unfortunately made its way across the ocean for the English name.
Thanks, and does anyone know if zoroark's illusion ability does anything with type? I tried to test it out when I fought N, but zoroark to the form of gigigiaru and I use a fight type move and either way that would be super effective, so yeah please answer.
This years VG Championships for black and white are announced. Main changes are Your team can only be from the Unova Pokedex and ... Well thats all I know for now everything else looks about the same, until the next update for the site.
Here's a list of English names. The same website says they are confirmed now, but I'm a little iffy about some of them. Stoutland? What kind of pokemon name is that? Some of them look legit though.
