Recovery, GPCT, and More Black and White[permalink]

Thank you all for bearing with us during our recent server issues. I'm happy to report that the server is much more stable now - still not 100%, but a vast improvement. Many thanks to our tech support guys for handling that, and I hope we don't give them a heart attack this weekend.
We're not the only ones who have been experiencing more traffic than expected, either. Nintendo's Global Link actually had to close down shorty after opening because of all the players trying to use it. If that seems absurd, bear in mind that after two days, there were 2.63 million copies of Black and White sold in Japan (and also imported elsewhere). That's over 1 million more sold than the Diamond and Pearl launch, for reference.
As for us and our site, we've been busy. First off, the Great Pokemon Character Tournament has finally come to a close. In the final battle between Lance and Red, who will emerge as the victor? Find out for yourself!
We've also continued working on combing through the vast amount of information we've collected from these new games. The Psydex is making excellent progress. We hope to have the Locations data sorted out and added soon. Although the Psydex still lists Rotom's appliance forms as Ghost/Electric, they are now Electric/Fire (Heat), Electric/Grass (Mow), Electric/Flying (Fan), Electric/Water (Wash) and Electric/Ice (Frost) Pokemon in BW.
The TechDex has also been updated accordingly, with all the new attacks seen in Black and White. General descriptions of the new attacks have been added, but keep in mind that these are tentative and might change as the moves are tested. Also, a list of older moves that have changed can be found here.
One of the big changes is that TMs no longer break after a single use, so having a TM/HM List is more useful than ever!
We'll continue working hard over the next few days to get the rest of the data we have into the site, and also to write up guides and other content (which is not an easy thing to do when playing in a foreign language!).
In the event of further server troubles, you can always check in with us via Facebook and Twitter.
A lot of these new attacks are quite interesting, like Psycho Shock, Boiling Water and Ice Breath. By the way, I noticed you guys wrote 1 as Dragon Tail's priority, but it always goes last...either way, great job on all the updates!
So much ........................................................... ....................... ............... ............................................................ @_@
can u guys just post who the winner is cause i don't have time to watch 10 min of .................................................... i'm gonna assume the winner is red though.
I'm actually surprised all the images from B/W are still up on this site..... Every other Pokemon affiliated site has had to take them all down. Including Serebii and Pokebeach
wait... tackle's power has gone up? why the hell is that? i also noticed a trend, higher stats, but they evolve much later, fun idea, we'll see how it plays out
another thing i'm stoked for is being able to use TM's again and again, since before i always had trouble deciding who should learn moves like poison jab, shadow ball, and ice beam i also like that there are a lot of new, medium power, good PP type moves, so if i don't think i have enough of a move type i can just teach it to someone

really!? ............. so what is that suposed to mean!? number of votes!? so who won!?
Here's the sad panda you requested Frost!.........................................@Spoinkable-I think it is....................................................
Red says nothing but ellipsis-marks when you talk to him in HeartGold/SoulSilver for the final battle. Hence all those .......................... lines, I assume.
@ greatgonzo: This isn't a chat board, my friend. This is for comments about the news post. It would probably be better for you to go to the forums if you wish to chat with people.
Personally, the Rotom type change is a welcome addition. I was wondering why they did not just do that in Platinum.
For the GPCT results....I hate to sound like a noob, but I still can't entirely say who won.... true, Red said ........................when you beat him, but I believe he may have done the same if he won......we're all probably overthinking this or just hoping Lance won, though.

i looked through the dex and some of those evo levels are preposterous!......................................................................................................... level 64 for the dark/ dragon..............................................................................................................................outrageous...................................................................
@mudkip eez awsome Yes, they're...............................................................................................................................outrageous. At least you get Ononokusu before level 50.
Uh I just posted a really long post, but I pressed preview and exited, so pretty much FML. Anyways In summary i said Go Red...Annoying Clicking...Why Lance I don't even remember him... etc. huh... ITS NOT THE SAME THIS TIME!!!!
I always loved the part where Red says "............................................................................................................................................................"
lol, why is there a water type attack with a 30% burn rate? I would imagine that the attack is going to translate to something along the lines of boiled water... Also, the new psychic move that hits with special attack on physical defense will definitely be interesting when fighting pokemon like Blissey. On another note, can someone just say who won the GPCT?
It's possible they'll translate the Japanese name "Boiling Water" directly into English. Otherwise, I guess the attack would probably be called Steam Burn.
Here's an interesting question. You know that new attack whose name translates into "Low Kick"? The move we call Low Kick actually means "Kick Down" in Japanese. What English name will they give this new move, I wonder? The literal translation is already taken.
The translators will just think of another name for the "Low Kick" move. Our Meteor Mash was Japan's "Comet Punch," so it's happened before. (Our Comet Punch is their "Consecutive Punch," for the record.)
