BW is out in Japan and the information is spilling across the Internets. First and foremost, the Pokemon. The rumored starter evolutions ARE LEGITIMATE. There are NO Isshu Pokemon that are related to pre-existing Pokemon. Yes, that means Buffalon and Tauros, Mamanbou and Luvdisc and whatever else ARE NOT connected.
Pokemon with alternate forms include Kenhorou, Basurao, Darumakka, Hihidaruma, Purumiru, its evolution, and apparently one of the event Legendaries. Click here for the list.
Thanks goes to Pokexperto for some sprites and the users at 2ch for the others.
New type combos include Grass/Steel, Normal/Grass, Bug/Electric, Bug/Fire, Dark/Dragon, Fire/Psychic, Ground/Dark, Dark/Fighting, Ghost/Water, Ghost/Fire, Electric/Ground, Ghost/Ground, Steel/Dark, Fighting/Rock, pure Flying, Dragon/Fire, Dragon/Electric and Dragon/Ice.
Tsutaaja evolves into Jyanobii at Level 17, who evolves into Jyarohda at Level 36.
The event Zoroa starts at Level 10. It evolves into Zoroark at Level 30.
Giga Drain has been changed from 60 Power to 75 Power.
There are only eight PC boxes to start. It's unknown if you can get more later in the game.
Belle starts with the Starter who is weak against your own. She'll catch a Yorterri before your second match against her.
Makomo asks you to get Munna from an abandoned lot. Later on, you can get one of the Monkey Trio from the same lot.
The HMs in BW are Cut, Fly, Surf, Strength, Waterfall and Dive. The TMs have been changed since DP's set, but there's still over fifty.
There are eight Gyms. The first is Grass/Fire/Water depending on your Starter as previously reported. Aloe is still the second Gym Leader and her type is still Normal-type. The other Gyms are, in order, Bug, Electric, Ground, Flying, Ice and Dragon. The eighth Gym Leader changes depending on your version. Iris from the anime is the eighth Gym Leader in White, while an older man named Shana is the eighth in Black.
My big sis is gonna be happy that there's gonna be a fire/bug type..... W00T!!!!!!!! Dive's back!!!!! WTF?!?!? no rock type?!?!? I wonder what the ice/dragon pokemon will be. yin....yang......and? And a pure flying type that's not arceus ^_^ Another mirror pokemon? and what's the deal with mamanbou? am i the only one who thinks there are too many pokemon that can change forms or has another form or is a nonlegend with a (few) counter part(s)? I love that grass steel pokemon!
The final evos for the starters don't look all that bad now that I see them in game. Maybe it was just the art on the leaked pictures that made them look so terrible to me. I can accept them now. ={D
Excellent work on getting them all up here for us so soon after the release! All of the bug and grass types are so cute, and I am so excited for Monmen and Erufuun. Sheep pokemon are the sweetest~
Not to be picky or anything but a couple of the image links are either broken or images of a different Pokemon. Just thought I should point that out. Great job by the way on getting all this info so quickly.
wats with the different gym leader tat changes depending on wat u pick and i think all the new pokemons still lok bad xcept for the starter and the yin yang legendary
mudkip eez awsome(16 Sep 2010 at 11:43am PDT)Reply
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GAWD. this is awesome! it still has like 6 more months and im already pising my pants! (im especialy excited bout the seal unicorn =)
So, I see the pictures of the new pokemon. And to be honest, I think the staff has officially run out of ideas. The new pokemon look weird and silly. Pokemon should stop, like now.
half of them make me want to scream with joy the other half make me go "WTF?" though i know some of them i'm going to get(the chandelier pokemon and the jellyfish and the gothic chick)
The pokemon this season are iffy. There are some I know i'm going to catch like kibago and doryuuzu and especially the new rock/water type turtles. I guess they are the new fossil pokemon. Maybe you can get fossils underwater in this game. I mean Dive + rock turtle=ancient underwater fossil?
I like em. They all have a uniqenes to them that hasn't been seen before. Yeah some of them make me scratch my head, and some of them make me giddy with joy. I cant wait to get a copy . This gen is gonna rock.
I had high hopes for the evolution of the little terrier pokemon. Somethine epic like Arcanine, y'know? Ah, well...
I'm like everyone else. Half of the pokemon look pretty cool, but the rest are just plain odd. I'm sure they'll grow on us over time, just like every generation before them did.
relax, they are just pictures from the game.wait until the art and the pokedex entries. i think that the story that lies beneath every pokemon makes it look awsome or not...
Personally, they are far too many Fire and Darks and not nearly enough Ice, but kids love the first two types so GameFreak had to pile them into the game, especially after "BAWWW SINNOH HAD NO FIRES" even though Fire NEVER has been as neglected as Ice.
this is actually rather diverse for the generation. I'm really looking forward to this just because the bug and fighting type finally got some actual love for the first time.
THEY LOOK LIKE FAN FIC FOR ME the exeptions are: the starters are ok Gigaiasu top 5 the monkeys Ononokuso top 5 Zoroa/ Zoroark top 5 the fire baboon is cool the dark leopard is also cool the electric spider the sea turtle im geting used to the croc ones
The WTFs are: -ALL THE LEGENDS BUT BLACK/WHITE (I liked these two) -the kimono ones >.< -those under the earth crabs -the one that looks like poo with grass upside - I didnt like the robots and more ?? AGAIN: THEY LOOK LIKE FAN FICS FOR ME
@Frost glad to know that the people who run my favorite pokemon news website are so nice i wasn't whining, i'm just stating a fact we defiantly didn't need this many bug ones sure some of them are cool, but i think most of them are unnecessary, also way too many grass, glad to see that there are more fire types i like that there are more ghost pokemon(i love the chandelier) why doesn't Basurao have an evolution? i think that the fossils and very cool and original(turtle and archaeopteryx) i didn't like DPP's fossils very much an ice cream cone? really? water/ghost jellyfish love it the spiky grass thing looks.....interesting does it do yardwork??? love the leech, shouldn't it be water or poison type thought? so there, my thoughts you can all yell at me now if you wish
I kind of like this set. I'm stoked about 15 new fighting types to try out, though, like Frost, I would have loved to see more Ice types. Can't wait for the game!
Some of the Poke'mon are like fakes, but I can't argue. Anyways, Otomaru looks like something picked off a Mario game. It doesn't look like a real pokemon, but again, I don't know what's going on in the creators' minds. Some of the Poke'mon looks based on a past poke'mon:
as far as type amounts go i think its okay just a very different direction from previous gens most of the pokemon are pretty cool but i just can't get over the garbage bags or Zuruggu/Zuruzukin
Though I'm not fully intrigued by the design choices of some pokemon (giant ice cream cones? o.O"), the whole concept of a bug and fighting revolution harkens to the original concept of bug/martial arts fighting pokemon grew off of. Before statistics or "save the environment" messages were shoved down the players throats, I think that Gamefreak has decided go back and start all over; route 1 anyone? But I digress, my water/ghost has made it and that design is super cool, and can only be diminished if it were the tentacruel replacement. oh, and power to the quadruped fighting types, though it makes very little sense to me :)
I love how anytime I say anything negative I'm so meeaaaaan and disrespectful.
wickedwizard, if you would have just said "There are too many bugs" ONCE, I would have had no issue. Instead, you spammed up the Talkbacks with about four different posts saying "There are too many bugs! There are too many bugs! There are too many bugs!!!!" There was especially NO REASON to post three times in a row to say the same thing, and it just sounded like childish whining to me, so I called you on it.
I Like , like most people, half of them.. It's cool that there are more fire.. but more ice would be great too. and about the Luvdisc thing... some people need to eat some nasty stuff xD
Oh no, only Fire starter have secondary types, So i going to use Pokabu. I like monkeys evo and Zeburaika I think BW pokemon are ugly but after the release I see that the pokemon better than gen IV.
After lookin at ALL the oics for the pokemon, I still have to say that there is a uniquiness here. This is a totla reboot for gamefreak, and I have to say, from what i've seen so far, they did a great job.
I really like the distrapution of the types this tiem around. I just really hope we get more than eight boxes cause how the heck are we gonna store 5 generations of pokemon in 8 boxes???
Oh yeah the dragon for thsi gen ARE FREAKIN SWEET.
Well, there are some pokemon I'm happy to welcome, some are just meh and then there are some that are just not Pokemon forme. I won't accept them, I did the counting and got 44 out of 156 pokemon I don't accept. You can see the list here: http://shether.deviantart.com/art/112-out-of-156-179542997
Damn. I have to eat my shoes now... No, I am NOT sending in a video, for privacy reasons.
I stand by my word from before, that Mamanbou would have made no sense except as an evolution for Luvdisc. The only explanation I can think of is that the creators' idea of a "completely new start" meant that they didn't mind creating a lookalike.
It wasn't a coincidence, it was a lazy design. They could have at least changed the colour or something.
@VivianLeeScott You DO realize that the only images out there right now that we, Serebii, Pokebeach, or ANYONE else out there has are the SCREENSHOTS of the sprites that Pokexperto took, right?
I like them. Some of them I don't like and som of them I love, like the seaturtle and the evo of the zebra, the vulture was so cool!! I must have it! the robot-pokemons looks like digimons though. Some of them are ugly. I'm not that disappointed and that makes me happy, yeah i'm pretty satisfied.
Jyarooda - the Grass Snake; Daikenki - the sea-monster; Mamepato - the Baby Pigeon; Gigaiasu - the rock monolith; Warubiaru - the crocodile; Desukaan - the Coffin; Swanna - the water bird; Mebukijika - the seasonal deer; Emonga - the Flying Squirrel; Purumiru - the water ghost; Denchura - the Electric Spider; Nattorei - the metal plant; Shibirudon (don't know what it is, but it's cool); Shanderaa - the chandelier; Buffalon - the bull; Wooguru - the Eagle.
