Just a week before the release of the games, October's copy of Corocoro has fully leaked on 2ch.
On the first pages, we see a member of Team Plasma named Geechisu, whom you meet in Garaku Town. We also learn that N has the cat Pokemon pictured next to him.
Next up we have Yanappu, who had been revealed previously on Pokemon Sunday. His species is the "Grass Monkey" and he weighs 10.5kg and stands at 0.6m. His new counterparts are Fire-type Baoppu, the "High Temperature" Pokemon, and Water-type Hiyappu, the "Wave Splash" Pokemon, who appears from behind in BW's box art. Baoppu is 0.6m tall and weighs 11kg, while Hiyappu is 0.6m and 13.5kg. Each of these is a pure member of their respective typings and has Gluttony. Also, Emonga and Victiny appear, but the only new piece of information is that they both get new attacks.
Next, we've seen several of the Pokemon from these two pages in previous leaks. Basurao is the Water-type fish from the BW Demo Tour, and it has two forms: one red and one blue. Known as the "Violent" Pokemon, its abilities are Reckless and Adaptability. The new cat Pokemon, Choroneko, who appeared in the background of a BW Preview commercial, is the "Bad Cat" Pokemon and is Dark-type. Its abilities are Limber and Unburden. Next to it is a completely new dog Pokemon, Yorterri, which is a reference to the York Terrier. It is the "Puppy" Pokemon, a Normal-type with Pickup.
On the opposite page, we have four Pokemon who were revealed ages ago in a trailer aired during Ota Suta. First up is Desukaan, the "Coffin" Pokemon, who is a Ghost-type with a new ability. Below it is Ononokusu, the "Chin Horn" Pokemon, who is a Dragon-type with Rivalry and Mold Breaker. Next is Denchura, the "Electric Spider" Pokemon, who is Bug/Electric-type (editorial comment: AWESOME!) and gets Compoundeyes and a new ability. Finally, we have Doryuuzu, the "Deep Earth" Pokemon, who is a Ground/Steel-type and gets two new abilities. It is Moguryuu's evolution, just to remind you all.
On the next page, we see a new bull Pokemon, Buffalon, the "Headbutt Cow" Pokemon. It seems to fit with the idea that the games will have some American-influenced designs, such as Wooguru, since it has an afro. It is a Normal-type who gets Reckless and a new ability. Next is a small Rock-type, Dangoro; it is the "Mantle" Pokemon and gets Sturdy as its ability. Mebukijika, Shikijika's evolution, is the "Season" Pokemon. It retains Shikijika's Normal/Grass-type and abilities: one is Chlorophyll and the other is new.
On the opposite page we see the previously-revealed Tabunne, who is the "Healing" Pokemon. It is a Normal-type with two new abilities. Next is Monmen, the Grass-type "Cotton Ball" Pokemon, who also gets two abilities. Churine, the "Root" Pokemon, is another Grass-type who has Chlorophyll and Own Tempo. Monmen is exclusive to Black, while Churine is only found in White. Finally, the Pokeball on the bottom of the page is Tamagetake, the "Mushroom" Pokemon, who is a Grass/Poison-type with Effect Spore.
Next, we see the middle evolutions of the Starter trio. Tsutaaja becomes Jyanobii, the "Grass Snake" Pokemon, who is a pure Grass-type; it is 0.8m tall and weighs 16kg. Pokabu becomes Chaobuu, the "Fire Pig" Pokemon, is a Fire/Fighting-type who is 1m tall and weighs 55.5kg. (Editorial comment: Not that type for the Fire Starter AGAIN!) Finally, Mijumaru becomes Futachimaru, the "Meditation" Pokemon, who is pure Water-type, stands at 0.8m and weighs 24.5kg. All three have the typical starter abilities: Overgrow, Blaze and Torrent. Reshiram and Zekrom also have signature attacks, Cross Thunder and Cross Fire, that get stronger when used together. This page also confirms that the starter evolutions previously posted are real.
Finally, it turns out that Dento is only one of THREE Gym Leaders for Sanyou City, and the one you battle depends on your Starter, as you will battle the one with the type advantage. Dento's Fire-type counterpart is Poddo and his Water-type equivalent is Kon, and they each use their respective elemental monkey. Since Dento is the true Grass-type Gym Leader, previous reports of Aloe being one were mistaken. Corocoro implies that she is actually a Normal-type Gym Leader.
The last few pages just give some basic information about event Pokemon and the Dream World. Zoroa is obtained in Hiun City while Zoroark is found in Lost Forest when the movie 13 Pokemon have been transferred. Hiun is also where communication is enabled with the Gen IV titles, at which point you can transfer Pokemon with the Pokeshifter mini-game.
The Dream World is accessed via PC, and you play mini-games there. If you do well at them, you can bring the Dream World's Pokemon back to BW with you. Aerodactyl, Lotad and Magikarp are pictured as examples of terrain-specific Pokemon in the Dream World, as the latter two are in ponds while Aerodactyl is in the sky. Also, it turns out that you don't need to catch Munna to access the Dream World - Makomo lends you her own.
That's it for this month's Corocoro. Junichi Masuda appeared on the final episode of Pokemon Sunday before the games' release. He confirmed much of the information we see here from Corocoro.
So much love here. Kitty is awesome. Puppy is awesome. Bambi's father is awesome. Denchura and Desukan are great. The starters are cool. The monkeys don't bother me anymore because THERE ARE THREE SANYOU GYM LEADERS AHHH AWESOME.
Very awesome pokemon here!!! i can't wait to play with them. Also i got i big disappiont when i found that chaobuu is fire fighting...?? 2 was stupid enough(whichcanbe explained by the division of physical and special).
I think it is going to be the first time for me to choose the grass type as starter(i've always chose the fire one since red and blue)
Denchura Is so cute! Baffalon looks like tauros, Mebukijika gets a forest on his head, Monmen looks like skipploom, Churine looks like oddish and Tamagetake is spoink with a pokeball on his head! That not really original... And 1 gymleader is enough if you ask me. (How are they going to do THAT in the anime?)
Well, the starter evos are real...oh well, I'll just learn to love them. I can't get enough of monkey pokemon so that's great and I find it strange that they would use the pokeball design on a pokemon, I mean his head actually looks like real pokeball. It's also surprising that Shikijika evolves and isn't only treated like a gimmick for the season changes.
Oh my gosh!! Pokabu's evo was REAL??!! :-( Ah, I better start with Mijumaru or Tsutaja if their final evo are dual type. Boappu n Hiyapuu were cool and cute, but I hate Yanapuu. That buffalon looks like Tauros evo. Dangoro like a Rock-Robot with one eye. and I think Ononokusu 90% was Kibago evo!Shijika evo looks cool, too!
Chances are Pokabu's final evolution is only one of the three who has a dual type, since all of Corocoro's information is line with previous rumors that say the final evolutions are Grass, Water and Fire/Fighting.
Frost, in Sinnoh the same exact thing happened chimchar gained a secondary type before all the other starters, Also I think Mijumaru's evo will be Psychic because it is the meditation pokemon
A pokemon with half of a pokeball in his head XD he is like saying CATCH ME!. And the starters 2nd evo are real ^^ but I hope the 3rds aren't well at least for the fire one...
A-Fire fighting again? Guess ill see how the others turn out.
B- The monkeys, do they have a single prevo, or are they seperate?
C- Bug/electric= SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. Hopefully there will be more new typings.
D- Overall im really lookin foreard to B/W, but im still not sure if imgonna get it or wait till the third game. (of course i can get b/w And ther third game, hehe.)
C"MON!!! A another fire/fighting starter, the person who made it should be FIRED!!! I mean, really? We don't need another, there just dishing out more and more pokemon, not for the fans, just for the money. I'm so close to not getting this game just for that reason, but i'll guess i'll just go with the water starter. Sigh... they could have done better :/
i hope that the monkeys all share a prevo. and i bet that one game will get the monkey and the other will get the deer. do you think thats a evolution of tauros
HOLY CRAP!!! AWESOMENESS!!! the sarcophagus looks more awesome, now that we've seen the Sugimori art. And i gotta get that Electric spider!! Pokeball based pokemon that isn't a pokeball (voltorb)?? more awesome-sauce!! this has me really excited. hopefully they will reveal when the games'll be revealed elsewhere on Pokemon Sunday. SO EXCITED!!!
Its the final news push to make everyone really excited about b/w, and it worked! You gotta figure if the starters were faked they probably would have been quickly disproven, but since they were not quickly disproven its not a big suprise they are real. Overall the starters evos are pretty good. As many have said the fire/fighting combo is getting old. thats the only thing I really dont like. Now the other pokemon with this update are just flat out awesome.
SWEET! the monkeys all have evolutions, so says pokebeach, poke beach also hinted that they will release new pokemon every day leading up to black and whites release, pokemon sunday tomorrow is supposed to be HUGE, and I think that the starters will look good with the sugimori art

Did anyone notice that all the eevee-lutions are typically special-based types? Ya think a new physical-typing evolution pokemon is in the works? I truly hope so! Furthermore, the starters being part of the dark/psychic/fighting pseudo-trio isn't so far fetched anymore? On the topic, we need a new Farfetch'd now! :)
My two cents (gotta have someone with an evolution theory every time there's a new leak, right?):
Dangoro looks like it might be a pre-evolution of Gigaiasu, for three reasons: the black rock core, the shared Sturdy ability, and the inherent connection between the concepts of "Mantle" and "High-Pressure".
Ononokuzu, the Jaw Horn Pokemon, may be an evolved form of the Tusk Pokemon, Kibago. Three reasons again: they're both Dragons, they have the same abilities, and they both have horns on either side of their jaws. I expect to see another stage between the two, though - I don't expect Kibago to evolve directly into Ononokuzu.
And, aside from possible evolutions...
The Bad Cat is very cool, and Buffalon is awesome. There is no way I'm getting another Fire/Fighting-type starter. I adore the Electric Spider! I'll have to change my name to DarkDenchura now...
Blaziken sucked and Infernape was my least favorite Sinnoh Starter. And Pokabu is still awesome to me so I'm picking Fire for the first time since Charmander. :O
Hate tsutaajas evo, the puppy and pokabus evo is just ugly. Unnecessary with three gymleaders. We only need one gymleader! The same with the monkeys, though baoppu was cool. The rest of the pokemon were awesome. I think i'm going with pokabu anyway, though it's a fire/fighting starter again. Overall the final evo of pokabu is pretty cool. I expected some tusks on it but i guess you can't get everything. I can't help i fell in love with pokabu right away.....
everything looks great! im upset that they decided to use another monkey for a fire type in two consecutive generations :P also a little bit upset that the fire starter will be another fire fighting. other than that everything looks great! i just want the full dex to come out all ready so i (we) can see what other cool pokemon there are!
also if u look at that list from the spanish pokemon site they have a list of pokemon that proves the the tusk pokemon evoles to the Ononokuzu but not directly
I promised myself that I would go with mijurmiru just because he was ugly and no one else would pick him, but I might go with pokabu because everyone hates him :/ he's probably going to be the best anyways
I'd have to say that the most significant news here is the change in how Gym Leaders start off in the game. It's great to finally see some real CHALLENGE. Having the first Leader have an advantage over you no matter your type, and then a Normal-type Gym (meaning only an evolved Pokabu has an advantage) makes things much more interesting than "pick the one that automatically beats the first two gyms."
I agree with jigglypuff. The gyms always needed to be a little more challenging. I would usually only lose a gym fight if I got really unlucky. The 3 gym leader idea is nice because it makes players start thinking about covering their weaknesses early. And how about team plasma leader's outfit? Imagine waking up a putting that on every day...
that guy is a member of theam plasma, "N" will be the leader, I love the three gym leader Idea though I thought it would be a triple battle, disappointment, and dangoro reminds you of beldum because he is extraordinarily similar to beldum, dangoro evolves into an unknown pokemon and then into gigaiasu
@dunsparce king sorry to kill you, but they aren't making any evos for old pokemon and since this is probably the last generation, dunsparce will continue to be the most useless pokemon aside from magikarp, personally I belive dunsparce was a joke haha
I can prove dusparce'l evolve to it the colors are an exact match th wings on dunsparce'l turn into the arms on the coffin and they both have a comminaudity they both belong in a maze like space underground wich is what pharros did to anger grave robbers
I don't get why everybody's hating on Pokabu just cause he's another fire/fighting I mean dang, now he's the only starter I like. I guess, even if B/W is supposed to be a new start, it's still following the rules of starter-goodness decline.
@ dunsparce king: Matching color schemes doesn't necessarily prove that Desukaan is an evolution of Dunsparce. The Viceroy butterfly has the same color scheme as the Monarch butterfly, but they belong to different genera.
Also, I don't see why Pokemon from the first four generations won't get evolutions in Black/White. After all, at least in Diamond/Pearl, Pokemon from previous generations got evolutions that didn't show up until you got the National Pokedex. The same thing could happen in Black/White.
I am half dissapointed and half happy. Happy because it looks like Tauros gets an evolution wich looks REALLY cool and Growlithe may get a pre-evolution.That little puppy as even got Growlithe's colors. I am dissapointed because the creator forgot taht PIGS LIKE MUD!!!A fightning pig?Come on!And if the 2nd evolutions of these starters are true I think I won't pick any of them(OK, I will pick Tsutaja because I like grass Pokemon and snakes. Gigaisu has got a pre-evolution that looks a little weird but Denchura and Ononkusu are GREAT.Desukaan is spooky and cool in the same time and I think this Gen's theme is Egypt because the last Pokemon will be a Steel-Bug Pokemon so it may be a Scarab. In the end, the three brothers remind me of Aipom.Their ears and tails...Aipom has got a HAND instead of a tail. These have got on their tails:2 leaves, a flame and 3 bubbles. And with 156 Pokemon I think this gen will be the coolest and the LAST one.
Can we stop with the "OMG THEY'RE ENDING THE SERIES!1!!!" stuff already? None of the three companies in charge of the franchise have any intention of letting their cash cow die. Pokemon is the second-best selling video game series of all time and it's quickly approaching the #1 series - Super Marios Bros. - so it's in no danger of suddenly disappearing.
@ dunsparceking + brunobig look guys, I along with many other people would love to see many evolutions to old pokemon but because of their whole "new pokemon experience" deal and "no old pokemon until after the elite four" they WILL NOT evolve dunsparce tauros luvdisc and many others who direly need evos, when I first heard that news I was crushed by the proposition that there were no more eeveelutions,
Oh my gawwd, i just realised that if the thing is true about no evolutions related to pokemon from previous generations then that luvdisc evolution can't be a luvdisc evolution... which seems stupid considering the resemblance.
Yes, I can't wait to watch everybody who was like "Well Mamanbou IS OBVIOUSLY A LUVDISC EVOLUTION" eat crow when it's officially confirmed that Mamanbou and Luvdisc have no relation.
The one thing I'm wondering is why couldn't Pokemon from previous generations have ties to the new generation as far as evolutions go? Just because only Isshu Pokemon will appear before you get the National Dex doesn't mean that Pokemon from Isshu won't be able to have evolutionary relatives from other regions. I wholeheartedly agree with KokiriWolf on that matter. But, only time will tell.
well it is supposed to be physically impossible to obtain an old pokemon before you beat the elite four so if a pokemon had evolutionary ties, you could breed to get an old pokemon, sothats why they won't do that
Well, just look at Diamond and Pearl. You can't get the National Dex until you've filled the Regional one, even though they have Pokemon that were new to that generation. Maybe you'll SEE the Isshu Pokemon that evolves into/evolves from a previous generation and be unable to catch said Pokemon until the National Dex is obtained. They haven't outright said that they won't have evolutionary relatives within the generations for this one so I don't see why everybody is already being so fatalistic about there being "no evolutions" or whatnot regarding the new Pokemon. Personally I just plan to wait and see.
People are saying that there won't be any new evolutions because that's the rumor. From the same sources who revealed the very same Starter middle evolution designs (and described several of the new, previously-unseen Pokemon in the magazine) DAYS before Corocoro was leaked.
Sure, nothing is definitely set in stone at the moment, but the internet has built up enough good will at this point that I believe BW will have 156 new Pokemon and all of them will be unrelated to old ones for the time being.
Well, I'll just wait and see. I tend not to put much weight on rumors. Just because a source has had their rumors confirmed before doesn't mean they all will. I'm content to just wait and see, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
As WPM says, he got the information from the webmaster of Pokexperto. This was BEFORE Corocoro leaked, yet Melkor described Yorterri, Chaobuu, Monmen, Churine and Basurao's second form with total accuracy. He even provided SKETCHES of what Monmen and Churine looked like that were completely in line with the real versions. That's evidence that I find pretty hard to deny.
Keep in mind that I'm not telling anybody what to believe, especially because we'll all know for sure in a couple of days anyway. But I'm just presenting the facts, that's all.
I dont really care if they have new evos for old pokemon. I like most of the old UU and NU ones the way they are anyway and would not want some of them to have another evo. Im just looking forward to whats probably going to be the best pokemon game ever barring the nostalgia factor. Im more wondering if there will be any twist to the normal storyline.
i think ima start with the water starter cuz that way the first gym will have grass pokemon which i could beat with the native normal flying bird pokemon (i always catch the native normal/flying type pokemon like: pidgy, hoothoot, swellow, and starly)
Maybe some Isshu Pokemon won't be avalible until the National Dex. Maybe that Tauros evolves in Buffalon we will only see Buffalon at trainers after National Dex we will be able to get Tauros and evolve it.Also let's not forget about the transfer machine. It may let us get Pokemon from another Gen before National Dex but I don't think so. P.S. I really don't think Dunsprace and Desukaan have a relation with eachother.Pokemon isn't so crazy to kill a Pokemon to become a mummy Pokemon.
If the rumoured disconnect between this generation and all the previous ones is true, I'll be frustrated that they created certain new Pokemon that so resembled older ones, rather than designing something truly original.
If the rumour is false, then a lot of people who are assuring us otherwise will have to eat their words. And at least there'll be an excuse for some of the new Pokemon echoing existing ones.
Either way, I stand by my ideas from before. You'd have to be just about out of ideas to have to resort to recycling old designs to make new Pokemon. Yes, Frost, that is a clear argument for the approaching end of the series.
i hope they dont remake ruby and saphire yet it feels too soon they should save it for the 3ds and gen 6...............................that way dpp will have more improvements when gen 7 comes
you bring up a good point, I think ruby and saphire will be remade, and I'm not eatin my words yet! yes the mokeys have evolutions, and if this is he last gen, then it probably will be rainbow, I would be torn up if this were the end but then again, I don't want to see gen 17 magenta and cyan, and about 12 billion pokemon to complete the national dex, but if it did end here they would remake these games over and over again and I would be fine with it, and if the did remake the gen 3 games, would they re-remake red and blue?
I'm super stoked about the new games and I'm glad to see them utilizing more of the DS's 3D hardware. I always wondered that if they can cram Mario 64 onto an itty-bitty DS, what's stopping them from making a handheld version of Pokemon Stadium with the same story and RPG elements of the original games?
I'm hoping this release is a stepping stone towards a full 3D pokemon game. Of course, sprites will always have a special place in our hearts--but I would die to see my cute, little monster performing tripped out battle animations in 3rd-dimension.
mudkip eez awsome(14 Sep 2010 at 11:41am PDT)Reply
uhh... guys from what i heard the remake for generation IV is ruby and saphire. and its supossed to be lik day ruby and dawn saphire
On that same note, I hope they put more effort into a 3D Wii game. Battle Revolution was a huge disappointment and a big step back from the Stadium games.
Or, hey, a completely immersive Pokemon MMO! World of Pokemon! Nintendo would rule the earth at that point.
That last statement was a joke, but it'll probably happen one day. Probably when they start running out of ideas.
I would be willing to bet LOTS of money that he won't be grass/dragon
mudkip eez awsome(15 Sep 2010 at 11:40am PDT)Reply
sorry dunceparce king im with robbydebry on this one. and if it is a dual type then it will be a dark type... i think. that would complete my thought about the mijimuru evo being part psychic. and would make a lot of people happy about a dark, psychic, fighting cycle
i like the grass starter but the other two look retarded. And who the heck makes a fighting type pig? *sigh* this is why i feel the need to hack this game when it comes out. i will make the starters Ghost/Dark/Poison.
yay! third post in ONE NIGHT!new record. anyway do u ppl think there is gonna be more eevee evolutions? i would also like to point out the fact my username is not becuase my fav pokamon r pikachu and mew. ilike flareon best
@ticki i dont hate him cause he is a fire/fighting type. ihate him cause he looks retarded. and a fighting type pig? rly? he is a disgrace to fire starters everywhere
I find it too odd that gamefreak confined the eevee evos up till now to special typings rather than physical steels, rocks, grounds, and such, to think that they'll make new ones? I hope they make a new set though... in a new generation apparently hahaha
