Psypoke's New Summer Contest [permalink]

Last year, we had Psypoke Idol 2, where Lugia emerged victorious out of 512 eligible Pokemon. This year, we are holding the second Great Pokemon Character Tournament. We first held this contest entirely on our forums in 2005, and thought it'd be a good idea to bring back to give the site an activity until the release of Black and White. GCPT2 has 128 characters from the main series games, the spinoff games and the anime. The format for the first month will play out exactly like Psypoke Idol's, in which the characters are rated on a 1-5 scale. The top four from the four rounds will move on to a VS format contest in which two characters will be voted on each week and the one with the highest total of votes advances until only one remains. At this rate, GPCT2 will end on BW's release date, September 18th. Voting is now open for Round 1, so get busy! Also, happy fourth of July to my fellow Americans.

I'm a little confused. Are the other characters that weren't on the list going to be on upcoming groups? Anyways, this sounds fun! I can't wait to see the results of the first vote! Happy 4th! Oh, wait, it's the 5th now. :D

@Refinnej: There are 128 characters in the contest. They are devided into four groups of 32. Round 1 is currently running and right now you can vote for the first group. Three more groups are coming up before the first round is over which means there are 96 characters more in the contest.
