Zekrom kinda looks like a cross between Palkia and Mewtwo. Reshiram just looks weird. Can't wait to see what types they are though, that'll be the clincher as to what version I get.

DUUUDE!!! I have to say those are pretty impressive. I was a tad disappointed by the starters, but my faith in these versions is now confirmed. Man, Zekrom just looks like a bamf!

They look pretty good. I am more looking forward to the day when the entire dex is released. Its always the most exciting pre-release moment to me. It's very fun looking over the new pokes and thinking about which ones I want to fight the new elite 4 with. But does anyone know when historically the entire dex is released?

i seem to remember the D/P dex coming out around the time the japanese versions were released, around 6 months before the US release. So maybe this fall? tho i imagine a psypoke admin would know better.

Zekrom looks beast!!! but that probably means that i'll get that one, and since it's on white, all the pokemon i want/like more will be on black.. just my luck... but those look kick-@$$

my brother and i personally think they
look stupid. the white one looks a bit
inappropriate for pokemon. mainly because
of the fur between the legs. we'll have
to see what the rest of the dex is like

Reshiram looks like a Flying/Unknown type, and Zekrom is a Dark/"Fighting" type possibly?
Now, things are getting fun and they look better than the other Generation V Pokemon!

It looks like Reshiram would be Ice/Dragon and Zerkom Dark/Dragon I dont know im just guessing

It looks like the bad starters and good lengendaries seem to balance it out in this new region.

lol yea it is like BlueEyesWhiteDragon and RedEyesBlackDragon. I thought Zekrom more like had the tail of an airplane engine'thing. I'd agree with StayByU I wanna see the whole dex. They'll release the whole dex when the game comes out in Japan though, right? Or a little before?

Im telling you they just added diffrent parts of diffrent pokemons if you look closely and try to imagine the pokemon that has a similar part then you will

Sorry, not seeing it. These Pokemon are not Mewtwo or Palkia or whatever else. One of the only superficial similarities that they have is that they're all bipedal.

They kind of look more like digimon to me (I mean no offense by this). They just don't seem to have any of the original qualities that the originals had. Though I will admit compared to recent legendary pokemon these look like they are in a league of there own.

I was thinking a new alternate world (like Distortion World), only something more along the lines of Virtual or Digital World (ah, Digimon). My reasoning: ReshiRAM and ZekROM.

on the pokemon website, i went to video game news, then clicked this picture. it said that these are the legendaries for the games.

Zekrom looks tech enough to me to be associated with a Virtual World. He has that drill-like airplane engine tail and lining similar to mechanical armor. Reshiram, however, doesn't look that way. But hey, it's just a theory.

They are both Dragon-types.

i bet the giratina of this generation will either be grey or rainbow colored. and one question why is the white one in black and the black one in white seems like it should be opposite. i bet when you transfer them to the game of the same color somthing special happens

@Dusknoir94 It is a bit confusing I'll admit, but the backgrounds are done like that for visual effect, since it would be difficult to make out a black figure against a black background. (same goes for white on white)

here is my theory on the type combos of these guys. since its been confirmed that they are dragons, we can assume that. however, i agree that reshiram looks like he could be ice type, and zekrom definitely looks dark. if this is true, reshiram (as an ice type) would be somewhat resistant to ice attacks, which dragons are weak to, and zekrom (as a dark type) would recieve the same benefit when faced with fighting attacks (which darks are weak to). i hope this is true, and if it's not, i hope the duo get some interesting new defensive abilities (instead of pressure, like every other legendary...).

correction:
zekrom (as a dragon) would be risistant to fighting attacks

also! haha. i just noticed the screenshot of the cave with floating ice (?) crystals. maybe this is where we'll find the legendaries? it has ice and darkness. perhaps!

And Reshiram might be a "Light" type.

Dragon's not resistant or weak to fighting. It's straight normal-effective (if you don't believe me, check the dex)

i stand corrected. either way it looks like a dark type to me. plus, considering theres already a dragon/steel, they probably wont make another so soon. but who knows. we'll probably all be wrong.

Can somebody please explain to me what exactly defines what a "Pokemon" and what a "Digimon" looks like? Because last I checked, there was no criteria for what either can, should or does look like.

Frost, just go look up a Digimon Wiki to see what a Digimon looks like.
Also, I definitely agree with what other people are saying: these guys look like a combination of other Pokemon. To be specific, Zekrom has Slowbro's tail, Palkia's torso, wings, legs, and even arms, if those wing-like things are added to it. While I can not place the head, it reminds me of Aggron or (dare I say it?) Greymon. It is harder to see what Reshiram is made of, but the thing on its head reminds me of Suicune's cape and the wings remind me of Togekiss.
Besides these parts of the bodies which look similiar to other Pokemon's body parts, these guys are all new. Here is an interesting note: Has anyone beside me noted that Reshiram has a pearly luster to it?

with digimons is that there names end with
-mon. i dont think there's a pokemon whose
name ends with a -mon.

As for why they look similiar to other Pokemon, and why they end in RAM and ROM, I can only guess. One possiblitly is that they are created by some computer program, created by the villians, which takes parts of other Pokemon to make some sort of an Ultimate Pokemon, with these guys being the result. Remember, I'm only guessing.

Oh, I forgot to mention this. Hubba, you are right: they are a Blue-eyes White Dragon and a Red-Eyes Black Dragon. LOL.

reshiram looks like a mixture of absol, froslass, suicune, and staraptor with a space shuttle engine on its butt. Zekrom looks like a combo of slowpoke, aggron, rhyperior, palkia, and giratina (origin form)

the Legendary Pok?mon Reshiram will appear on the cover of Pok?mon Black Version and the Legendary Pok?mon Zekrom will be seen on the cover of Pok?mon White Version.------------taken directly from pokemon.com so they are not just on the opposite color so we can see them better

Guys, I know what Digimon is. -_- My POINT is that there's nothing that defines what a Digimon "looks like" and what a Pokemon "looks like" so you should all stop saying "THE NEW POKEMON LOOKS LIKE A DIGIMON!!!!!!"

i think that pokemon are slightly cartoonishier (if there such a word) than digimon and more animal-like since animals are the inspiration.digimon had a more anthropomorphic figures and evolutions and the ability to talk.or at least did their best to look like that...
but that is my point of view...

Maybe the villains of the games will have actually succeeded in creating a new world in these games, and you have to destroy it?

About the digimon things, every single time I look a the Zekrom it reminds me from that when I was a little kid and I watched digimon series. But Frost is still right about that there is nothing that defines what a Digimon "looks like" and what a Pokemon "looks like".

Why do both of the new Legendaries look like Evas from Neon Genesis Evangleon? Does anyone else notice that or is it just me? - o

TheNextLance, I see what you mean. I think its the armor plates on Zekrom. They're similar to an Eva's. That's about the only similarity I see though.

They have giant engine butts? The tails look like engines to me? Interesting... :]

Maybe we'll get some legendaries that don't represent anything but are just strong. I mean, ruler of time, space, and the creator of the universe. They can't do much else except the virtual idea and the day and night, but I think that would be fairly disappointing seeing that they're just taking a step back in strength and what they represent. I'm hoping they'll be legendary just because they're strong and not because they rule something. I also hope that if they represent day and night, that they make a new "light" type (Reshiram).

I don't think they can really start making
new types, too many 'old' pokemon would
qualify like: Ampharos, Solrock, lanturn
etc. and they cant make triple types

They look so dumb!! This is POKEMON, not digimon. Like really slowly over every gen. they go from looking like pokemon to looking kinda like digimon. Why would a pokemon need a fan on its tail??

My first thought when I saw them was "mecha!". Am I the only one who prefers Reshiram?

I does not matter what they look like. The point is they will be there. and while its still a guess im pretty sure Reshiram could be Ice/Dragon because
1. Most Legendaries are Dragon
2. Ice Legendaries aren't common
3.There hasn't Been a Ice/Dragon combo and it sure aint Fire or Electric

Im still not sure about zekrom however because he could be Ghost/steel/dark/any of those. We'll find out when it comes.

And for there purpose i don't know.
Groudon and Kyogre=Land and Sea
Dialga and Palkia=Space and Time
Reshiram and Zekrom=Darkness and Light?
Just a guess. Which brings us to the third Generation V game...

@UrsaKazam I'm sorry to say this, but I have a feeling those two will end up with Pressure, based on the theory that the only mascot Ledgendaries WITHOUT Pressure were that of Rayquaza, Kyogre, and Groudon

There might be some kind of digital world, based on Reshirams and Zekroms look (well at least Zekroms). That might be cool. Specially if the game is 3D.
