There's only one week left now before the North American release of HeartGold and SoulSilver. In celebration of the occasion, we have some more presents for you.
First off, because of some slight changes to the mechanics, make sure to read up on the new Breeding Guide before starting to raise your Pokemon.
Next up, if you still have an old DS or a DS Lite, you can take advantage of the PalPark to import Pokemon from the GBA games into HGSS. Remember; the DSi and upcoming DSi XL can't play GBA games, and thus can't use the PalPark!
As you progress through HeartGold and SoulSilver, you'll begin to unravel the mystery of the Unown and Ruins of Alph. There are several puzzles to solve and many valuable items you can find there.
Finally, as you move through the games, you'll find many opportunities to have your Photo Taken with your Pokemon. We've compiled a nice little guide to let you know where and when that happens.
There's only one week left, and I can promise there's still one more big present on its way before the 14th. Have you preordered your games yet?
Great job Psypoke team, also, those are good PKMN in those pics! By the way, I've heard things about Hoenn appearing in HG/SS, does anyone know if this is true?
You can also get sinnoh pokemon. There will be new radio stations later on after you get the national pokedex. One is called Sinnoh Sound which lets you get sinnoh pokemon and one called Hoenn Sound that lets you get hoenn pokemon. Also after getting national pokedex, some of the trees have sinnoh pokemon when headbutted and the National Park Bug catching contest includes them.
Whoo-hoo! One week left! I just got my National Dex in Platinum up to 420 owned Pokemon with the trading I've been doing with my Diamond and Pearl games (but that's just because I've got two DS's/an older one that's pretty well worn, and a newer one that was its replacement). I was aiming to get to at least 450 before the HGSS release, but that's probably not going to happen without undercutting my actual raising of the creatures. Work's going to be keeping me from my games most of this week, but at least I'll have the money for SS when it comes out.
No, no, no...! Why am i so unlucky. this games are so awesome, and i won't have money to buy them, as I didn't have enough to buy a DS or any other game console... My life is such a boring thing...
I've just dug up my old Pok?mon Gold to prepare mentally for HG and SS. It's actually quite fun but I still can't wait for the re-created version with the new graphics, move sets and quests.
what will the surprise be, more gen 5 fingers crossed. my mom wont let me buy HG until after exams (i'm on trimesters instead of simesters yeah 3 exams a year sucks). GO TYPHLOSION.
Yeah! I have HG preordered, i can barely wait til its available! :D Anyways, im totally going to start with cydaquil, like always. it brings back old memories :*D lol.
Hello Psypoke!!!!! I'm a new user but not new to Psypoke... A couple questions,
1: It seems like we're going to basically play in Kanto and Johto like all the Gyms and such... Is this true?
2: Will we be able to trade from D/P/P from the start of the game or do we have to wait till' the end of the game when we dont care about it anymore?... xD
Anyways... I think this game is going to ROCK!! And Psypoke, you rock as well. :)
@Froboy102: To answer your first question, yes. Like the Gold, Silver, and Crystal games, you'll be playing through what is essentially a two-part storyline. You have to battle your way through the first eight Johto gyms and defeat the Elite Four/Champion, and then travel to Kanto to take on its Gym circuit and finally fight at Mount Silver against Pokemon Master Red (the main character from the Red, Blue, and Yellow games...and supposedly from the manga, though I never read it so I wouldn't for sure).
As for your second question, I'd say it's best to assume the latter... Sadly, HG and SS seem to follow the trend of the last several main-series games.
I'm thinking about getting a DSi XL. does the size have any effect on graphics or do the sprites look blocky and what about 3d games like the legend of zelda:spirit tracks is their improved stylus accuracy? help me make a dicison
@Froboy102: Sorry I had to break it to you like that. I always wondered why they limited the number of Pokemon you could get in the games just to the region-specific ones at first, but apparently that's to keep some kind of challenge in the games.
@Dusknoir94: Personally I'd wait. From what I've read, there's not a whole lot of actual improvement from the DSi, just wider screens (which in turn is compounded by the fact that the DSi didn't improve on much of anything because all they really did was add a camera and eliminate the GBA port, the thing I liked most about the DS Lite).
There have been people complaining that there are too many Pokemon and it's impossible to catch them all in the newer games... but then again, would you really want EVERY Pokemon to be available in the new games, given that there are now over 500 of them? The phrase "spoilt for choice" springs to mind...
I prefer for there to be only regional Pokemon to start with, then a wider selection to choose from later when you've already beaten the Elites.
That way, it's a decent challenge to start with, then when you've already completed the League challenge, you can further refine your team with new kinds of Pokemon.
i hope someday they have a full game with all regions. or a game where you could play as a rocket, or one where you could chose any pokemon that evolves twice ^-^
I really wish my DS was working. The battery has gone bad and so it wont work at all. I can only play Rudy/Sapphire and game prior to those on my GBA SP
@Froboy102: I almost got a Dialga and Palkia stylus when I preorder Diamond version back in 2007, but the person realized that they were only supposed to give out one for the respective game. So, you REALLY lucked out getting both figures.
@trickout42: You should go to Gamestop or another videogame store and ask if they have any used ones that are in relatively good condition. My parents got me one for Christmas becuase my first one was really showing its age. But, if it's just the battery, you might also want to ask if they have those instead. I know some places do replace them, even though there is a service charge.
Oh, crap! I mean, ask if they have a used DS, trickout, not a used battery. Sorry about this double post, everyone, but I just realized that I didn't specify.
I'm opting out on this Jirachi give-away myself. I already have three of them between Sapphire, Diamond, and Platinum versions, and the Pokewalker doesn't interest me as much as the games themselves. But, this is a excellent opportunity for anyone who didn't get a chance to get the Pokemon Colosseum preorder disk back in 2004 (or any other chances to get the Legendary, if there were any. I haven't kept track of giveaway events for a while, so I don't know if there were others). Doom Desire, Future Sight, and Rest are good moves to teach it, aside from the Draco Meteor the Gamestop one is supposed to know. It's a sure-kill strategy if don't mind biding a couple turns (from my experience with the moveset at least).
I want heartgold, i am gonna start off with totadile cause he is awesome xD, lugia is great but hoho is way better in my opinion, but they both the best legends :]
