A New Game and a New Site [permalink]

So, Pokemon Platinum was released in the US today. We'll be adding more content to the Platinum Section in the coming days. Guides will be written, etc. The PsyDex has all the Platinum data already, so feel free to make use of that. The biggest change to the site, as you can see, is our new layout. This layout has been in the works for months, undergoing a careful series of development and testing runs among the staff. What you see today is not the work of myself, or any one individual. It is the combined effort of not only this site's staff, but also the community who has supported us in getting this far. From all of us who coded it, designed it, tested it, broke it, and fixed it over the last several weeks, I hope that you enjoy the changes we've made. In addition to the change in the look and feel of the website, there are a few other changes I'd like to point out. Firstly, you'll notice that the site is now set up to have you log into your forum account on a site-wide level. At the moment, this is only used for posting comments on PsyBlog posts, such as the Talkbacks. This design, however, allows us a great deal of flexibility and potential in the future. This new design will allow us to integrate the community into the website like never before. If you haven't already, take a moment to sign up at our Forums and join us. There are other changes, ones that as of right now, you can't actually see. But, very soon, I think you'll find they'll become quite apparent. And I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed developing them.

Fixed an error that was preventing main page links from showing talkbacks with zero comments. Should be all good now.

Really nice. Psydex is a nice change; layout is neater, colours are brighter, sorting in learnsets is easier. Best part is the site saying hello to me :)

Wow! Really great place now! I remember the site I used to use changed so the menu thing went to the right side so I stopped using it. But Jirachi isn't Psychic-type...Latias and Latios are though! :P

I guess its for the better. So, people have to log in to get full use of the site? That really sucks for them. There is more to come for Platinum, though, I take it? Like a complete Sinnoh Dex update, and post-elite activities? Pokedex locations for gifts and trophy gardens?

I'm glad to see you're all enjoying the changes. Just to prevent any confusion before it happens, no you don't have to log in to get full use of the site. The whole thing works as a Guest. You have, however, always had to log in to comment on blogs. I've simply made the login a global thing to tie the community into the site better. It also means that in the future, we can do things that will allow registered members to gain more from their regular use of the site.

Nothing in any way is restricting a user who is not logged in.
