POKEMON FIRE RED AND LEAF GREEN WALKTHROUGH

#1 :: Knot Island

This part of the game is completely optional, but it's highly recommended that you take this quest. Immediately after beating Blaine at the Cinnabar Gym, Bill will show up and offer you the chance to go to the Sevii Islands. If you pick yes, the top answer, he'll escort you on to a ferry that magically appears from the right side of the screen. This will take you to the first island. If you pick no, you'll be able to pick up this quest at any time by visiting Bill at the Cinnabar Island PokeCenter.

You'll first notice the unusually large PokeCenter. This contains the Network Machine which you can use to trade with Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Colosseum. Unfortunately, you'll have to earn this ability by collecting the Ruby and the Sapphire gems. In addition to a briefing, you'll get a Tri-Pass that allows you passage to the first three islands as well as a new Town Map. You will not be able to travel to Kanto for the time being. You'll also notice that you will not be able to use the PC in the PokeCenter - just take the ferry to Three Island and the regular PC services like Pokemon and Item storage will be available. Your first mission is to head to Two Island and deliver a Meteorite to a friend of Bill. But hey, that can wait - let's go exploring first.

To the south of the PokeCenter is the wharf (You can take the ferry to other islands from here). By surfing further south off the pier, you'll reach Treasure Beach where you'll find some grass, wild Pokemon and a lot of hidden items. However the main prize of the island, Moltres, can be found by heading east and north onto Kindle Road (Bring someone who knows Strength, and someone who can learn Rock Smash) - continue past the trainers and the grass to reach the Ember Spa. Head all the way inside and your Pokemon will be fully healed. Talk to the man by the waterfall and you'll receive HM06 - Rock Smash. Continue north.

You'll reach a mountain (Mt. Ember) - the guy here is the Explosion Move Tutor. To continue, head west by pushing the boulders aside and follow the path around. Use Rock Smash when you get the chance (if you continue further, you'll be at a dead end) and you'll enter a cave. Follow the path right round and you'll find yourself in the open again, at the foot of the path to the summit. Solve this puzzle...

And you'll come face to face with a wild lv50 Moltres with Fire Spin, Flamethrower, Endure and Agility.

#1 :: Knot Island - After The Elites

Once you've obtained the National Dex and beaten the Elite Four, return to One Island and speak to Celio. He's working on using his Network Machine to link to "a far away place", that is, Hoenn, but needs a gemstone to complete it. Return to Mt. Ember where Moltres is, and instead of heading west from the Explosion Move Tutor, head east and you'll confront two Rockets guarding a cave. There are some Braille messages here, but deep inside the cave is the Ruby - give it to Celio and you'll receive the Rainbow Ticket which allows passage to Islands Four, Five, Six and Seven. See Four Island's Walkthrough for more info.
