POKEMON FIRE RED AND LEAF GREEN

The long awaited Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are finally here. Complimenting Ruby and Sapphire, FireRed and LeafGreen sets out to complete the GBA series by allowing access to the original 251 that were left out in the other two GBA games. As remakes of the original games, Red and Green from Japan, they retain the great gameplay value that the old Gameboy games had, but introduce the user-friendly systems, awesome graphics, and also nine additional islands to produce a totally new, distinct game.

While FireRed and LeafGreen takes the same 50 TMs from Ruby and Sapphire, for keen Pokemon battlers, one of the best features of the game is the introduction of many of RBY's great TMs in the form of move tutors - Explosion, Rock Slide, Thunder Wave and Substitute to name a few. Furthermore, typical of second-generation games, some Pokemon have had moveset changes, so your Steelix can now use Dragonbreath and Cacturne can now Destiny Bond.

Of course, many of Ruby and Sapphire's traits have been kept - the items, natures, effort values and abilities, so that these two new games are fully compatible with the two old ones, as well as the new Pokemon Colosseum. More over, for new players, there is a tutorial system, and icons of all the available items!

Below is a table of what has changed between Red & Blue and FireRed & LeafGreen, and a table with what has changed between Ruby & Sapphire and FireRed & LeafGreen.
