POKEMON CRYSTAL - THE RUINS OF ALPH

Back in Gold and Silver, there were four caves in which you needed to complete a puzzle in order to unlock all 26 Unown. The drastic change in Pokemon Crystal is the addition of rooms behind the puzzle rooms, in which you can find all sorts of goodies. You need to solve a cryptic message in order to access this room, where you can collect four item balls. By dropping down into the next room, you'll see a message written on the floor in Unown letters that has no importance whatsoever to the game.

First Puzzle
The first puzzle, Kabuto, can be accessed very early in the game. The cave is very close to the entrance to the Ruins of Alph and just above the Research Center.
A Pokemon that hid on the sea floor. Eyes on its back scanned the area.
Solution:
To access the hidden room, examine the back panel for this word:
Now use an Escape Rope and a hole in the back wall will open when you reenter the cave. Inside, you can get a Healpowder, an Energypowder, a PsnCureBerry and a Berry.

Our words shall remain here for the ages

Second Puzzle
The second puzzle, Aerodactyl, can be accessed after you have HM03 - Surf. The cave is south of the Ruins entrance, past the small patch of water.
This flying Pokemon attacked its prey with saw-like fangs.
Solution:
To access the hidden room, examine the back panel for this word:
Now get one of your Pokemon to use HM05 - Flash and a hole in the back wall will open. Inside, you can get a Gold Berry, Moon Stone, an EnergyRoot and a Heal Powder.

Thus we shall erect a Pokemon statue outside

Third Puzzle
The third puzzle, Ho-oh, can be accessed after you have HM03 - Surf. You must head through Union Cave to get to this place. Mid-way between the entrance and exit, there is a ladder heading down to the next floor. In the next room, surf across the water and exit at the northernmost opening. Defeat the Psychic, and enter the cave.
A Pokemon that flew gracefully on rainbow-colored wings.
Solution:
To access the hidden room, examine the back panel for this word:
Simply reenter with Ho-oh as the first member in your party and a hole in the back wall will open. Inside, you can get a Revival Herb, a Charcoal, a MysteryBerry and a Gold Berry.

We humans must learn to walk in harmony with them

Fourth Puzzle
The final puzzle, Omanyte, can be accessed after you have HM03 - Surf and HM04 - Strength. Like the third puzzle, you must go through Union Cave. Instead of exiting through the northermost opening on the second floor, head west after surfing and use Strength on the rock to get past and into the final cave.
This Pokemon drifted in the sea by twisting its ten tentacles.
Solution:
To access the hidden room, examine the back panel for this word:
Simply reenter with a Water Stone in your backpack and a hole in the back wall will open. Inside, you can get a Mystic Water, a MysteryBerry, a Star Piece and Stardust.

They possess great insight and refuse the outside world.
