POKEMON CRYSTAL

Pokemon Crystal is an upgraded version of Pokemon Gold and Silver. Several upgrades and fine-tuning has been made to this game to make it more interesting and exciting. Below is a list of all the changes that have been made.
A few changes in Crystal involve the introduction of new characters to the gameplay:
1. You can now choose to play a female character in addition to a male one.
2. Eusine: Eusine is obsessed with Suicune. You will encounter him at various points of the game, and even have a chance to battle him at one point.
3. The Poke Seer: The Poke Seer is located in Cianwood City. This man will take a picture of your Pokemon, which you can print out using the Game Boy Printer. He also tells you when and where your Pokemon was caught, and also what level he was when that happened.
4. The Move Tutor: The Move Tutor will appear by the Goldenrod Game Corner on Wednesdays and Sundays. For 4000 coins, he will teach one of your Pokemon either Ice Beam, Thunderbolt or Flamethrower. The Move Tutor only because available after defeating Red.
5. Certain trainers will give you evolution stones for free, if you take their phone numbers:
Schoolboy Alan on Route 36: Fire Stone
Fisherman Tully on Route 42: Water Stone
Lass Dana on Route 38: Thunder Stone
Picknicker Gina on Route 34: Leaf Stone
6. Buena: Buena hosts a radio show called Buena's Password Show. Every day, if you tune in to the radio station (during the day), Buena will give out a certain password. Remember the password, then in the evening (after 18:00 and until 00:00) head over to the second floor of the Radio Tower. Talk to Buena, tell her the correct password, and she will give you one point for your Blue Card. A lady next to Buena will give you all sorts of prizes, depending on how many points you have:
Ultra Ball: 2 points
Full Restore: 2 points
Nugget: 3 points
Rare Candy: 3 points
Protein: 5 points
Iron: 5 points
Carbos: 5 points
Calcium: 5 points
HP Up: 5 points
7. Some trainers have changed locations and Pokemon. Also, some trainers will say different things when they call you on your cell phone.
The following are changes that have to do with Pokemon only:
1. Suicune: Suicune now has a much bigger role to play in the plot than before. He can now be captured quite easily in the Tin Tower. First, you will catch a glimpse of Suicune in three locations:
- Outside of the National Park
- By Mount Mortar
- North end of Cianwood
After freeing the legendary beasts from the Burned Tower (like in GS), and after getting the Clear Bell from the Radio Tower (by defeating Team Rocket, like in GS, only this time the radio director gives you a Clear Bell instead of the Silver/Rainbow Wing), go to the Tin Tower. Entei and Raikou will run away, but Suicune will remain and you will be able to battle and capture him.
2. Celebi (JAPANESE VERSION ONLY): In the Japanese version of Crystal, after defeating all 16 Gym Leaders, you will get a GS Ball after plugging in the Mobile Adapterand activating the Communication Center in the Pokemon Center in Goldenrod City. Take this to Kurt. After one day he will give you back the GS Ball. Take it to the Ilex Forest, put it in the shrine and a Level 30 Celebi will attack you. This feature was taken out of the English version of the game.
3. Dratini: In order to get the Rising Badge, you no longer have to find the Dragon Fang. Instead, enter the Shrine in the Dragon's Den. There, an old man will give you some sort of test. If you pass the test, not only will you get the Rising Badge, but the old man will also give you a Level 15 Dratini that knows Extremespeed.
4. Odd Egg: At your first visit to the Daycare center, the Day-Care man will give you an Odd Egg. This Egg will hatch into one of the Baby Pokemon: Igglybuff, Pichu, Cleffa, Tyrogue, Magby, Elekid or Smoochum. The Pokemon will know the move Dizzy Punch. Also, there's a 50% chance that the Pokemon will come out Shiny.
5. Lugia: A man in Pewter City will give you the Silver Wing. Head over to the Whirl Islands to the place where Lugia can be found in Silver. It will be there, at level 60.
6. Ho-oh: Ho-oh is a bit more complicated to catch than Lugia. First, you have to capture Entei, Raikou AND Suicune. Then, head to Tin Tower. Inside, there should be a man who will give you the Rainbow Wing. A set of stairs will then appear. Climb them to get to the roof of Tin Tower, where you will encounter a Ho-oh at level 70.
7. Move changes: Many Pokemon have some significant changes in their level-up moves, and the TMs they can learn. For example, Eevee can now learn Baton Pass.
8. Probably the most significant change is that Pokemon now have a small animation when they enter the battle screen.
9. Some Pokemon have changed locations, Pokemon swarms are much less common in Crystal then they were in Gold/Silver.
10. Vulpix, Ninetales, Mareep, Flaafy, Ampharos, Remoraid, Octillery, Mankey, Primeape and Girafarig can no longer be captured in the game. You must trade for them.
11. There is now an extra side quest involving the Ruins of Alph and the Unown. Check out the Crystal Ruins of Alph Guide.
1. When you enter a certain area, a sign will appear at the bottom of the screen telling you where you are (Route number, City name, etc).
2. There are new prices at the Goldenrod and Celadon game corners.
3. You will get a Clear Bell after defeating Team Rocket at the Radio Tower, instead of a Rainbow or Silver Wing. You can get the Silver Wing from a man in Pewter City, and the Rainbow Wing from a man inside the Tin Tower after capturing Entei, Raikou and Suicune.
4. The in-game trades have been changed (in Goldenrod, instead of trading a Drowzee for a Machop, you must trade an Abra).
5. Since the game is for GSC only, the graphics have been changed on a few levels (this is most noticeable in the Ice Cave, but graphics of the Dragon's Den have been changed, and the graphics of the Battle Tower are also far more advanced than those of the rest of the game).
6. The game utilizes the Game Boy Printer, the Transfer Pack, the Infrared Port, and the Mobile Adapter (this feature was removed from the English version of the game).
7. West of Olivine City, there is a Battle Tower where you can battle other trainers in link-style battles and earn prizes. Check out the Crystal Battle Tower Guide.
