POKEMON FIRE RED AND LEAF GREEN WALKTHROUGH
Route 3
There are eight trainers between here and the next Pokecenter, so if you get stuck just run back to Pewter to heal. Jigglypuff is a good addition to the team you use to catch Pokemon, as it knows Sing, which will put the opposing Pokemon to sleep. This increases the chances of you successfully catching it. Here is the first trainer you come across:
Heading north from here, you encounter your second trainer:
Now heading east, the next trainer is optional:
Heading east again is another optional trainer, but going around him will force you into another battle. The closest trainer has:
The female trainer above and to the right of him has:
Directly south of these two trainers is another optional trainer, just jump over the ledges to get to him. You will then have to head west and back around to the top.

Head back up to where the female trainer above was, and from her head east again, and then south to find another trainer:
After beating him continue south and you will find the first grassy area where you can catch Route 3 Pokemon. The trainer lurking around this area will battle you if she spots you.
From this grassy area, head east and then north and follow the path. There is another patch of grass but it has the same Pokemon so just head north continuing to follow the path. There are no other trainers so head straight up into the PokeCenter. Heal up as we have a cave ahead. Inside is a man selling a Magikarp. Magikarp is the most incapable Pokemon at battling, but at level 20 it evolves
into a very powerful Gyarados. If you want you can buy it for Y500, otherwise exit the Pokecenter and enter Mt. Moon.
Mt. Moon
Mt. Moon is the first cave we come across in the game. For maps of Mt. Moon click HERE for Floor 1 and HERE for Floor 2. First, head directly north and then west then south to collect TM 09 - Bullet Seed. From here head west and north and collect a Paralyz Heal. Head south and east and tackle the trainer.
Now head back east to another optional trainer.
After beating her head north. You will see a ladder, head down it. You will now be on floor B1. Follow the path until you see another ladder. Here you will find a Rocket.
Head east and you will find a StarPiece. Now walk back the way you came, back through the B1 level until you get to the original ladder you went down, on F1. Now head south and take the left fork. You will see a trainer and an item. Grab the item (a Potion) and take him on.
Now head east and grab the Rare Candy. Head north and take on the trainer.
After beating him, head back down and to the right, going up the right hand
path.Grab the Escape Rope on the way. Keep heading north and you will see a
person behind some rocks. He is not a trainer so head west. The next trainer is
walking around in circles.
Continue west and follow the path south until you find a ladder, go down it. Go down the next ladder and grab TM46 - Thief. Then take on the Rocket.
After beating him press A on the rock to the right of him which contains a hidden Ether. Now head back up to ground level. Head down and take on the next trainer.
Continue west and then north. Battle the Hiker.
Head north and grab the Moon Stone. Then continue down the ladder. Then follow the path along to another ladder up. Head north and grab the Revive. Then head back south and then east and down the stairs. Battle the trainer.
Now head up the stairs on the right and follow the path around. Fight the next Rocket.
After beating him head up and before the next trainer to the far right in the alcove is a hidden Moon Stone. Now head up to meet the ending of Mt. Moon. A Scientist has discovered two fossils and wants them, so of course what better way to resolve the problem than to battle :)
When you beat him you will be allowed to choose between two fossils: the Dome Fossil (on the left) which will later in the game be cloned to form Kabuto, or the Helix Fossil (on the right) which will later be cloned to form Omanyte.
 
After you have chosen head left and grab the Antidote. Then continue up the ladder. Head right, and up the next ladder out of the cave! Now be sure to have done everything you want to do in the cave for now because we can't come back for a while. You are now on Route 4.
