There is a bit to do before we can take on the gym, so firstly let's head to the lab to the left of the Pokecenter. In the first room there is someone who want to trade his Electrode for your Raichu, and another who wants to trade her Tangela for your Venonat. If you make this trade, Tangela
will have Stardust attached.
In the second room there is a Move Tutor who will teach your Pokemon Metronome. For more information check out the Move Tutors Guide. In the third room there is a man who will trade his Seel for your Ponyta. There is also a Scientist. Talk to him and give him one of your fossils, either the Dome/Helix Fossil or the Old Amber. Walk outside and go back
in and talk to him again. He will give you the ressurected Pokemon. Do this
again for your other fossil.
Old Amber will resurrect Aerodactyl 
The Dome Fossil will resurrect Kabuto 
The Helix Fossil will resurrect Omanyte 
Once you've done all this let's head to Pokemon Mansion in order to gain access to the gym.
Pokemon Mansion
For Maps of the Pokemon Mansion, click HERE for Floor 1F, HERE for Floor 2F, HERE for Floor 3F, and HERE for the Basement. Below is a list of the trainers found in the Mansion.
On the first floor grab the Protein and the Escape Rope and head up to the second floor. Don't touch the statue, instead walk right and down and grab the Zinc. Then head back up. Taking the right hand path will lead to a Calcium. Take the left hand path and then head up the stairs. Head left and grab the Iron. Then head back to the statue on this floor and hit the switch. Head down the newly opened path and battle the scientist.
Jump down the ledge and battle the next Scientist and grab the Carbos. Head down the stairs. Head north and to the left. Then head down into the area with another Burglar. Activate the switch on the statue in this area. Head to the left and grab the Full Restore. Head back to the entrance of this level and head north. Battle the Burglar and head up into the small room and flick the switch. Head west into the next room and grab TM14 - Blizzard. Continue west and grab the Secret Key off the table. Head south and grab TM22 - Solarbeam. Now use an Escape Rope or retrace your steps to get out. You can now take on Cinnabar Gym!

Blaine uses pretty strong Pokemon. All of them have Fire Blast, a very powerful attack. A strategy I like to use is to use a sleep inducing move and then a water Pokemon. Blaine will also use Hyper Potions and Full Heals to make it a bit trickier.
When you walk outside, Bill will come running over to you inviting you to Island One of the Sevii Islands. It is optional at this point, and if you choose to accompany him you can follow the Sevii Islands Walkthrough. If you choose to go make sure you are stocked up because you'll be there for a while. If you choose 'no' Bill will just wait for you in the Pokecenter. Now if you went or not you will now be back to take on the next gym...the final gym...in Viridian City!
