POKEMON FIRE RED AND LEAF GREEN FAME CHECKER
The Fame Checker item in LeafGreen and FireRed simply records what you've heard about certain people in the game, namely, the eight Gym Leaders, the four Elites as well as Oak, Daisy, Bill and Fuji. Some of the things that people say clue you in on that person's past, their personality or who they are. There's no real significance in this, but it's interesting to read.
Each person has six items about them, and the sources of these items are all over Kanto and the Sevii Islands. Some may be from people, others come from signposts and journals. Pokemon Journals can be found on bookshelves in people's homes, in the PokeMart, or the PokeCenter. When all six items have been recorded, you can press [Start] to get a personal message from the person. Here, this has been represented by the grey Pokeball.
