GENERAL RULES

1. No flaming. We don't need to start any unnecessary fights in here.

2. No swearing, or at least keep it to a minimum. Besides the fact that we might have some younger visitors, it's just not respectful.

3. No spam. Spam messages (also swearing and flaming) will be deleted and/or edited immediately, and a warning will be sent to the user who did it. This COULD end up as a ban, so one warning should be enough each time.

4. If you would like your team to be rated, it is imperative that you post it in the team rating center. This is for two reasons: One: This way the forum is much less cluttered and there is more room for other posts. Two: Any teams posted outside of the rating center will be deleted, and a PM will be sent to the poster asking him/her to re-post the team in the rating center. I will enforce this, so why bother posting outside of it, instead of just post your team in the rating center in the first place?

5. I'd like to remind everyone to check our website before they ask a question. This just help keep the board less cluttered, and when you ask a question on the forum when you could easily find the answer to the question on the site, it just makes you look unintelligent. Naturally, threads regarding subjects that don't appear on the site are all welcome with open arms.

6. For beginning/less experienced players I'd recommend taking a look at the Trainer's Guide thread, which includes many tips about team building, and the likes.

7. Don't reply to spam, especially if you know it's spam. It just gives the moderators more spam to clean up when they can get to it. Likewise, if you think something goes against these rules, you do not need to post in that thread to point it out. Moderators can read, too. The fact that we aren't on 24/7 means that if someone posts something stupid, then in two minutes, it probably won't be noticed yet. PM a moderator with a link to the post if you really want to do something about it.

Thanks for reading, and I hope these rules will be followed so that Mr. Saturn, tiger10x, Krisp and us Frontier Brains won't need to do too much work around here... 8-)

REGARDING TEAM SUGGESTION TOPICS

I'll allow such topics for now, since they are getting more common. A few ground rules for such topics.

1. Such topics can be used to gather opinions on which Pokemon should be used to complete the team, or to help you make a choice from several Pokemon that you feel like using when you only have limited slots in your party left. NO movesets are to be rated here, do so in the Rating Center @ http://psypokes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=261

2. Since these topics are meant to gather opinion, can the author of each such topic please indicate in the thread, or PM me, to request for the thread to be locked once you think you have sufficient opinions gathered. It get's pretty spammish when the replies eventually become repetitive, or completely useless. "I love Blastoise, you should use it" for instance.

REGARDING ROMS/GAMESHARK/ACTION REPLAY DISCUSSION

This is a reminder that the discussion of ROMs and cheating devices like GameShark and Action Replay are generally frowned upon, especially ROMs since they are illegal.

REGARDING "What is your fave RSE (whatever) Pokemon?" THREADS

There is a special thread that should be used and has been established for all those reasons. That thread can be found here. All topics like this will be deleted or locked.

yeah, Nido pretty much summed everything up. The last three are particularly important. Laziness is no excuse for not looking up an answer. Well it is, just a poor one. And one thing Nido didn't mention, This game is fun first and competitive second. Just because someone's team doesn't have a standard moveset, or has a pokemon that isn't overused and on every team, it doesn't give you the right to act high and mighty and bash that set. Feel free to make suggestions for moves and pokemon in a respectful way, but I for one will NOT tolerate posts like "that pokemon sucks, start over." That person put a lot of time into raising that pokemon, and saying something like that just makes you look like a jerk. As Nido said, try to make it so there's less work for us mods. A working mod isn't a happy one. :P

I've taken over your duties TCM :D

Anyway, here's something everyone should take note of. From now on, spamming will result in post deletion, not just locking of the topic. Some locked topics will also be deleted within a few days, but those topics that ask unique questions or have some use will be kept even after locking so people can still read them and not post new threads to ask the same questions.

New update to the rules: I've added a small section regarding the favorite Pokemon threads since there have still been topics that come through with that type of idea. I've also added a rule number 7 regarding spam and replying to it. Please read.
