I've just received an email asking us to put up a guide with the best battle combos. But these combos can extend beyond mere moves.. let's say you can also use abilities. If this topic gets good enough I'll put a copy of it on the main website.

So to get started, here are some very basic combos that can be seen very commonly among battlers:
- Rain Dance + Thunder, Surf
- Sunny Day + Fire Blast, Solarbeam, Moonlight (The famous Sunny Clefable moveset)
- Mean Look + Perish Song
- Rest + Lum Berry
- Rest + Natural Cure

There are some obvious ability-attack combos, like...

Levitate+Earthquake
Swift Swim+Rain Dance
Rain Dish+Rain Dance
Chlorophyll+Sunny Day

Sunny Day+Synthesis/Solarbeam/Morning Sun/Moonlight/Fire attacks
Synchronize+Refresh
Shadow Tag+Perish Song (very rare, but can be pulled off with Skill Swap)
Encore+Counter/Mirror Coat
Rain Dance+Thunder/Water attacks
Traunt+Skill Swap
Swagger+Haze
Flatter+Haze
Swagger+Psych Up
Flatter+Psych Up
Defense Curl+Rollout
Guts+Facade

That's all I can think of right now.

Thought of a few ones for abilities...

Arena Trap + Explosion/Selfdestruct
Battle Armor + Harden/Defense Curl
Color Change + Calm Mind/Harden/Defense Curl
Compundeyes + Sand-Attack/Mud-Slap
Cute Charm + Thunder Wave + Confuse Ray
Flash Fire + Surf
Intimidate + Leer
Levitate + Earthquake
Liquid Ooze + Toxic
Magnet Pull + Flamethrower
Minus + Plus (Plusle and Minun only)
Poison Point + Thunder Wave + Confuse Ray
Shell Armor + Harden/Defense Curl
Speed Boost + Agility + Double Team + Mud-Slap/Sand-Attack
Wonder Guard + Agility + Double Team + Mud-Slap/Sand-Attack

Most of which I haven't really thought out. But this is the main basis.

Lanturn 100% resists the two, while Quagsire and Piloswine make it semi-ineffective. That's just off the top of my head.
Skarm is weak to them, and Blissy takes neutral damage. Everyone else either takes a super effective hit to one, or neutral to both.

Don't be to sure, Thunderbolt is super effective on water types and not very effective on electric, so it would be just normal effective, this is if it didn't have Volt Absorb.

And I think TK was talking about moves that work well with each other, not just 2 moves.

A Lanturn without Volt Absorb isn't smart.

But a Lanturn with Swift Swim pawns Ky00ber.

Lanturn doesn't get swift swim, last i checked. only volt absorb and illuminate. besides, volt absorb knocks a whole move out of Kyogre's repertoire, as opposed to just resisting it...

7. Out of 386 in the Advanced Gen. That IS a handful.

It said "resist", not "is not weak to", PlatinumDelcatty. Magneton, Lanturn w/Volt Absorb, and Shedinja are the only ones that can resist both.

Weezing resists neither.
Sableye resists neither.
Steelix resists Bolt only.
Scizor resists Beam only.
Lanturn was the only one right on that list.

So that is only 5/386 (if you count Chinchou and Magnemite) in the Advanced Gen. (In Sinnoh, it's 6/493, with Magnezone involved.)

Seriously, you could have at least made that bump constructive.

Earthquake + Levitate/Flying. That's why Tate and Liza are hard cause Claydol can use the Earhquake without damaging any pokemon.
Stat-up move + Attack
Thunder wave + Confuse ray + Attract (Raichu)
Trapping move + Toxic + Sandstorm (Shuckle)
Substitute + Belly drum + Salac berry (With Hp divisble by 4) (Charizard)
Endure + Salac + Reversal (+ Belly drum) (Heracross

In 2 vs 2 battle
Poke 1: Explosion
Poke 2: Endure + Endeavor/Reversal + Salac berry

With {groudon} using his Drought ablility, Solarbeam doesn't need to "take in sunlight".
It hits in one attack!!!!!!

{kyogre} and his ability with Thunder are good to. (Thunder hits 100% of the time when its raining)
