For a dragon, I like Donta, Dontus, or Orthos. You know, tooth, fang.
thunder- thor (Norse god of thunder) or Static (for obvious reasons)
grass- botanica
steel- bionis
fighting- etarak (karate backwards)
psychic- Jean (Jean Grey, the psychic on X-men), Kesin (kinesis), or Xavier (the other, more powerful psychic on X-men)
ground- gaia or geo

Anyone have a nickname for Mewtwo?

EDIT: Please don't double-post; take advantage of the edit/delete feature. :)

My Mewtwo's nickname is Tetsuo. If you don't get it, rent the anime Akira...

papersun, other possibilities could be:

Perazor (Perach - flower + dinozor - dinosaur)
Geffen (vine in hebrew)
Noga (the planet Venus in hebrew)

Just the first things that came to mind. Tell me what you chose to use in the end.

I went with Midori (Japanese for "green") because I liked the sound of it. Geffen was a close second.

Thanks!

Daray/Delano - Celtic: Dark
Donovan - Celtic: Dark Warrior

Glad that you like them, _ghost_. As I said earlier, I got those names from a name book and decided to share them. ^_^ Since you like those Celtic names I'll list 20 more for you. ^_^ (10 male, 10 female.) Hope you like them...

Male:
Aiden - Firey (Perfect for a fire type. ^_^)

Calhoun - Warrior (A name for any kind of pokemon, really.)
Cian - Ancient (Relicanth! Or any other type of ancient pokemon... lileep and anorith, maybe?)
Crevan - Fox (Vulpix/Ninetales. ^_^)
Devlin - Brave; fierce
Faolan - Wolf (Poochyena...)
Kail - Mighty one
Liam - Determined guardian
Sloan - Warrior

Female:
Aine - Joy (Blissey/Togetic.)
Cecelia - Blind (A pokemon that knows smokescreen or something, perhaps?)
Ciara - Black and mysterious (A dark pokemon for sure! Umbreon... ^_^)
Enya - Little fire (A fire pokemon for sure.)
Kara - Sweet melody (A pokemon that knows sing.... Jigglypuff! ^_^)
Keaira - Little dark one (A dark type of some sort...)
Keitha - Female warrior
Marjean - Coral, gracious (Corsola!)
Melva - Armored (Perfect for a steel type!)
Ula - Jewel of the sea (For a pretty water pokemon... or a starmie?)

Feel free to use them. If you want a name/names with a certain meaning/certain origin/whatever... I can find some! ^_^ Hope you enjoy the names!

Ah, a female Skarmory, huh? Here are some ideas:

Avian - French: Bird-like (Good description of skarmory. ^_^)
Melva - Celtic: Armored (Another good one... I thought, skarmory. ^_^)
Gin - Japanese: Silver (The color... obvious.)
Gainell - American: Happy, Shiny (I picked this, mostly for the shiny part.)
Zoheret - Hebrew: She shines (Nice meaning for your female skarmory, really.)
Kaloni - Hawaiian: The sky (I thought about how it can fly. O_o)
Ziarre - American: Goddess of the sky (Flying... again.)
Aletta - Spanish: Winged one (It has wings. ^_^)
Alima - Arabic: Strong (Steel is strong, no?)
Kaori - Japanese: Strong (Same as before...)
Iolana - Hawaiian: Soar like an eagle (It doesn't look like an eagle, but perhaps it can soar like one... the name is unique too. ^_^)

Hope there's something you like! ^_^

I did mine based from themes.

Yellow (Trainer name: Joey)

example names:

{pikachu} Diana (After my sister ^)
{nidoqueen} Queenypoo (looked purple in stadium 1 and 2 with green :D)
{charizard} Erin (After my cousin... unfortunately it turned out to be a guy.)

Gold (Trainer name: Harry P.)

example names:

{feraligatr} Harry Potter (Because it was my first.)
{entei} Griffindor (Did I spell that right?)
{arbok} Slytherin
{murkrow} Ravenclaw
{jigglypuff} Hufflepuff (For mainly the 'puff' part.)
{yanma} Draco Malfoy
{eevee} Hermione Granger

Ruby (Trainer name: Yugi)

example names:

{igglybuff} Mystic Tomato (Star thinks this name is cute for igglybuff. She came up with the idea.)
{salamence} 1000 Dragon
{relicanth} Rare Fish
{regirock} Barrel Rock
{groudon} Garoozis
{rayquaza} Slifer
{sableye} Rogue Doll
{latios} Seiyaryu
{gardevoir} Mystic Elf

If I get FireRed I'll name my pokemon after Final Fantasy characters, monsters, aeons, weapons, armor and whatnot.

Umi - African: Servant (Ermm... your HM slave. ^_^; )
Mika - Native American: Wise little raccoon (Looks like a raccoon... ^_^; )
Maxima - Latin: Miracle Worker (The HM slave thing again... -_-; )
Prudence - English: Cautious, Intelligent (Careful and cautious seem the same to me. ^_^)
