I just got pokemon yellow for by GBA! It's really fun!

Yeah, it's a pretty good game. Although, since you have a pikachu, the first Gym leader is super hard.

Congrats fellow Pokemon Yellow Version owner.
Anyway, the first Gym Leader is easy. Just catch a Mankey, get it to at least lvl 10. A Butterfree would be a nice backup, since it's the only thing that does damage to Onix through Route 2. _________________  |

I used pikachu. I trained him to level 12, then bought 3 potions, used double team twice, then tail whip a few times, then quick attacked it to death (oh, and I did end up defeating onix with a struggle)
