Sooo, I'm playing Emerald Version on an emulator on my phone for nostalgia's sake, and I find myself short a couple members. In particular, I need a good water type...

Main Team (That I refuse to drop):

    Skarmory - Lv 31

    Gardevoir - Lv 31

    Manectric - Lv 31

    Combusken - Lv 34

Backups (That I can use, but would prefer not to):

    Shedinja - Lv 28

    Kecleon - Lv 31

Wobbufett - Lv ??? (Left it at the Daycare, haven't checked in a while :/ )

I am currently in Lilycove City, and have not yet challenged the local Gym Leaders (whose names escape me at the moment.) Since I'm using an emulator, I *could* trade between other games, but would prefer not to. I need a reliable Water type, and a reliable something else too ideally...

Get a shroomish, train it until lvl 54 without evolving, it will learn Spore.
Then teach it Focus Punch. :P

For a water type... corphish is a good choice I guess. Or spheal for ice type, will be useful against Drake...

Spheal sounds like a good idea. I've also considered Ludicolo, but, I dunno, I just don't care for it. (No particular reason though.)

Spore + Focus Punch does sound awesome. Awful lot of work though :P

Considering Cacturne, but the base Special/Defense leaves a little to be desired... But is it really a huge issue for in-game play? I dunno.

In Pokemon R/S/E, as long as you have a Pokemon that can take a few hits and use Surf, that's all you need in a Water type Pokemon. Wailmer or Psyduck are good choices! Oh and it also helps to teach it Ice Beam to make Drake easier.

If you're looking for a 6th Pokemon, I would try Vibrava. It's a decent Dragon/Ground type Pokemon with a useable movepool.
